Some people (myself included for a while there) have little self control... mix in a bit of collector enthusiasm.
What really doesn't help though is GW constantly bringing out new boxes, and not just because those boxes contain a new model or two, usually it's because of the cost savings involved in buying a boxset compared to buying the units separately. So you start thinking "well I haven't finished paining my minis... but if I get this box and split it I'm easily saving like $50-$80, and I have to buy it now since the boxset is temporary."
That's pretty much how I acquired my current backlog. They dropped an Imperial Fists battleforce box a couple of Christmases ago and I snapped it up before it could disappear. Same for the Sisters relaunch box.

GW have perfectly captured the consoomer mindset of "The more you buy, the more you save!". Throw in a dash of FOMO on the next new shiny toy and you have a good reason of why it's called plastic crack.

Suppose that's an upside of printing. Your STLs are always there to be printed, no need to rush through them. Don't have to worry about it being discontinued/ missing out on a 'great deal!".

Here you can see two pots of nuln oil. The one on the left looks well used while the one on the right is unopened. But that’s a lie, the one on the left was almost full until I knocked the cunt over about 10 minutes ago covering a small part of my desk and most of the floor in my home office in a black wash.

🤬
Unrelated to the tragedy but what could possibly require such large amounts of nuln oil in the first place.

Nuln oil is pretty much standard for weathered guns or orks or IG or Chaos marines that aren't TS/EC.

I once spilled 20% of a bottle. My favourite pyjama shorts paid the price.
Guy at the my flgl even asked what I spilled when I went in to buy the paint pot holder. Literally the only time people buy one of those paint pot holders is when they spill paint.

There are two things that make you a real painter

1. dunking your brush in your coffee/soda
2. spilling the fucking nuln oil

With all of the drama surrounding fan-created content as well as the excitement of new releases, WhatThe40k took the time to observe a momentous occasion:
If GW is going to drag its ass, then bust their chops as they deserve.

After recent leaks I think its just corona fucking them over since regular chaos marines will be getting almost fully updated.

I am waiting for the World Eater stuff though I just prefer monogods.

3. Then wonder why I ever got this stuff and go do a proper oil wash.
What's better than nuln oil? :P

An annoying realization tonight when I just slapdashed the fuck out of these Space Marines in an hour using a "6 Chisel Blender" brush for basecoating and I literally can't tell the difference between them and the ones I spent an evening or 2 "doing it right." C'est la vie. At least my notes on how I did my colors are accurate, I guess.

Never went back to nuln after going oil. Oil wash is just much better than acrylic. Flows better and can be removed easily instead of having to paint over.

Shame the grey knights terminators*
(Both flavors) are kinda shit.
The strike squad and purifiers are the backbone now.

GW is now DMCA'ing Artists on twitter.

Also cheaper too.

By the way, is the Collectors Edition of the Grey Knights codex just the normal cover without the Warhammer 40k logo. If so, then their logo is worth $40
