I also know some people are going to ask "why can't we lock more than one stat", but we are talking about a radical change to the Riven system.
Given the rest of the changes, this is scarcely better than not adding a lock at all and is in a sense worse given that it lets DE deflect further requests by saying they've already added it. It reminds me of the univac affair.
GOOD, DEATH TO THE RIVEN MAFIA MAY THEY ALL DUMP IT.
The Riven Mafia are the main winners of the changes as described; Rivens become more powerful, more difficult to roll into the new power and necessary to enable certain builds in a way that they haven't been since the old shotgun status days. A god roll becomes even more valuable, since you can only lock a single combined element and so the chances of something perfectly optimal with multiple combined elements becomes even more minuscule than under the current system, with rolls more expensive because of the new resource lock tax.

Pablo has been active on Twitter confirming that it's going to be exactly as bad an RNG-fest as anyone might expect. At best, this turns into rolling until you get viral (or whichever first combination you need) and then basically starting afresh with more expensive taxed rolls for the other three modifiers.

Thinking about it more, yeah, DE needs to make some radical fucking changes to Rivens and how they work. It's nice that the floor is being lowered, but the ceiling is fucking astronomical now. Brozime ran the math and... it doesn't look good.
It's insane that a system that's been in place for a fucking decade is worse than gacha games. Fucking gacha games. You know, the types of games that are known for basically being little more than slot machines? If it was a few months after release, I could see them doing a single statlock for a brand new resource. But it's been a fucking decade since Rivens were released and people have had the same complaints for years. Why disposition still exists post-Incarnons is fucking beyond me considering they never did there stated job and since they've stopped nerfing dispo for like two years, they just need to remove it. DE just needs to make Rivens be customisation mods, at this point.

Yeah, under the current system, you're chance of getting a "best possible stats" (without the ±10%) was 1 in 10000. With the proposed changes in the workshop, that becomes 1 in 50 million.

I think whoever designed the deep archimedea modifiers should be taken back behind a shed and shot. For months now I've had just ridiculous combinations that make the max reward fucking impossible. 2x "fuck your energy mods" combined with energy dependent frames, or some variation of "no ammo for your weapons" whenever I get a good weapon. Just week after week of combinations that make it completely impossible.
Who the fuck designed this faggot game mode?

"oh no, too many people are using hildryn because of our dogshit modifiers"

These devs are so fucking retarded I think I'm just going to stop playing this disaster.

The way modifiers are being handled are being changed soon to be put into "groups" so they only pick one from each "group at a time". Though, from what I've seen from Pablo, it seems like they're going to force you to pick a rolled Warframe in order to get all the rewards you care about. You will at least have two "freebies" between weapons and modifiers.

That would be Pablo.

After I posted the celebratory Riven Mafia Dumping, I saw Brozime's rant and this new system sounds like dogshit. WHY CAN YOU ONLY LOCK 1 STAT LINE AND NOT 3. I think the worst part of this is that the Mafia got inflated value and this Blue Kuva is locked behind another shitty weekly slog RNG gamemode. Fucking hell I might be better off taking a break until Tau and play The First Descendant instead.

That would be Pablo.
I was going to say "deport that fat faggot to India" but then I realized that he's already in Canada.

It's baffling to me how the only challenge these idiots are capable of creating is just to remove our abilities and builds then throw in damage attenuation everywhere. Oh, and I suppose the occasional defense objective that gets instakilled because they forgot to consider the fact that enemies can actually go above level 50.

People still mod their weapons for viral instead of using a hound to prime in the year of our lord 2026? But I do hate trying to fit okay Rivens on guns when they have a shit status type. Never really liked them, even if I have a few good ones. Really seems like a thing for the level-cap run people.

There's some serious bullshit in the Archimedeas sometimes, especially Temporal, it also never helps that Warframe has a community that's very willing to be helpful but also wrong and sucks at the game. The amount of times I've made it to the toxin tank just to wipe because no one shoots at the balloons spamming toxin shit is staggering. And all for blue shards, because God forbid DE make those worth something besides converting to Greens or Purples.

I get back at the community by running a Selfish Dante build that turns me into a near immortal killing machine with an ability range of 34%. Now that I'm LR1, I guess I have to be at least half useless.

Someone pointed this out in a different video, but it's hard to say "why do you care, just ignore them" about Rivens when DE is spending a not-zero amount of time and effort on them.

You ain't from Fortuna if you've never done this before!

Maybe I'm just not Riven Mafia enough to think the current system needed this..."Fix." Just makes me not want to use it. Then I get a Haalvu riven the day the gun dropped, but it's dispo makes it basically useless. So that makes it worse. Xaku with Jade Stars and Haalvu alt-fire though. I don't know what DE was thinking.

