God damn I haven't had a chance to even touch a paintbrush in almost 6 months. You lot are making me feel bad with your stuff.
@TheFelineJew Dat shading is fucking breathtaking. Good job dude.
@Malagor the dank omen Love the bright colours, really vivid and attention grabbing.
@That Chris Guy 'Eavy metal dude. Seriously that armor is TIGHT!
@Caddchef Yeah, we all know your scratch skills make me insecure... imma go put my rift on and play Redout..... nice.. tanks n'stuff. I'm not bitter. I'M NOT BITTER!

You mean the fights with the giant robots? I would've considered to be more like Battletom personally, especially with the armour and damage mapping.

After checking, i think he meant the new game out on Steam. It seems like Xcom, but without the cover system and permadeath. I just pray it doesn't have bullshit RNG.

I did my best with those Cawdor. Original color pattern is dark blue and brown, but i wanted to give 'em a special touch since i was planning on making them a gang specialized in using flaming weaponry. Still, i have to paint 2 more to have the minimum of 8 gangers, but i need to get new brushes since the ones i have are kinda worn out

I really like the new take on Cawdor. In old-school Necromunda, I ran Scavvies, and the current Cawdor are like a mix of their old fluff and Scavvies, which is cool.

The new Delaque would make perfect Genestealer cultists.

Just checked the new Delaque and they definetly would make perfect genestealer cultists, in the same way Cawdor make perfect Chaos cultists (Dirty, disheveled and rag tag).

I'm still rooting for the brutes that they implemented with the Cawdor, which are bound to be amazing. Also, much later they will surely put Scavvies and Ratskins in. And maybe even some outlanders like Eldar, Chaos and Orks (All mentioned in the first Necromunda rulebook)

As well, i have some Goliaths and Escher, but Cawdor are my favourite

Is it just me or has Spikey Bits and Bell of Lost Souls seriously gone downhill over the past two years after they sided with the Left instead of focusing on the game?

I feel your pain.

I feel your pain.

I never visit BoLS anymore. I wasn't aware Spikey Bits was a similar tire fire.

I'm terrible at painting, and worse, half my army isn't even primered. At least it's assembled, as opposed to one friend of mine who was notorious for deploying armless (and in some cases, headless) figures.

Had a convo with the guy at FLGS last weekend. It's interesting that GW is discontinuing metal models in favor of all-plastic -- although I will say, some of the stuff is definitely getting easier to assemble.

The painting gets quite tedious. I much more enjoy building and kitbashing, wish I had the cash to just have my shit painted.

*edit* Favorite conversion so far was building a turreted Shadowsword. Might get around to post a pic or two. Too bad it's just primer black lol.

I love painting and assembling. For me, it's relaxing as hell to paint and i love to see how my models progress into something nice. Also, i paint miniatures bit by bit instead of assembling them and painting them. Takes more time, but the finishing touch ends up being worth it

They've trying to phase out metal for many years now. The whole finecast fiasco was their attempt to quickly convert their metal molds into using their own resinmix.

Going full HIPS is probably a good move from GW as having their own HIPS equipment is probably their biggest advantage against any rival company that needs to wait in line for timeslots at outside factories (often in China, with all the problems that can entail).

I do however think they still manufacture a bit of metal in their time-limited made to order rerun of old sculpts. (At the moment it's some 5th/6th ed era Beastmen I think)

They do. I picked up Morghor, Master of Skulls during the Beasts of Chaos one, and Lord of Slaanesh on Daemonic Steed is still readily available.

Is Ghazghkull full plastic now? Was thinking of swiping him up.

I remember when Ghazghkull looked like this

His current forklift costume was incredible when it first appeared.

Ghazghkulls sculpt still holds up well I'd say.

Takes a lot of pinning to hold him together well if you use the metal version though.

The whole transition to 3rd Edition Ork models was the biggest thing that's happened for them beyond Ghazghkull's update (though same could be said for all 3rd edition really). Aside from a few fancy metal Nobz even the Gorkamorka/Digganobz Diggaz looked better beforehand. 3rd Edition models were a new golden standard and brought the true Orky flavour out, rather than the toe-tapping, gun-snuggling posers they were before.

I was actually hoping they could wow me with some new Boyz models in the same way the Primaris Marines came about, but it was mostly just this:

While I love the universe, I'm too ar(/u)tistically challenged and too much of a poorfag/cheapskate to play mini. So my exposure is largely Dawn of War 1&2(fuck 3), and extensive reading on 1d4Chan(though I have started the novels with Horus Heresy).

I had check out the last few years, so imagine my shock in discovering GW finally stopped fearing the 42 millennia and started moving the story forward. Robby had final ended his emporer as he is impersonation, and is starting up an emporer as he was impersonation. I'm still getting caught up, but I think the new Primaris bolters look cool, I like how they are treated as greener than Orks. I could see the space Marines evolving into using Primaris as rank and file, with veteran old school astartes being the elite veteran corp. I do like that they just aren't immediately the super awesome Better Marines.

I'm sure there are those resistant to changes, and that always opens things up to getting Nu Warsed. However, for a long while there had been all of these totally Galaxy wide threats that never have their shit together. The sleepy Necrons, meandering Tyranids, natal Tau, squabbling Chaos, even more squabbling Orks. The disorganized, selfish, backwards Imperium has partly survived on their enemies incompetence.

I don't know if they are going to push things that forward, but I like the idea of a few hundred years of the Imperium getting their shit together, so that they can be prepared to face, or participate in facing, some of these threats. Roboute cleans up the Imperium a little (just enough), the diversity is our strength commie weeb Tau become a larger power, the 'Nids arrive in full force, and the other factions wake up or quit jerking/killing each other off.

I think it's better than Abbadon leading his billionth crusade before going back to the eye to pinky and the Braining it over again.

Personally I think it turns the unique* Warhammer 40K setting into another generic hero-centric moving timeline, like Warmachine or Warcraft.

Instead of advancing the timeline or keep cramming in more and more stuff into the last few years of the 41th millenium, I would have much preferred that they explored the roughly 10.000 years in between the Heresy and 'present day', like the quite excellent 'Beast Returns' novels they released recently. 40K is (was) best as a setting rather than a ongoing narrative.

The advancing timeline doesn't appeal to me, so it's Heresy era or bust from here on.

*Yeah, it's all derivative but all the influences put together meshed into a pretty unique mix IMO.
