Are videogames for children?

You should just load up a shit tonne of old system roms and install something like Emudeck on it.
The sole advantage the Steam Deck has on retro console emulation is PCSX2 as there is no true equivalent yet on mobile. Otherwise it's redundant.
Granted, touchscreen controls aren't suitable for anything requiring precise & quick inputs but it's still possible to pair a Dualshock 4 controller through Bluetooth (my phone can also connect to a HDMI screen with a cable but I haven't tried that feature yet). A lot of my old games tend to be the turn-based strategy/RPG vidya, slow-paced adventure titles (including PS1 ports of old point-and-clicks I remember playing younger on PC such as Amerzone and Versailles) and visual novels so touchscreen isn't an issue on them.

Steam Deck wasn't an entirely useless purchase since it got its uses (clocked around 150~200 hours on it) but certainly not a well thought-out investment in the long run.
Oh well these things can happen, as long as I can have a partial return of my money by selling it, that's fine.

I have great entertainment.

Since the discord is on lockdown with all invites disabled only archive I can give is the steam announcement

A mod multiplayer mod for SCP containment breach (A free game running on an engine old enough to vote and drink) has decided that they need to go from a free game to a paid game. Keep in mind this game is entirely locally hosted by players, and they only added the net code. They claim they need this to stop cheaters... In their co-op game... Additionally their steam stats are at the lowest point ever, having been 600 players a day average at the start of the year to just 300 now, making the choice to go paid at the lowest point in your games history interesting.

How is this going you might ask... Well they locked their discord after this absolutely hilarious rant... I recommend reading it in a gay nazi voice.

"Dear Community,

It's disheartening to even call this a community, but nonetheless, thank you for the unwarranted backlash. We're proud of the show we put on to entertain you. For a long time, many of you, especially former team members, enjoyed the work of Xandromeda. However, he was found guilty of suspicious activities that, if unchecked, would have destroyed both his and our reputations. Those supporting him may not know the full story.

We are aware of the snakes within this server--no names need to be mentioned. But know that their protests, misinformation, and targeting of SCP-Yeet are attempts to undermine us.

Why?

Because Yeet was the one who successfully removed and stopped them, which naturally earned him enemies. But to be clear, we don't care. We planned to separate the development from this server to protect our team. We can't allow harm to come to them. XtrithX, our favorite, left because of the community's behavior. Dr Ghost (me), SCP-Yeet, and XtrithX made the decision to make CBM a paid game after consulting with others. Remember, Yeet now owns and runs this game, paying for it every month, only to face disrespect.

One more amusing note--it's ironic to see those who once swore to destroy the Coalition return to this server. It's like vultures circling a corpse, but in this case, it's not a corpse--it's a sleeping being that will eventually wake. Stay tuned for more entertainment!"

They have also declared war on the great nation Russia which is half of their player base for no reason???? The Russians have decided to setup a rebel discord to call the owner a faggot and send screenshots of him being incredibly stupid. Here are some.

Apparently this guy is a developer from the original Containment Breach game.

If I'm playing anything on a handheld device, I also tend to lean towards slower, turn based titles as it's more comfortable. Trying to play fighting games or anything with constant fast inputs never felt that comfortable and I would need to be using a standard controller ideally.

I need help finding a game.
its 10is years old or older
a game dev sim
mostly spreadsheets with only small pictures
it was darkish in colour

>Yes! I cleat Jaspel Batt Juniol, and den he dlives a cah rike a clazy man, and den he injects steloids and becomes Battuman! And den, he farrs off da buirding and becomes a palade froat! I maeku me raugh!

No More Heroes 2 is such a good game, but the last boss fight is complete horseshit and Suda51 should feel bad.

I've been binging the Yakuza series recently. I only have 3, 4 and 5 to go. 3 almost lost me with the first 5 chapters being Dad Simulator busywork, holy shit. I'm glad the newer games have a lot less padding.

The developer for the indie game Soulash 2 just released an update allowing you to marry npcs and start a family.
Posting about it before he is ripped to shreds by a very loud and annoying group of people. View attachment 6330422

The (virtual) knives are out, and boy is the Dev sperging out on Twitter. Apparently there was an attempt at review bombing (I thought only right wing chuds do that?), a counter of upvoting and here we are.

Don't remind me, the second phase was particularly bullshit. I still keep a personal memento that I recorded:

I'm putting updates for this in the SCP thread now. But he has shut off the central servers and declared the game will not come back until steam lets him ban every russian from the game.

I miss sitting on a couch to play video games, but not enough to play on anything but a PC. Some autist needs to design the perfect combination of a desk chair and a recliner or something to allow for max comfort at a desk.
Plug your PC into your TV, use a gamepad.

I've never heard of Black Myth: Wukong until today. That game just came out of nowhere.
I know the feeling. I'd never heard of it until the whole SBI blackmail debacle, which is mostly how I know it.

Am I the only one who hates getting flooded with quests playing elder scrolls/fallout?
I want to do one quest at a time, this isnt wow where i need to optimize my path/leveling/efficiency.
I only halfway agree because things like that generally aren't very rewarding unless you do them immediately. I like to save sidequests for when I'm either stuck or have completed the main quest, so it's awful when I go back to do them and have to fight level 10 guys when I'm at level 60, and the reward is three dollars and a mall katana when I'm flush and have the Legendary Ultimate Sword of God.

That's part of the TES charm. You're on your way somewhere and remember you have a quest in the area you're currently in so you go and do it while picking up two more quest on the (short) detour. There's always something to do. I've played TES games since Daggerfall and I always find them dull in the beginning until I start to have some crap on my to-do list. They are a chore simulator in that way and I think it's great.
