Galactic Military Elite at Any Size, eh?

Get wrecked Cadia-fags, this is Krieg's Militarum now!

Yeah, and I bet she's never been accused by another officer for requisitioning others rations either...

I like the new Kasrkin, I think they look fine and honestly I'm just excited to finally have them in plastic after all this time.

I don't hate the new sentinel but it sort of reminds me of the Primaris Redemptor dreadnought with its curviness. I prefer the old boxy sentinels but that's just personal preference.

Still not quite there, but man, getting closer every day. That's a $440 scanner ($300 off in kickstarter I guess? So $750 normally?) that MyMiniFactory just emailed about. Since Kickstarter has started being used as a glorified storefront for chinks, I'm presuming similar scanners are already available and there are better options out there.

But still, that's close enough I think it'd almost be fine for some 40k stuff.

Edit:

Oh, fuck, I misunderstood this entirely.

The POP2 is their old scanner, the MINI (on the left) is this new one. It's not a picture of the mini or something like that, that's the scan.

I think... maybe that's good enough for reproducing 40k? At the very least, it's damned close.

Rumor mill says a plastic version of the Proteus Land Raider is in the pipeline. I hope so, because I really love the RT era design of it.

Even through I'm going to use this stuff for 40k, I've been really impressed with how good the new Heresy kits have been looking.
Can't wait for my box to come so I can start building it.

Well I've done some talking with my local scene and it seems like I have an idea what our "local meta" is going to be for early heresy. It's not very interesting sadly. The people lots of new heresy players that never played 7th, it's looking like there going to be trying to be doing games were half the actual army is just the spartan and cataphracti inside it. God knows how long it will take them to learn that's not a great idea. Not like I'm a master heresy player or something. Just gonna bring a squad or 2 of rockets to melt it and end the games there.

Really hoping that they pick up that the game is somewhat more narrative oriented compared to 8th and 9th. Not "just putting models on the table and picking them up" like aos.

>there is a rumor of a plastic Proteus
>post picture from New rule book of a Proteus that is not resin

When do rumors truly stop being rumors???

Around the same time I stop suffering from traumatic brain damage.
Since there wasn’t an official announcement yet, I wanted to err on the side of caution.

It make sense sense that this would be in the lineup, since frame of the new Spartan is pretty modular.

I could eat my words, I'm going off the fact I've never seen the insignia before. Land raiders are pretty pivitol since like I said above, the Spartans aren't exactly a versatile choice. Would be necessary to make something as simple to use as a land raider in plastic.

Oh, I hadn’t noticed that the insignia is different that what is on the FW kit. The resin one uses the usual Aquila and this one seems more ‘legion agnostic’.

I want to give Heresy a try, since I got started when 8th dropped, and see how it feels to play with more ‘narrative’ lists and a deeper rule set. Mostly, I just want to see how my Warlord Titan plays, since Heresy uses blast templates and my resin monster has two quake cannons.

Right now is definitely the best time to give it a try. Don't know how far your titan will get you though.

Next Squat Lore Drop

Cogbois on genocide watch, Squats have sentient robots. They're ancient tech, followed the squats in their initial forays into Space pre-Golden(early or mid?) considered equals to organics squats and designed to be very hard to kill their sentience. I know GW never settles a mystery as an absolute (like the probably Man of Iron in Blackstone Fortress), but I wonder if this is a take on being a "is it a Man of Stone" speculation.

I do like that they have a similar asthetic to Kastellons. Both are suppose to be ancient tech from before the end of the Golden Age of Tech, so I find it fitting.

EDIT: Ninjaed by @HTTP Error 404 by seconds. I don't think they are Men of Iron, UR-025 has a much different aesthetic.

The robot from Blackstone Fortress outright calls himself a Man of Iron, so it's a bit more than probably... probably. Seems a bunch of Men of Iron survived the war and have been hiding at the edges of the galaxy, disguising themselves as Mechanicus robots.
As for the Kastellons, this I don't really have a reference for off the top of my head, but if I recall they're heavily hinted actually being men of iron, but a Tech Priest took a wrench to their AI chips so they're only semi/un-sentient Men of Iron.
Seems GW has decided what design they're planning on taking inspiration from for their future Men of Iron designs.

A retro look does certainly help them stand out from the necrons and tau battlesuits, but it also makes them feel less of a threat. I can just imagine what a sun-snuffers would look like...
