The BattleFleet Gothic PC adaption just came out in pre-release beta. Just the Imperials and Chaos (release will add Ork Pirates and Eldar Corsairs) right now, with only the prologue campaign and matchmaker MP. It's a bit rough around the edges in some places, especially balance, but it captures the feel of the tabletop spectacularly, including the devastating broadsides, positioning, and of course the desire to keep ships alive across a campaign (while you don't suffer a total loss, losing a ship causes it to spend 2 "turns", which are either actual turns in campaign, or matches in MP, getting replaced, and I think the xp for that level gets reset back to 0) instead of feeding into a meatgrinder mindlessly. There are some stability bugs too, but they only seem to crop up in the overworld section, like connecting to a match, never actually in the fight itself. I'd say it's worth a look if you loved the tabletop or just space combat in general. They also announced Space Marines as a "Release Order" DLC, meaning its free to anyone who buys it up to 2 weeks after launch.

Anyway here's me finishing a mtach in spectacular fasion. That meter at the top is a no-replenishable slow mo each player gets. While its helpful when ramming, most players just use it as a hitstick highlighter, which is fine by me tbh.

I'll also add that Blood Bowl 2 is getting 4 more races, and as long as you own the base game when one of those races come out, you'll get the DLC for free. Norse is rumoured to be in only a week or two, so if you'll want to jump on that quickly.

No one plays last stand. DoW2 is still inferior to DoW.

DOW2 took the least interesting parts of DOW and COH and left out the good parts of both. While COH 2 was a damn fine improvement on most fronts (To the point where its now the most played non-MOBA RTS on Steam), DOW2 not only didn't build on it's predecesor, it didn't bring anything new or interesting to the table either.

So, I have some Scourges I have yet to paint, and I want some tips. All my past attempts at painting are shit, even with thinning my paints.

I just want something I can look at without exiling it to the painting table.

So release is delayed a month, and as a thank you / apology for the delay, preorders now also get the 2nd DLC faction free when i coems out. I'm suspecting the publisher Focus Interactive is behind that not the dev, as Focus made the Blood Bowl devs do much the same with their DLC races. The first DLC faction was confirmed awhile ago to be Space Marines, the second is unannounced but smart money is on either 'crons or 'nids, as they were the next most popular in the tabletop.

Anyway new patch is out and Orkz are in and while Imps and Chaos are the "standard" races, Orcs are the first to have some pretty unique mechanics.

  • They don't have ship classes, only types. Instead you get "Kustom Points" at ship creation to choose a ships loadout.
  • By default Ork captains cannot be executed, you must get the chained squig upgrades.
  • Orkz do not have high energy turn thrusters, and can only boost foward, and MUST deplete their entire energy bar when doing so
  • They have a dedicated ramming escort.
  • Orkz cannot "Run Silent" unless they have Blood Axes favor upgrade, as Orkz are ordinarily too stupid to stop screaming at each other across vox transmissions.
  • Orkz get an extra assault action during boarding rolls
Also the usual beta rebalances, Chaos got a bunch of things rejiggered, the Imperial Nova cannon, which was the default strategy for Imps due to how rediculous it was, got nerfed. Eldar are still not out yet.

Ok so, firstly make sure your base coat is light and even. Citadel primer is good but any matt primer is OK. Next get decent, fine brushes, don't skimp on your brushes. Thin your paints but only a little and block in your colours working from the deep parts outwards. Don't fret about little mistakes, washes cover a myriad of small evils. Watch some tutorials online for washing and drybushing, even a badly painted mini will look pretty decent of the highlights and shadows look fairly good. Remember, drybrushing is for realism, line highlights give you a cartoon look. Practice makes perfect and don't be afraid to be shit at first. Post a few attempts here, anyone that laughs can go fuck themselves til they bleed.

Is this going to be a pc only thing are will this be available on xbone and ps4?

Oh, and because someone asked me earlier I'll repeat it here, each ship can be upgraded in various ways, but the most powerful, and expensive, are "favors". These upgrades change the cosmetics of the ship (most apparent with Chaos because the ship mutates), as well as giving some signifigant buffs. The favors are from the various subfactions in each army.

So Orks have the Evil Sunz, Blood Axes, Goffs, and Bad Moonz, Imperials have the Astartes, Mechanicus, Imperial Navy, and Inquisition, Chaos has Nurrgle, Khorne, Slaanesh, and Tzeenetch. We still don't know what the favors are for the unreleased Eldar or Space Marines navy is, and for obcious reasons don't know the favors of the unannounced faction yet.

It should be also noted that at this stage favors are also the only way to change the color of your ship, as the repaint system isn't live yet.

Sorry for the bump but:

You might be cool but you'll never be Imperial Fists cool, unless your a Black Templar.
Fists are superior to Templars though. Impossible to beat the Sons of Dorn.

Erm they are both Son's of Dorn, The Templars used 1st Captain Sigismund's Heraldry as there Chapter Heraldry during the 2nd founding, in the second founding Dorn kept the die hard fists inline with the codex, Sigismund took the old guard fists who valued honour and valour, and the name Black Templars, and Alexus Polox took the younger more level headed Imperial fists and they became the Crimson Fists who adpoted the imperial fist's iconography but in red to represent there loyalty to Polox.

There might have been another chapter founded as according to various sources 3500+ Imperial Fists survived the Iron Cage indecent, but the records are either lost or the extra 500 where split between the other 2nd founding chapters.

...except with a Keeper of Secrets.

Also BT (and the Fists to a degree) apparently hold true to the ideology of the 30k Imp Fists. Like they venerate the Emperor as Lord of Mankind but not divine. Pretty hilarious when they go on crusades but are like "nah he's just sitting down for a long while because he's tired".

Yep Rogal Dorn was the last hold out to the Codex Astarties, it was only the thought of a 2nd civil war that made him even engage in the iron cage, after the mauling they took during the battle of terra, that's also why the Templars say HAHAH fuck that nicely printed bog paper and are at legion strength, and at times why the fists have been too, the reason other marines an the inquisition are not botherd about that is because they are ball's to the fucking wall loyal an have proved it time after time after time.

Do the Templars use the Pain Glove as well?

Yes, and they also use other honour marks s well and the origin works it's way back to the 30k, Sigismund was really close friends with Kharn and fought in the pit's with him as a honor brother, and in battle adopted Angeron's tradition of chaining your weapons to your arms this became the Honour chains they never let go of, and the honorable combat of named champion in a crusade seeking out an knowing a enemy warlord are all still fist's traditions.

They also still have some crusade era ships carrying the names they where given, in honour of Dorn that still have Imperial Fists Iconography, with the Templars Iconography next to or under it. They also use Crusade era fists terms for some units, and some of the Dreadnaughts they have where imperial fists, and questioned the iconography change, in a short story that's now sadly forgotten.
