You look up anything wh related and suddenly his shorts are flooding your feed with the worst voice acting and editing it's literally brainrotted. wh youtube is full of wannabe VAs and most of it is horrible. There was one good ogryn thing I thought was decently fun.

Was wondering if there was a way to get a Kiwifarms Dark Heresy game going and then I realized I don’t need another thing over taking my life.
I've been getting ready to host a Deathwatch game myself. My buddy wanted to play a Lamenter, but I didn't want to send him half-baked homebrew rules. A Farms homebrew discussion could be enjoyable, as I only got as far as +5MS, +5 WP and -10 FS, sort of like the Flesh Tearers.
Little of column A and a little of column B.

Lol, fucking Paradox. Yeah the company that forced everyone into putting fucking watermarks on the screen and linking to their bullshit page for their world of darkness club. I don't know if I'd go so far as to call Bruva Alfabusa a scammer, but definitely a bullshitter. I think it's more that he just got burnt out as the series went from 5 minute episodes to 20-40 minute(or more) messes, but who the hell would want to just throw away $20k a month? And of course what did he do when he changed to a different IP and had to use his own "art" that wasn't just copied or photoshopped? Create his own merch to sell.
I think they took the oppurtunity to get out and work on a new project. I think they're planning on returning to TTS at some point, and aren't going to say flat out TTS is done as it would be bad for buisness. HtP is not bad and they are clearly putting love into the project. TTS was nothing special, but had love and a little talent put into it, and if we are going to talk about worse groups (or at least got a worse end of the stick) , I would look at Team4Star, as I think their Goku/Gohan had to disavow DBA in order to get professional gigs.
Also Paradox are a bunch of Swedish Kikes, and you only have to look at their DLCs (the more recent HOI4 flavor packs were really egregious) being roughly the same price as the base game. They at the very least when you pay to make your nation playable, will make the original version that you bought in a dlc base game. They also treat their shills well, whether they tow the line or not.

GW wont do it, but Tau could be the largest range of models if they embraced the auxiliaries idea.

Guard could have their own range within Tau. Most races in-universe, whether they have been mentioned previously or invented for the purpose, could get a mini range. Leader, 2-3 types of foot troops, maybe 2-3 vehicles per auxiliary race.

Tau arent popular so it wont happen, but the idea is begging to be used. Hell they should really revisit Imperium ally rules.

Best GW can do is another Primaris captain.
Yeah, but Leman Russes with ion cannon turrets and fusion gun sponsons supported by IG vet squads with camo cloaks and markerlights would be fun and interesting, so naturally we can't have that.

Would be more interesting to lean into the heroic self-sacrifice aspects of the Lamenters instead. They're all doomed but they know that by their sacrifices others will live. Less rip and tear, more glorious final stand.

I would rather T'au get their own unique auxiliaries instead of guardsmen. I really can't see them being anything more than a reskin of a strike team, or literally the Guardsman datasheet. I'd rather they explore other xenos races that are part of the T'au Empire like the Nicassar so we could have some psyker options.

Eh. Still better than MajorKill or Weshammer. I just see him as a bargain bin Baldemort

Aside from how boring it would be to have firewarriors or pathfinders but human, and people have already been doing that with 3d prints and kitbashes for ages now, and actually using some of the other xenos races would get more unique models on the table as well as perform unique rolls for the tau...

It would also throw more fuel onto the fire of guard players who constantly complain that GW doesn't cater to their specific preferred guard regiment and make 17 versions of each type of troop and vehicle unit with bespoke models. At least the "we want traitor guard" players finally realized they can just run IG and put chaos crap all over it.

Well I found one scrambled homebrew sperging on Reddit. It gave them a bunch of talents and abilities to do with their misfortune, and their Chapter table giving them a bunch of talents and traits for their tactical preference towards boarding assaults. If anything I would give them a mix of boarding actions and harsh melee abilities the BA/FT tables give as it would show their heritage, but give enough to make them different as a combatant.

Edit: When I get home I will find the soyboy sperging so the supreme intellectuals that lurk here can dissect and create a better Chapter. The Primarch's Curse should reflect their bad luck more than the black rage, as I think in the 40k timeline, the Flight Fantasy games take place before the Lamenters regained the Red Thirst and Black Rage.

