I like watching various history channels, including Modern History TV, which is basically just a guy LARPing as a knight, warhorse and all, to show how practical certain aspects of medieval life were.


I randomly got curious what the guy actually does for a living to finance all this and found out that he's actually one of the founders and owners of the British developer Rebellion, who you might know from Alien vs Predator, Sniper Elite or the upcoming Evil Genius 2. They also publish 2000 AD. His brother co-founded and co-owns Rebellion and also works with him on the channel.

I just thought that's kinda neat. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Felt a little down, so I dusted off my 3DS on Tuesday and re-played some New Super Mario Bros. 2 for old times' sake. Beat the entire thing in within three days. It was a lot easier than I remembered it being.

It's sort of like the Three Musketeers. They had d'Artagnan who was sort of a fourth wheel who hung out with them. In the case of the Run Away Five, I like to think their version of d'Artagnan is the Bus Driver.

Easy, in Mother 2 they were Blues Brothers references and they needed to be changed for the english release.

In a prior scene they're shown as a group 5 people with one band member missing and not the full 6, so the english translation team fucked up and didn't count the whole band.

Anyways they're more than willing to shell out 60 bucks for a wii port because it has a character they're familiar with on the cover, Skyward Sword HD has already done much better than anything else.

Let this be a lesson - When it comes to monsters and hunting, it's better off on the PC and with networking issues solved right out of the gate.
 
Someone started an unfounded rumor that Sony is shutting down the PS3 store, the PSVita store, and PSP store and you'll lose access to all your bought DLC and games.

Now for one this doesn't make sense since PSNow runs on the same servers as the original PS3 games themselves and everything you ever downloaded ever is tied to your account regardless of system. The article in question just cites PEOPLE WHO ARE CLOSE TO THE SITUATION and doesn't name names. It's now become a game of telephone and every game journalist site has gone wild with it further exaggerating with each new article. There are claims that even trophy support will be pulled from the games and you'll be unable to sync old games, which again doesn't make sense because PSNow still uses the same infrastructure for that as well. You also still can access the old version of the playstation store on your desktop and still buy and download shit from it.

Now since there's been zero official statement and a whole huge rush of articles, it's making me wonder if this is some guerilla marketing bullshit at work because there's like 500k clickbait articles and doomposting that erupted within hours.

Yeah I mean maybe it will happen, but I don't think this year, but I'm very skeptical of the articles especially after all the CONFIRMED/DECONFIMRED Smash brothers leaks that ever existed ever and 4 years of Trump articles. The Original article written by TheGamer says "A Source Close to the Situation" but if you read another article by another site they say "An Anonymous Verified Source" told TheGamer" which still doesn't mean anything and the original article doesn't say anything about the source having any kind of verification. And Online and trophy support won't end for PS3 games like they're claiming mostly because PSNow still uses the same online infrastructure and you can play against people on PSnow with a PS3. And yeah people losing access to their online purchases would open up a whole new legal can of worms.

They also bring up the PSP Store closing will end Sony's longest running handheld......except they already closed the PSP store years ago.

They're saying the end of the month is when Sony will make an announcement, but they'll have daily updates which is again clickbaity. Why would sony be waiting to announcement on something for older hardware, the last few times companies did it, they just did it with no fanfare.

Played and beat Everhood. Some of the construction is kind of amateurish and billing it as an 'adventure rpg' is way the fuck overselling it but it's definitely worth the time if you want to see what a very bad trip on psychedelics transposed into 2D would be like. No stats or levels, just song visualizers trying to kill you. Just shapes and beats is the only game I can really compare it to. The only thing that kinda irritated me is the lipservice to undertale with the UI presentation,
 
Super Mario 3D All-Stars limited edition game ends March 31st of this month, but I‘m noticing copies for Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine are going down in price.

I guess there is a silver lining after all.

Tooling about in Grim Dawn lately. Decided to dust off and update my Battlemage for Forgotten Gods.

A few gear changes later this guy is doing over 250k damage in one hit.

Looks a bit too knockoff undertale for me to be super interested but does it get angry at you for killing everyone after the game flat out tells you to? Points in it's favour if not.
