Opinions in the fanbase have been mixed. Some people have enjoyed the Heresy being more fleshed out, others miss the days when it was a semi-mythical event that didn't have much to it beyond "Horus rebels because Chaos and fucks the Imperium in the process". As far as skipping books goes, there are many different plot lines threaded throughout the series, so if you're a completionist you're gonna have a bad time. The best advice I saw on this was to pick the storylines that most interest you, read those books, then find summaries of everything else online so that you can keep up on the big plot beats. Skipping the absolute worst books, like Outcast Dead and Battle for the Abyss, isn't gonna hurt you that much, though.
I agree that there is a couple of books that can be skipped because they bare no consequences for the rest of the story.
The Damnation of Pythos is another book that can be skipped.

They have FW listed on their site.
Unless of course this looks like Forge Worlds site to you.

Only reason to start doing this is because they eventually want to get rid of the Forge World site and keep everything under one site.
The only time the page mentions Forge World is for the rules.
Hm. I'm not seeing them on the GW webstore, but when I went to Forge World's site they had two listings for each of those models, one that looks like the usual FW listing and the other that looks like these, but when I tried clicking on them it just gave me a 404 error.

Considering this is only available in euro sites makes it an odd conclusion that they are suddenly retiring a site. Especially when they tell you to go to said site for their respective rules rather then just linking a pdf (or putting up a listing for the rule book on the gw site)
So no, it doesnt seem like they will be merging the sites in the near future. Maybe if the heresy refresh goes well they will do that down the line.

They've said that they're planning to move most of the current Heresy lineup to plastic except for characters and legion-specific stuff, but they also left the door open to convert those to plastic later on (IIRC the wording was something like "we have no current plans to move those to plastic"). Basically it seems like FW is going back to being the specialist model site where you buy your big models and upgrade kits and then you get your line troops and vehicles from GW's webstore.

Check GW's world tab. They only started doing this from what I can tell. Difference between say the new Tyranid book coming out and the price there is only $10 on the site. When the Tau book was released I didn't see any FW models listed. Could be something they'll do going forward with new Codex releases, by that I mean show what Forge World has for options.

They've been saying this for around three years or so. Since it's taking too long I figure they weren't going to do anything.

I wouldn't mind plastic legion specific terminators.
Considering the prices they're currently charging for some of the legion termie kits, like the Lernaeans and the Crimson Paladins, I wouldn't mind that either. Truth be told, though, my real dream is plastic Mark II armor, or even just a made-to-order run of the old resin kit. I wanna add some Crusade-pattern vets to my Fists.

Ive been very busy the past few months. Doesnt mean ive stopped though. Working on Templar HQs and Bretheran

Update on Necromunda just dropped and holy shit I need all of it.

I hope you don’t have to buy the train section by section though. Also those bug rides look fringing bad ass as anything.
I've only ever played 2 games of Necromunda, but how would any of those fit in Munda? I got about 8-12 ladies of the LasLights for my team, and they would never get any options to fight armour, so what the heck?

It’s the new vehicle expansion announced in February.

Sounds cool and all, but I can't gas a tank.

I though Necromunda was supposed to be this ganger turfwar in a hive city, with a major focus on gangers, juves and specialists, not a 500 points 40K game with non-standard factions.

This is where Necromunda was supposed to be heading in the early 90’s as the vehicle that expansion was pitched for the game got re worked as Gorka Morka. I think they’re pushing for an infinity type game with this or as a stand alone expansion but with models and factions that get be used in original Necromunda.

Gotta ask, how big is Necromunda? Where I live and where I game, it's not even a blip on the radar. Nobody asks to play it, people barely have one gang if any.

People seems more interested here in 3d printing titans and titanic Nyds than play a dinky weird un-scaleable killteam-like game.

Not sure what kind of chimp they get to write codexes but Harlequins are retardedly overpowered.

Not had the displeasure of playing against them myself but there was a new player on the next table over with his Space Marines and he looked absolutely miserable being used as a punching bag.

I'm taking this as expectations that the upcoming nyds codex will be off-the-walls bonkers in term of power levels.

Just the terma having str 5 guns is already ridiculous.

The full Nids book leaked weeks ago and so there has been plenty of testing. If anything, 7ppm Termagants are close to the worst datasheet in it, even with their new guns.
Power creep is still at full speed. If Crusher Stampede remains legal, Nids are going to make Harlequins look like a joke, which decidedly isn't something that you want to say about a book that already has about an 80% win rate.

It's been already hinted that crusher stampede was a "prototype" of the hive fleet and the monsters have now a tag to use rules that would be relevant to it, instead of a full on army of renown-type thing.