Here it is, I'm sure we could make some use of it:
For my Lamenter, the GM and I actually created a custom Chapter just for fun (or not-so-fun considering their luck...). Unfortunately, I don't have my folder here, but I still remember a few details:

  • Paranoia as a free talent - they always expect the worst, after all.
  • Several spacefaring and void combat-related Chapter advances since that's actually their main speciality - and they're really good at it. Honestly. They don't spend all their time dying in glory, they get a lot of stuff done that people tend to gloss over. Maybe that's part of their curse, too.
  • Unbowed and Unbroken as one of the Chapter advances. (I remember this one because I misread it as "Unloved and Unbroken" and commented that it sounded quite fitting...)
  • The Primarch's Curse had something about not being able to benefit from Charms. We also took a Flaw called "bad-luck magnet" from another roleplaying system: It essentially means that the character will be hit by more negative events than his team mates, and if there's something inconvenient happening to a random character (from stepping into a hidden puddle to being the only one to walk because there are only [characters-1] bikes left), he'll usually be the one suffering from it. It requires some sense of humour and a certain level of trust between GM and player so that it doesn't get misused, though - even a Lamenter needs a break once in a while.
  • We also let ourselves be inspired by the "aura of doom" that was once mentioned in a White Dwarf article: Essentially, it means that people around them can feel a hint of the tragedy surrounding them, and even the Lamenters' opponents sometimes inexplicably get overwhelmed by pity and feel unsure whether they're really their foes. So as a Solo Mode ability, we decided that once per session, the character can't be attacked for the first combat round (although the GM has the last word).
  • Initial Cohesion reduction (like for some other Chapters) that got reduced by 1 for each successful mission.
  • And of course, there was a lot of role-playing involved. NPCs who knew about the Chapter's reputation reacted accordingly, while our Blood Angels Apothecary was really keen on studying his distant and elusive relative - who in turn would rather lock himself in the bathroom and fortify it than let the Blood Angel know anything about his curse.
Whatever you decide to go with, I hope you'll have fun playing - and let even the Lamenter have his moments of glory from time to time!

Beyond the regular rules for blood angels, you don't need anything special to play a Lamenter. Just do some role playing. Making their misfortune into an explicit gameplay mechanic is just writing a template for the DM that they can do in their head. But it's reddit, so of corse they need instructions on how to have fun.

After like 3 archived MATIs worth of time, my first of 10(00) sons is born. I had the smallest brush possible and toothpicks but i've still got colors bleeding in places among many other problems but very fun. Now to flip this room upside down for those legs

Thousand Sons look like such a massive pain to paint, well done 👍

Thats actually pretty good for a first go. You picked one of the hardest factions to paint and did well.

Most of that bleeding wont be noticeable unless you're inspecting up close. I have similar gem issues on my Custodes but I goy better over time.

Be proud!

On the topic of the Tau auxiliaries.

Halo is dead as fuck and should be harvested for all it’s good ideas, so the Tau becoming Covenant-like is the logical path, were I GW, they’d get a Death Guard-tier edition “villian” upgrade with three new races and their status as the “rising star” being less of an informed trait and their “Great Crusade” is starting up.

Taufags can fight me on this but they’ve already got Drones, Jackals and Prophets. The Tau would be considerably better if they just went as (openly) nasty as everyone else in the setting, no more nice blueberry offering healthcare and state-mandated Gfs, you will embrace the Greater Good.

I'm not going to fight you. In fact, I agree. Lore's already been headed that way for some time, its a logical progression of their overall "story" as they go from hopeful and optimistic to jaded and bitter, and sanding rough some of the smooth edges of the Tau would go a long way to making them fit in better with everything else.

Well of course you can do this, and this is how Lamenters and Flesh Tearers work in the game. Flesh Tearers of course eventually got a rework since they are a popular chapter. I think it is important to give people these sorts of options to players, as it allows players to play their favorites without it feeling like an afterthought.
I feel it helps differentiate a playstyle. A Crimson Fist Tactical is going to play differently than an Imperial Fists Tactical, and in FF games, where characters tend to die a lot, a player may see their friend playing a chapter they like, and want to play something similar.
I also like doing this sort of work as it challenges me to think and be a better DM.

l'm going to echo Mr Clark and say that bleed is only noticeable close up (I had to zoom a bit to pick it out). Nice work, especially on such a challenging first model 👌

For a first go, well done. The colour bleeding is usually cleaned by the wash/shade, what are you thinking for the wash?

For cult legions, I’ve been going with their god’s respective color for the wash and I’ve been having success. It looks like all their base colours are “tainted” in a way.
