Atomic Hearts release is today. I am going to buy it soon. So far reviewers I trust said the game is good. I have to wait another 2 hours till it unlocks. I have no idea why usually games unlock in the morning.

If anyone wants some good reviews.

I couldn't get into Factorio at all, but then I accidentally put a stupid amount of time into both Mindustry and Satisfactory, despite being based on the same thing. Maybe Factorio's drab art style put me off too much.

But yeah, it's not for you. Games like that are perfect for the kind of people who look at circuit boards and earnestly want to know exactly what's going on.
I have Factorio I just haven't played it much.

I didn't think it possible, but Worth A Buy is harder on the ears than GMan Lives.

Unrelated, Shadow Warrior 3 went on Gamepass and it breaks my heart. As someone who played and followed the reboot to the extent it turned into a religious experience, I just wasn't able to get into it. Gorgeous to look at, and it was great to see Hoji again, but something about it all felt...off. Even putting aside how they did Lo Wang's voice actor real dirty by replacing him (with an even pastier, whiter Korean to play the black-Japanese guy...), I didn't feel any of the energy those first two games gave off.

Last month I made a post detailing how Garth DeAngelis, senior producer at Firaxis, left the studio after 14 years. Last Friday, Jake Solomon, the creative director and lead designer on the XCOM games, also announced his departure from the studio, after 23 years. This is in the same announcement that Steve Martin will be leaving his position as Firaxis studio head after 25 years, replaced by Firaxis's COO Heather Hazen, who joined in 2020 after being an executive producer on Fortnite. Additionally, the "next mainline game" in the Civilization series has been announced to be in development. The latest Firaxis game, Marvel's Midnight Suns, has launched its first DLC, continues to go on steep sales despite its recent release, and has been called a "commercial flop" by Take-Two CEO Srauss Zelnick, though he hopes continued support will pay off.

This seems like either the conclusion of XCOM at Firaxis, or a solid sign that any further entry may suffer from a substantial drop in quality. I'm now also expecting the possibility of Civilization 7 featuring a battle pass system or in-game currency microtransactions.

give me moar visual novel games that are about depression/internal suffering/mental illness like Milk Outside a Bag of Milk or those types of games Angela He made.

anyone playing atomic hearts
people are comparing it to scorch and other games that where supposed to be kino
is the game any bad? is it good?

Got RPCS3 working well and playing through Asura's Wrath is a treat. It's probably one of the better movie games, even better than Heavy Rain and Detroit Become Human.
RPCS3 is great when it works or a game is compatible. Unfortunately a lot of games still aren't. I bought a used PS3 in 2017 and a bunch of games. I mostly play the old God of War games on it. Only the PS2 and PSP games work. The PS3 GoW games don't work so well.

If you like Immersive Sims, you’ll probably like it. The swearing ( which is up in the air if it’s Russian or an American millennial thing) and the quips are annoying, but the gameplay abd story are fine.

I’m having a blast with Cyberpunk 2077. I can’t remember the last time I was so invested in a game. Been years. Actually felt emotion when characters died. Not perfect by any means, but I’m finding it enjoyable.

I wish there was an auto-pilot drive mode so you could kick back and enjoy the scenery and music though.

That is a really intriguing concept. How much of a VN is it? I watched a bit of the trailers on Steam and it looks more like a Hypnospace Outlaw kind of thing.

it's not really a visual novel so much as it kind of reminds me of a high quality newgrounds-style flash game if anything. the concept is super original

it's basically a having-a-girlfriend-with-BPD simulator

Man, I just got back into Postal: Brain Damaged. This is one hell of a fucking great old school shooter. Addictive as hell.
