I've heard him bring it up but don't really know about it. TL;DR version?

Also how is vinny a "weirdo" he literally can't even bring himself to say "tits" on stream

Imagine being Vinny, literally one of the nicest guys on the internet and still somehow having the most autistic fanbase imaginable.
As a Runawayguys fan and someone who's seen weird Markiplier fans around I've seen my fair share of extreme autism there too but I guess the difference is that the TRG crew and Mark take it in stride and play along while poor Vinny is trying not to cringe himself into an early grave.

All I remember is that people were shitposting with it and Vinny called it out. It might have been during an early MM2 stream idr.

I think that's why he unfortunately ends up attracting these kind of people from time to time. He's too nice to completely tell them off.

Honestly though? It could be a lot worse. I used to be a moderator for the Creatures (Youtuber group that had Uberhaxornova, Kootra, etc. - ended about 4 years ago) and the autism contained in that fanbase makes Vinesauce fans insanely tame by comparison. There were multiple instances of people showing up to their house and their place of work. One guy showed up on their doorstep (alive) in a fucking trashbag. Weird fics and art were considered the norm. Sex toys were sent to them on the regular. A fun group of guys, but good lord their fanbase was cancerous - and that extended to some of their mods, some of which absolutely had romantic interest in some of the members that went unreciprocated. Some of the other mods that weren't hunting for the D turned into Antifa fags who were literally calling for a new American revolution on twitter this year.

Again, it could be a lot worse.
The Creatures. God, that takes me back. The group ended about a year or so before that, I think. Pretty much when James (UberHaxorNova) and Aleks (ImmortalHD) left is when the group actually died. Ironically, the same thing would happen to them when they splintered off into their own group called CowChop (that was partnered with RoosterTeeth) which didn't even last half the time The Creatures did, but this is all only somewhat related to the thread via virtue of all these folk being internet content creators. The Creatures at least had the excuse of most of their fanbase being literal kids. Vinesauce's? No. The only thing more autistic than a kid is a manchild, and that's sadly what Vinny has accumulated, over the years. In my eyes, the fact you were a moderator for them makes you a real OG, or something else to that effect. Thanks for the info!

No prob. Honestly the aspect of the Creatures' fanbase being viewed as juvenile by even some of their own members is what led to their downfall. Kootra and Dan began to lean into the kid/teen-friendly side of things a little too much, most likely because they saw the writing on the wall in terms of Youtube's ad-pocalypse and realized they'd have to change their content in order to stay afloat. It also explains the unnecessary Rooster Teeth merger to some extent: more stability and a chance to be absorbed into another group if things really went to shit. Kootra being actually talented at game development and Cow Chop being formed really doomed that safety net for those that stayed with the Creatures, though.

Kid-friendly/typical Youtber bait was absolutely the wrong direction for the channel, because even the part of the audience that was in that 12-15 year old age bracket didn't want to be fed vanilla, neutered content. And for those of us that were older (late teens/early 20s) it was extremely off-putting after watching them for so many years, knowing that at that point every video was a hollow act. I can understand it from a "looking-at-our-financials" perspective though, and its part of why I don't lay as much blame at the feet of Kootra/Dan for what happened as much as other fans do. Part of me wonders if the Creatures would have stayed together (and would still be a thing) had the Twitch boom come one or two years earlier. They probably could have adapted their regular content to Twitch, avoided financial stress, and kept everyone together. Shame.

I think something Vinny does fairly well is the fact that his weekday streams are much more relaxed/mature compared to Sundays. It allows him to continually draw new people to his channel every week, while still allowing him to stream how he wants to most of the time. It also makes weekday chat more palatable in comparison - although that's becoming less and less true over time.

Wait
As someone who used to be an avid Twitch user for years and now utterly despises what the site has become, hearing that Vinny considered leaving Twitch got me...excited. :smug:
Wait what?
Sauce?

Dlive is pretty good I've heard, but I dunno.

More from Vinny about nuking clips and copyright

I hope he does leave twitch. Between the typical types that congregate on the platform and the possibility of getting nuked for some random pair of tits in a Sunday stream game or something, I think it would be good to go somewhere else. He mentions wishing twitch had competition, so bet if he went to something like dlive and takes a lot of his audience with him he might be able to help boost one if those platforms into being competition to twitch.
I dunno how live streams work in YouTube and if you can donate and use emotes through it, which is what I imagine gets Vinny most of his money.

Not so sure about that, Ninja leaving for Mixer wasn't enough to make it a good competitor to Twitch. I doubt Vinny would have much impact at all.

We're going back to Livestream.com and Chatango boys!

Glad I wasn't the only one who immediately made this joke upon hearing about this.

I'm not sure exactly when Twitch got acquired by Amazon (I want to say 2014), but it definitely made a noticeable difference in the site's business model. It's odd; on the surface, Twitch seems to be just as informal and casual as it was at launch, with the dumb gamer speak and the usage of emotes everywhere, but you don't have to look very hard into Twitch as a company to see the fingerprints of Amazon all over the damn place. I mean, Joel actually got banned for streaming a game called "fuck you," in spite of having a stream marked mature. That's still fucking insane to me. Why would something like that even matter? How many parents are letting their kids run amok on Twitch, when it's nowhere near resembling a kids' site? And even if that is happening - since I can't discount the possibility - why does it matter? Young kids are definitely not the target demographic or anywhere near the largest one. It's just a puzzlingly restrictive business model for literally no reason.

Anyway, as a nostalgic fuck, I would adore if the team moved the stream to Livestream and Chatango for a short time. I think that would be really funny and a cute sendup to their origins, even though it'd probably be super annoying to set up. Still, we have Twitter now, so at least they could link it there instead of spamming threads on /v/.

Didn't Vinny sign a contract with Twitch that says "hey fucker you can't stream on ANY OTHER PLATFORM okay?" If that's still valid, he's fucked and can't leave.
