The votaan are probably lesser but related ai then to what caused the age of darkness. Though I hate it because lime the tau and ethereal. This lore essentially takes away all agency from the actual interesting part of the society, and the most interesting part of it intrinsically will be the ones rebeling (like farsight)

Dan Abnett's writing the last Siege of Terra novel, The End and the Death:
Fitting that Abnett be the last author for the series.
The question remains if The Scouring will get novels.
Fuck now I need to decide if I should try and slog through the most relevant (not shit) HH books I haven't read or just skip to the end.

I'd have to imagine that GW would find some way to continue writing HH stories, including the aftermath if need be. Why put a stop to a series that sells so well for them? Especially since they're now majorly pushing HH on the tabletop.

They came up with the Primarchs sub-series of novellas to further elaborate on the Great Crusade, so sure, the Scouring can be an additional sub-series.

She looks like Winston Churchill, which is probably the point considering she’s the spawn of a Churchill pastiche.
She needs a cigar in that case. Can't be a Creed or a Churchill without a stogie. She could also use some nasty facial scars like her old man instead of just being fat and ugly.

If there's any big world shattering revelations (which hasn't to put it mildly been a strong point of the HH series, see the Emperors crazy ex-wife that tried to run away with their children) then it won't be hard to find out since every 40k youtuber that does anything even remotely lore related will be doing a video on it.
So if you're curious you can easily find out and then start the from the start and work your way through. But if you're the person that wants to find out for yourself then definitely read the last book first.

I thought the aftermath was a foregone conclusion. They might even go all the way and show what happened to the Primarchs.

Otherwise there isn't really many other big events unless they want to do another War of the Beast and just pull major previously unmentioned and nearly lore shattering events out of nowhere.
They could do the Reign of Blood, that could be interesting but that seems like it would be more political intrigue (at first) then big chunky space marines shooting each other.
There's several Imperial crusades that could be fleshed out, although most of those were Imperial Guard heavy (given how rare Space Marines are) so that might not be a good replacement either.

Or you know they can finally get around to expanding the current 40k lore which really really needs some love. I mean we had like a handful of books all almost exclusively focused on Guilliman to cover a 200 hundred year crusade (which I don't believe they even really did) that pretty much solved all of the Imperiums issues after the cicatrix maledictum.
Talk about wasting a good opportunity. 7th edition ends with the galaxy literally ripped in 2, half the Imperium's territory was lost, Chaos raids everywhere and then the first novel they release is set 200 years later everything is fine now (better even) because Primaris and then Gilly goes off to slap fight Morty. I get why they did that because they wanted a lore justification for why every single Space Marine chapter now has Primaris (i.e. why you should totally buy Primaris Blood Angels models despite the Blood Angels being stuck on the other side of the great rift completely cut off and isolated from the Imperium) but in terms of story and world building it really was meh.

Glad to hear it, there's no way the last line won't be "I was there when Horus slew the Emperor", unless they'll actually have the twist ending that Horus became the new Emperor, and then the line will be reversed.

And I think Scouring will be next unless there were already novels about the Iron Cage. Also it will probably expose that some chapters are traitor gene seed made from rebel elements.

Sorry for double posting, but I kind of had a pretty funny realization about Arch after seeing he had a wonky release schedule on his main channel but still videos on his boring alt-channel. The guy constantly criticize GW about how it ignores the main consumer base to appeal to normies, only for him to create a second channel mainly for normie political takes and highly reduce the quality of his main channel.

Sounds more like his heart just isn't in it anymore rather than him explicitly trying to appeal to normies over his core audience.

If he had just stuck to lore videos and not going full retard over things that don’t matter he would be doing just fine.

The Warmaster hands you the forbidden zip and a double cup, what do you do?

I'm really hopeful for Darktide but I can't shake the feeling it'll be a mess on launch and suffer from a lack of content.

Its an always-online game that has a secondary currency. My expectations are rock-bottom.

Allarus terminators maybe be pointless now. But my praetorian plate captain commander still slaps

If vermintide 1 and 2 are anything to go on -- it will be a janky launch that eventually smooths out. But hey Fat Shark has been churning these l4d clones for a while now so at least the mechanics will be mostly there, the level design will be neat to forgettable, and there will be some decent voice acting, and eyeroll inducing ironic humor.

I will enjoy my 60 hours there.

Now about that Rouge Trader game...

Is Jesper Kyd doing the music for Darktide? The soundtrack in Vermintide was A++. He wrote what should be considered the Skavenblight national anthem, after all.

Has Arch's Warhammer content even gotten any better? I have much sympathy for him in regard to getting unjustly kicked around by GW at the behest of commie redditors, but he grew to become irritating to me as a Warhammer video content creator that I stopped paying attention to him, considering he:
  • doesn't engage with the tabletop games at all.
  • doesn't engage with the modelling and painting hobby at all.
  • seems to express nothing but derision towards any lore since 8th edition (e.g., Primaris Space Marines) five fucking years ago.
  • seems to prefer taking potshots at GW from the sidelines more than anything else.
All with a tiresome smug attitude.
