Kroeger sincerely loathed Honsou, but Forrix and Falk were using their prejudice against a halfbreed to shit-test him and make him stronger. Forrix and Falk both eventually tell him that he's an Iron Warrior at heart despite being tainted with Dorn's blood.
Vashtorr appears to be the nascent patron (demi)god of the Iron Warriors and I can think of a very good reason Honsou would be favored by him

I hope they actually do something cool with him. Arks of omen was kind of a whatever plot line shotty books too. But I think he looks cool. Seems primed for some iron warriors or dark mechanicus models.

Anyone ever grabbed one of those citadel finecast upgrade sprues? found one for cheap online, wondering what I'm in for
I heard later finecast releases were fine, but I never wasted my money to find out if it was true. I'd go in expecting the worst and be ready to fill in air bubbles.

Went looking for some old favorites to tweak my Emacs configuration along with and somehow I didn't already get a notification for this one:

Oh yeah, I'm reading Angel Exterminatus and Berossus is all confused by the fact that not only is he not completely dead after he upset Perty but pleasantly surprised that he got a kickass Contemptor body as way of autistic apology for getting turned into a wet smear across his Primarch's fists.
One of the few Chaos Dreadnoughts who isn't completely insane, along with the sleepy Night Lord whose name escapes me (EDIT: Malcharion)

I don't know how you all feel about Abominable Intelligence and the narrator seems to be AI and so does the art (I actually like the chunky art style) but what's really important is the script. I'm pretty sure a human wrote all of it because I would do things like attempt to corroborate claims about one Heretek or another on the bloated Fandom wiki and it all seems to check out. In my experience, LLMs hallucinate about games pretty readily so almost a full hour with no red flags is very encouraging
I like the Scholars Lore channel. Dude has a spot on David Attenborough AI voice and writes some really good scripts. Even has a couple OC donut steel stories that are pretty good.

The IW's in Storm of Iron have some wholesome moments amongst themselves (by the standards of devil-worshipping, sociopathic war criminals ofc.).

(Which I imagine like Balkan or Middle Eastern ethnic blood feuds; if you aren't one of them, it's just Hatfields and McCoys).
Forrix in particular really warmed to Honsou, in a “You ain’t so bad, runt” older brother sort of way.
Kroeger was nuts at that point but was honest in believing that guardswoman was made of sterner stuff. Which that idea was later used for his backstory, blood-crazed bastard though he is. Kroger’s still coherent enough to respect (in his way) the tenacity of a frontline grunt who refuses to say die.

what are your recommendations for decent lore YouTube channels out there for 40k. I enjoy that sort of thing in the background when I'm working. By decent I mean not AI or gay Australians.

Dont think I like mantis warriors for green eye lenses. Ill try something different next time. All boy do I hate the black shoulder pads on sarges. Gonna touch it up once I finally get a look for it I like... at some point.

Can't speak for the craftworld variety, but I heard more praise than ire for the Path of the Dark Eldar series if you don't mind their sadomasochistic relatives

Specifically blood angels assault termies

Does Space Marines in Commorragh count? The Carcharodon's novel covering that is p alright.

Space Elves dont have many and are rare to find physical books if thats your thing.

Path of the Eldar - heard nothing but very average things.
Path of the Dark Eldar - heard nothing but amazing things
Lelith Hesperath - very enjoyable read, really gets into the head of the Drukhari and how fucked they are.

I'm a physical book kinda guy so I can only speak to one. But Path of the Dark Eldar I've been looking to buy for a long time given the good reviews.

The Forge of Mars omnibus is mainly about the Imperium but Eldar play a crucial role therein. You'll never guess who they ally with!

Valedor is just about the only good Eldar novel. Shouldn't be expensive to find a copy on ebay.
Thank you all for the recommendations, I will look into it.
