You've done Purple and Blue. The obvious contrasting color to this would be an orange. So gold would definitely be where I'd lean towards.

Myself, I've been considering doing a Harlequin army (since there are STLs for the entire damned thing out there) and using the Vallejo Shifter paints, or something similar.

They're iridescent paints, so they look different from what angle you look at them at. I figured you could do up an entire army by painting various checkerboard patterns and the like with them and then every time you move the figurines they'd shift constantly.
Green stuff world has a line of color shift called Chameleon ColorShift Metal.

Haven't tried them myself but from what I have seen they look really neat. Thinking about getting a box and trying them out on my Tyranid's shells to try to give it a bit of a jewel beetle look.

From what I understand they need a black base-coat/black primed surface as they react with what they are painted on and it doesn't show through on lighter colors.

Check out Turbo Dork. I think their colors would look great on Harlequins. A friend of mine painted a vaporwave themed Tau army and used their stuff.

Kill team is fun. It's like X-Com mixed with Risk. It's also a lot easier to memorize what your army does and different armies offer different ways of building a roster.

Yup, I've got some Turbodork and looked at the GSW ones. And yeah they need to be painted over black, preferably glossy black. They're not really paints. They're much more akin to varnish with flake in it.

Outside of Harlequins they make great power swords paints. One problem being that being basically varnish/glossy primer/fingernail polish, if part of the color shifter is damaged, like say the pointy end of a sword, then the entire damned colored region starts peeling off. At least this was the case with the Vallejo ones, haven't tried the Turbo Dork or GSW ones yet.

Much like GW, I forgot about the knife ears
Eldrad can't keep getting away with it!

No, really, he's like 40k's Sam Hyde, if Sam Hyde actually did a fraction of what he's been jokingly accused. Shit like "kidnapping half the crystallized Farseers in the galaxy for a creepy necromantic ritual" is so far down the list of his misdeeds it barely registers.

Eldrad got permabanned from his craftworld and is quite the persona non grata everywhere else, which is why he tagged along with the Ynnari. To bad we won't know what will come of that since there won't be any more ynnari books.

Having used most of these colour shift paints now (the known brands anyway; Vallejo, GSW, Instar, Turbo Dork etc), they're pretty shit if you want to preserve detail on a busy sculpt. Because of the nature of the pigment used, they're hella thicc. I'm pretty sure they all use mica powder from the same family used in auto paints. You wouldn't notice the pigmentation on a car or bike, but on a 28mm/32mm mini it sticks out like a sore thumb.

You can get some interesting effects with it though. If you do a reverse zenithal prime (a mid-grey base working up to black) you can incorporate something resembling shading on them without reducing the colourshift effect. I did some Starweavers and Voidweavers for a friend of mine using this method and with a pinwash and all the other details painted as normal they did look the part. I only tried it once on an actual mini and it wouldn't be winning any Golden Demon awards.

If anyone is thinking of using them, realistically they're an airbrush only paint. If you use a 0.5mm nozzle, low pressure and carefully build up multiple layers they can look good. Definitely stick a gloss varnish over the top once you're finished. You'll probably want to strip down your airbrush and give it a thorough clean after a session of using them though.

Also, if you want to go really pro, incorporate a layer of gloss varnish in-between your layers of colour shift paint. I learned this when using colourshift/pearlescent paint on cars/bikes. It can greatly enhance the colour shift effect (though it does vary from paint to paint). Again, maybe not something you'd want to use on minis, but on large, relatively flat areas of vehicles it'll work fine. I've had a project in mind for an Eldar titan using this technique for a while now.

Plague Marines are an absolute BITCH to fight against.

And is it just me, or is the Space Marine Tactical Squad meant to be a trashmob?

1. Plague Marines are supposed to be like that. What do you think "Disgustingly Resilient" means? My first game with my Black Templars was against a Death Guard player, so I know how tanky the are.

2. Nah, the trashmobs are Chaos Cultists. Used by some Legions as either cannon fodder or part of a sacrificial ritual. In a Space Marine army, the Scouts are kind of squishier than a Tactical Squad.

My Tactical Squad routinely gets their shit pushed in. They have weaker stats than, say, the Marines that come in the starter kits or the Combat Patrol.

I usually have a harder time against their Rubric Marine pals, who hit about as hard as the rotboys can take a beating.

I've committed great heresy against God Emperor of Mankind.
I played Kill Team with my friend with action figures instead of painted minis.

So we haven't seen rifles, but it's looking like Bolters are going to be barely better than lasguns, maybe worse depending on rules(iirc, right now they are worse cause Guard autowounds on 6 currently).

I've been suspecting they'll try to make SM players pay for Bolt guns to be what they should be, just like they did with 2W and Primaris. Marines should of just been 2W, but they made everyone pay for it for an entire edition and fucked up the lore to justify it.

T5, 2+ save(plus 10th is suppose to have more sparing AP) and 4+ invul base, Terminators are going to be TOUGH. I wonder what they are going to do to justify a Stormshield, +3 invul? A feel no pain?

Why post the stats of a bolt pistol for this? The stats are literally unchanged.

Pistols are from Intercessors data sheet, and it's just the two examples wife had so far off Bolt weapons. Plus weapons in 10th are no longer going to be uniform, each weapons characteristic are determined by their Dataslate, and it's entirely possible to have multiple weapons with the same name and different stats(we've already been told this will be the case for chainswords).
