Balatro - Like many I was totally addicted to Slay The Spire (I hope that team's next game is on its way) but every other Roguelike Deckbuilder just never clicked for me like Spire did. Balatro's Demo is the first one that has and I would probably pay $50 for this damn game it's utterly stellar. Keep in mind I do have a love for Video Poker and Balatro really does a damn fine job of simulating that dopamine kick of having the cards line up in your favor. It's accessible, I feel overwhelming satisfied to play it right, I'm just in love with its design. I can't wait for the full experience. AMAZING TIMEWASTER
I've also had fun with Balatro. It calls itself a poker roguelike and that is exactly what it is. Very good game if you already know how to play poker.

Mullet Mad Jack - A distillation of a mindless corridor shooter, absolutely fantastic presentation. I was concerned that the game's simplicity would make it boring and that the timelimit would make it only fun for speedrunning autists but it's not. I would buy this at launch if they price it for $20 or less.
In his video about OTXO, Raycevick mentioned that it's a 'less primitive' Hotline Miami, and I feel like Mullet Mad Jack is a new example of it: It's 'less primitive' Post Void.

It's a trend I'd like to see more of. I feel like there's a tendency with indie games for people to hold up interesting ones as pinnacles instead of recognizing them as a 'first version' of something that more could be done with. I wouldn't mind seeing "what comes next" after Darkwood, Pizza Tower, Luftrausers, CRAWL, and things like that.

I really liked that game, I also really liked one of the devs raging about "ironic" nazi imagery used on the internet. Dude, look at your own game.
I never knew about this, but that's kinda hilarious. If I already like a game, I try to avoid anything the devs say that isn't an announcement or patch notes, and will often ignore shit review pundits say because I'm having fun and don't want someone else fucking up my good time.

I really wanted to like that game when I heard the concept. I'm a sucker for tough guy 80s and 90s anime.

Unfortunately, it's basically a retrowave wallpaper instead of capturing the thing that made anime of that era special.
Funnily enough, a few people I know have had a similar reaction with the upcoming shooter Mouse, getting pissed off that it's basically just stealing aesthetics. It's probably not gonna make you feel any better, but all I can really say in its defense is that games like these aren't made for fans of the source aesthetic, these games are made for fans of the game genre, and the visuals are just the style they chose.

There's 10 bajillion shooters out there, and probably even more fast-paced roguelites. It's hard to do anything revolutionary outside of giving it a visual style that hasn't really been seen in a game for a long time.

It gets funnier, that guy tried to get racially profiled(he's ~arabic) by sneaking into E3 through a back door(he was invited and had the passes) but instead of asking for ID the security guards just helped him get to where he was going. He had even dressed suspiciously! They didn't even search his backpack! Who knows what could have happened? He could have brought a bomb!
This is a racism... somehow............

I wonder if the demo works on Steam Deck.

Anyone have any thoughts on the Nioh games? I've got them both; got the Platinum on the first one and loved it, but the second one I just found to not be very fun and dropped it. I've been thinking about hopping back into it sometime, give it another go; either continuing on my current character or making a new one.

Anyone have any thoughts? Any builds that you like to run? Any suggestions?
Played the first one. It's fun and it added something new to the souls formula. I was loving it until I got to the Honda bossfight (the one with the crystals). I went with a tonfa build and never bothered to upgrade much since the whole system seemed like a mess, so I went through the levels chipping away at everything with my little toothpicks. It worked until the DPS check crystals, which regenerate faster than I can kill them.

Then I had a realization: "I'm gonna have to farm bigger numbers" and my Nioh boner withered and died, banishing Nioh into the foggy depths of my backlog.

What the fuck happened to cdromance they dont host dl links anymore? I wanted to download the definitive+ edition of dawn of sorrow but they dont have it anymore.

It's assassins creed: Japan. I found it to be really disapointing and just followed the same old, worn out Ubishit open world formula.
Damn really? I've only heard positive things so far. Guess I'll just need to see how it is when I actually play it.

The guy running it had some sort of spastic breakdown and thinks glowniggers are in the walls. You can still download but you need to jump through some hoops. Go to the main site [cdromance.com] and find the CDR_Ticket number - it's under where it tells you which console the rom is for. Go to the .org site and copy the CDR_Ticket number and then it'll generate a download link. Click that and you're good to go.
