Given the rest of the changes, this is scarcely better than not adding a lock at all and is in a sense worse given that it lets DE deflect further requests by saying they've already added it. It reminds me of the univac affair.I also know some people are going to ask "why can't we lock more than one stat", but we are talking about a radical change to the Riven system.
The Riven Mafia are the main winners of the changes as described; Rivens become more powerful, more difficult to roll into the new power and necessary to enable certain builds in a way that they haven't been since the old shotgun status days. A god roll becomes even more valuable, since you can only lock a single combined element and so the chances of something perfectly optimal with multiple combined elements becomes even more minuscule than under the current system, with rolls more expensive because of the new resource lock tax.GOOD, DEATH TO THE RIVEN MAFIA MAY THEY ALL DUMP IT.
Pablo has been active on Twitter confirming that it's going to be exactly as bad an RNG-fest as anyone might expect. At best, this turns into rolling until you get viral (or whichever first combination you need) and then basically starting afresh with more expensive taxed rolls for the other three modifiers.
