Warhammer 40k

This is basically Gallowdark right?

Well it certainly looks like it's supposed to be a Gallowdark proxy, but according to this image, it appears that the measurements are significantly smaller compared to the recorded measurements of the official plastic:

That's not going to fit the intended grid of 97mm x 97mm tiles.

I'm doing Perturabo's book and I'm diggin it a lot. Fun guy.

Oh, one thing I did like about Harrowmaster was the descriptions of some of the Alpha cells. One in particular was pretty neato.
Something about being in the void for so long and/or warp taint has made their skin almost translucent. You can see the veins and blood vessels in their faces.
Also those one guys who were doing the full "I am Alpharius" meme only to immediately get called retarded posers and laughed at.
Washed, needs some cleanup still.
I like that brass. Thats a nice brass.

Perturabo did nothing wrong.

Not mine. (Source: Someone on dakkadakka posted these pictures he found on Facebook)

Some of proxy guard range The Damned have started shipping to kickstarter backers after months/years of delays.

I'm noticing whoever built these using a bunch of bits from various sets. I can see a pair of WGA Bulldog legs, some Stargrave heads, and of course some 40k bits,

My opinions. I like the grenade launcher. I've struggled to find a good proxy grenade launcher. The 50cal LMG I could use to proxy a bunch of stuff. Autocannons, stubbers, or some K47 MGs. I like the blowtorch style flamethrowers. And of course, great ab-humans.

I don't know why so many have their middle finger raised, and why there's so few lasguns. I'm hope it's a pose and loadout the guy happened to like and not something he was forced to do by the limitations of the kits.

Washed, needs some cleanup still. While I'm here - things I would love from the Ork wave but that are very unlikely to happen
  • Please dear god don't let the War Trakk be a Deffkopta style fire and forget sculpt, I'd love a variety of weapon choices or alt builds
  • Have new Warbiker kit alt build as Nob bikers. Alternatively restore bike squad size back to 9
  • Only minor scale creep please, new Boyz and old Boyz are actually pretty similar in stature. I'm fine with Bosses and Nobs being a bit bigger.
  • Freeboota upgrade kit + Generic Boota boss + New flash gitz (I have no issues with current kit it's wonderful) + Badrukk
  • Grot tanks and that battleship from forgeworld
  • Wagon resculpt, maintain the old scale and elevate the 9th ed preset loadouts with their own unique bits that make them stand out.
  • Less restrictions on leaders. Better yet can we just get auras back on generic HQs
Im also looking forward to the ork refresh even if I dont personally play them. Orks are one of those armies that everyone loves just because they are iconic to 40k(and warhammer as a whole). I do wonder if their refresh will be more focused on updating their regular GW line or if it will also include plastic versions of forge world models. Plasticizing forge world models in itself though is a route I want to see main gw go down since every army has at least a vehicle or two that looks great(necron tomb stalker, khorne daemon engines, imperial guard vehicles, etc), and als othey wouldnt need to come up with a fresh new design either, only thing i can think of being an issue is SDS(old forge world) wants to use those designs.

Yeah, the way it touched on a lot of the Alpha Legion memes was pretty nice. My favorite was
The Imperium assuming every little raid Alpha Legion warbands did was part of some giant master plan that they just can't figure out yet, but they just have no supply chain and have to steal literally everything they have. Also some of the oldfag AL marines going full on "trust the plan" when no one knows what Alpharius and Omegon had in mind.

khorne daemon engines, imperial guard vehicles, etc
Slaughterer seems to have inspired the Venomcrawler. We might see the Decimator come back one day but I'd prefer a corrupted leviathan. We've had forgeworld tanks come to plastic very recently with the solar auxilia and they were immediately banished to HH, which seems to be a repeating trend and is cause for concern with the Custodes release. I have hopes for the Macharius surviving since krieg is now a favored child in 40k.

The rumors have been so overloaded with traditional 4th/5th edition Ork units that there's not much space for anything else. Not everything can be true of course, or is going to be released all at once.

I really can't imagine any of the Forge World Ork models being revived in plastic. While Orks are iconic, their FW offerings were obscure and unremarkable aside from the Gargantuan Squiggoth, which is technically still being sold by GW. And that exception has mainly to do with its presence in Dawn of War over two decades ago, when Orks lacked a super unit in their regular plastic range. Since then, Orks have gotten the Battlewagon, Stompa, Gorkanaut, and Kill Rig. Many of these are also replacements of Forge World models in the same archetype:
  • Battlewagon/Battle Fortress -> Battlewagon
  • Mega Dread -> Gorkanaut
  • Gargantuan Squiggoth -> Kill Rig
Orks may get one or two new vehicles (not refreshes) in their 11th Edition range, but I rather expect completely new designs rather than porting old Forge World stuff. Similar to Guard getting new designs like the Taurox and Rogal Dorn rather than pulling from their abudant Forge World designs.

I think one of the reasons I want Dorn to come back is to just see him try and become Lord Commander of the Imperium, and Guilliman really, really wants to give him the role but not doing so because he was charged by the Emperor to do it.

The guard is an interesting case because the malcador etc are plastic models, just in the solar auxilia Horus Heresy game. GW does still draw from old forge world ideas though, the eldar corsairs being the most recent example, and some aspects of the DKOK in january last year. Basically though i dont think any of the forge world designs goinbg to plastic are off the table, however its most likely gw is focused on getting the main range straightened out and the forge world ideas are for future expansions. If I had to bet money though, if any forge world unit would go to plastic it would be the squiggoth or the kill bursta tank.

You mean you dont want this utter trainwreck to make a glorious returvn in plasteel? (:_(

Forgeworld does have some big winners, the use of plague toads in Boltgun and TWW seems like foreshadowing for whenever lesser daemons get their next pass over. Bet it's at the same time as GK.

Only in the new lore did they start talking about chaos gods having bodies and actually getting off their asses in to do shit.
No, that was already in Realms of Chaos. The bodies are just not real bodies as much as they are a center of power; they can just dissipate it at will.

A Power of Chaos as described above consists of a vast vortex of energy without material form. However, these entities are so powerful that they can create sub-realities within the fabric of Chaos itself. Thus, at the very center of the vortex that is Khorne, there exists his personal realm: a vast plain of skulls formed into pyramid where Khorne sits upon his throne. This image of Khorne is his manifestation and the focus of his being. Of course, a Chaos Power is so powerful that he can dissolve his personal realm and form at a whim, creating other places and forms to inhabit as he pleases.

But still, I think making an "avatar of God" a thing reduces something incomprehensible to something comprehensible which is a disservice to the whole idea of a "God". Like if I see a passage in GW's next book about the space caesar breaking into realm of chaos and "kicking khorne's ass" or something I'll fucking cringe and never read anything after M41.999 ever again
