Video Games you are looking forward to in 2024 - Is there anything to be excited by?

I can’t think of any new games to play on the top of my head (save for Paper Mario: TTYD remaster and Like A Dragon sequel), but I am looking forward to playing the PowKiddy X55

Right up there with the PowKiddy V90 and RGB30, it’s probably the only handheld that can almost play anything.

Was hyped for Dominions 6, was not disappointed

Cannot think of much.

Obviously, there is the average Nintendo output like that Peach game, but this year in general seems pretty bare so far.

The one thing I am at least curious about is Lollipop Chainsaw Re-Pop. That thing is basically the ultimate development hell story in the making, with multiple back and forth between remake and remaster along with little to no info, yet I want to see it succeed. It is Japanese Devs, so thankfully no woke it seems. They actually made Juliet cuter surprisingly. At the same time, WTF is this game currently?

I just want more news on Kenshi 2. That's probably the only release I care about at the moment.

That was a pleasant surprise, it's just too bad it's a remaster instead of a remake, but I never played it anyway so it's fine to me either way.

Tomorrow I'm getting Another Code: Recollection, the first new game at full price I am buying since I foolishly got Paper Mario: Origami King.
This was yet another foolish choice I made, shit turned out woke... Now I won't pre-order or buy anything day 1 as a hard rule, because you never know what they fucked up.

We're over halfway through the year, we may as well talk about everything we've enjoyed so far.

So who wants to talk about Balatro?
What's that game? Seems popular.

Other than Palworld and the Alex Jones game, I've been only been playing older games. I think this year has been the one that I've mostly refrained from buying any new games.

Deckbuilder roguelike where you make poker hands and go for the most points you can by way of buying and selling different Joker cards that have all kinds of different effects. You can also enhance and modify the cards in your deck to fit your strategy. It is very well done and very good. If physical copies are your thing, it's getting a Switch cartridge release in September.

Oh yeah, I remember you and Maskull talking about it last week, I remember now. Sounds addictive but probably not up my alley.

I forgot about that Jones game lol. It actually seemed competent, surprisingly.

I don't know why Daily Wire and such don't make games. You'll see films (like their new "Am I Racist?" documentary) but not games, they aren't all boomers so I'm not sure why it doesn't register to them. They're trying to be some kinda counterculture multimedia thing after all.

Well, two games I was looking forward to have both been released, Wuthering Waves and Zenless Zone Zero.

Wuthering could've been handled better, but nevertheless, I've enjoyed it. I went with low expectations into ZZZ, but was pretty surprised at how good it is.

I mean, there's still some games in the future for a few of us to look forward to.

A couple games on my list is Brighter Shores, a new point and click online multiplayer adventure game made by the original creator of Runescape.

I'm also wanting to play Fantasy Life: The Girl Who Steals Time. I enjoyed the first game on the Nintendo 3ds quite a bit and this game looks be mostly more of the same with added Animal Crossing village style stuff.

Kingdom Come Deliverance II is also supposed to come later this year and will probably be great.

As for new games this year I've enjoyed... I haven't really played anything new. It's mostly all garbage. The only one of note that I played was Palworld and it was pretty great. I've mostly just been filling my library with and playing older releases when they go on sale.

Looking at the list for the rest of the year
-The new Astro game
- Dead Rising remake
- Until Dawn PC port
- Dragon Quest 3 remake
-Shadow of the Dammed remaster
-Clock Tower Rewind
-The Thing remaster

What a sad state of gaming, all remakes and remasters outside Astro for me. Maybe the new Mana game will be good, but still have to check out Trials of Mana remake that came out.