Still, unless you're really going for damage cap, you don't usually even need Rivens, so it blows my mind that they'd invest even this much time into them.

My hound is more useful than some of the random teammates I get. The Suddenly Everyone is Primed with all the statuses is just hilarious.

Yeah, dispo as a system just needs to be removed entirely; between DE being unwilling to nerf weapon disposition and the existence of Torid Incarnon, it's clear that it's always been a failed mechanic and won't make up for terrible base stats.

Given that DE is willing to add more stats to them, it seems like DE wants to make them more a part of Warframe modding in general. There's also guns like the Laetum or Felarx where getting a negative critical change roll makes the gun a lot more consistent. Also a Verglas with crit chance makes it one of the best weapons in the game.

I had a Nova join my fucking Mobile Defense Steel Path Incursion and kept casting fucking speed MP. Since I was host, I just disabled my internet connection long enough for them (along with everyone else) to get booted out. This is to say it's a low fucking bar.

Exactly. The Haalvu is great out of the box, it doesn't really need a Riven. So Rivens will likely never be useful for it, and with Incarnons, what's the point? Rivens were supposed to make the shit weapons useable, but Incarnons are better at it. The Torid is great, I don't use it much because I hate the constant up and down time cycle. The Boar Prime Incarnon is just the right mix for me. Also stupid, but fun stupid.

In a niche like that, I could see it. But otherwise it's mostly just Damage/Crit Chance/Crit Damage, or maybe status and stacking more of a specific status type on some. I could understand hunting for specific things, but they're just not needed most of the time. Just get good at modding. Stop putting viral/heat/hunter munitions on everything, it's 2026. Embrace Acuity/Electric.

That's too much for the Warframe Community.

My favorite is when I'm trying to farm kills for my weekly 1999 stuff and the LR5 or 6 is off splitting the spawns on a Hellscrub. I can forgive a baby Tenno, but so many of the LRs are the worse offenders. I'm sorry my high specific Khora build is double dipping into Ability/Melee kills by killing everything with the whip. Novas are bad though, there's a time for fast and there's a time for slow and it's easy to choose now. Unless you're Volt, you don't always need to go fast.

The Torid is great, I don't use it much because I hate the constant up and down time cycle.
Given that it gets charge from body shots, it's pretty easy to have the Incarn active pretty much constantly.
But otherwise it's mostly just Damage/Crit Chance/Crit Damage, or maybe status and stacking more of a specific status type on some.
Eh, there's enough sources of base damage that unless you're using something like DA Laetum it's not worth using that. Likewise, there's more then enough sources of Crit Chance that it's not worth rolling for it.

This is why I do the weekly calendar stuff solo. Doesn't take that long depending on how far I want to go into it.

I think they were just doing to be an asshole. Sadly, for them, I have zero patience nor tolerance for that kind of thing and I will force you into host migration because, frankly, the only reason for me to go public is because the mission is even more boring otherwise.

Pretty much or Relic cracking. I feel bad bring Limbo into a match, just in case someone gets fucked with accidentally, but the line between clueless and malicious is damned thin. I just name my kitguns after the skin I put on them and put Prime after it to potential confuse baby Tenno. Also kitguns look like ass and DE should fix that instead of making more annoying changes to Rivens. Or at least let me put a skin on my beam kitguns.

I've seen a Limbo like... one time so far this year.

Akimbo Kitguns when, DE?
Akitbos?

I got him for a Archimedea and he was literally the best option for it. I had to relearn how to play him. It was kind of fun, to be honest, but I know his rep so I'm always careful. Not everyone knows to roll. Pedro is right about one thing, there are no bad frames, just bad builds. Just some frames don't have a lot of good builds.

I wish, but akimbo rattleguts would be madness. Which would be fun, so they should do it. I'm not sure why we can't have akimbo of all the pistols anyways, you know half the community would run akimbo stugs.

Limbo would be a great Warframe in a version of the game that wasn't a hoard shooter where KPM was the goal and taking damage was only possible with consent.

Honestly, being able to mix and match would also be crazy.

Forgive my ignorance over the riven sky falling. But like, there isnt any content in the game that really even needs a good riven. I suppose level 9999 would be made easier. But anyone doing that regularly is using a warframe that doesnt even need a gun. As far as I see rivens are irrelevant. Just something to spend Kuva on for you pet gun.

Pretty much this, but some people wanna minmax, and the riven disposition system has made things worse.

While they aren't required for anything, they can open up a lot of new build opportunities. Case in point, gas damage. Because of how it works, the only ways to scale gas damage is using either Valence Formation or using the Vesper 77 augment Leaded Gas. Being able to have Gas as a combined element on Rivens can open up a lot of possibilities, not to mention multiple combo elements.
