At this point I feel like we need a manual to cover this with a title like, "So, the corporation that publishes your favorite hobby has been taken over by woke Blackrock funded retards?"

I think the first thing I'd put in it is, "DON'T PANIC" and the next thing would be locate your trusty towel. Wait. That's just The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, ok scratch the part about the towel (though towels are really handy).

So here's some starting points:
1. An emotional reaction is what they are after, so don't give it to them. (That doesn't mean don't have an emotional reaction, just don't let them know. Iron Within and all that.)
2. Talk to your actual friends who enjoy the hobby with you and bounce ideas off of each other.
3. Instead of throwing thousands of dollars/pounds worth of minis away, just box them up and put them away for now. You'll thank me later. (I understand the impulse to toss them in the trash, but that impulse might pass.)
4. Find something else that you can enjoy while waiting. Trust me there is other stuff out there that you didn't have time for because you were focusing on your other hobby, and this will always be true.
5. Remember to laugh at every catastrophe the woke retards inflict on the company that betrayed you if you become aware of it. They don't want your laughter they want grief.

And I have friends that have been into 40k for over a decade that are gonna quit quietly(no more money to GW, instead going to recasters). To be fair it's not just because of female custodes it's because the newest edition has dogshit rules and every time I hear them talk about the game they complain about the newest Donut Steel OC character/unit that's OP and given to an OP faction. I gave up when the Dwavers were added and were so overpowered everyone with a brain refused to play against them. I knew then that GW was fucked in the head and treating the game like Free to Play vidya companies do. Going woke is the next step after quality degradation.
Yeah it’s easy to see this post is full of shit because 10th has been famously “mostly stable” ever since first balance slate came around. The actual complaints all edition is that the latest characters don’t do enough and that with the exception of Necrons the newest codexes don’t feel as powerful as people are used to. I’ve been playing for over a decade and the common opinion is that 10th is the most balanced we’ve ever had it(except gay eldar but they just got nerfed). Everyone who says they’re totally quitting every time a new thing comes out is always lying.

Why would you post something so blatantly dumb?

I started 40k a few months ago and the custodes are my favorite human faction. The introduction of female custodes, although pretty fucking weird and out of left field, doesnt bother me because i can always choose to not put them in my army, i can always choose to not acknowledge them. I get the outrage since the community is very passionate, but saying that youll drop a hobby as a whole for something that it is inconsequential is pretty dumb. If i went with that logic, i wouldnt have any hobbies. Not trying to start shit or saying that people are invalid in their feelings. Also Sisters of Silence are the true "honorary" custodes in my book.
The problem is unless you’re 3D printing you’ll just be continuing to fund this and encourage more from GW. The fact they have been blocking everyone and slip this in a codex isn’t a company that you should be giving your money to.

really sad hows there no really manly stuff for them anymore, its considered toxic if the protag isnt a girl or a twink.
Probably the most tragic part. I think as other masculine oriented hobbies fell to the tranny woke hordes 40k grew in popularity as a refuge and eventually the rot set in. Now there’s nothing.

Why do you defend GW so zealously?

Okay nigger. It's your word vs theirs and why would I take yours as true?

Just because you have no self control doesn't mean everyone else doesn't.

Yeah this is what the even remotely negative takes look like from people that actually play. You can really tell the difference between performatively outraged non community members and real 40k hobbyists.

The real outrage is how horrendously your army just got nerfed into the dirt
Seriously, it was the Codex leak that made me decide not to buy the new boxes. In terms of "wow these are not what I wanted, any more". The standalone Sisters under the new rules require a level of skill I don't have and am not likely to acquire. This is very disappointing.

Unless there are visibly female models we haven't seen, you can just not-have them in the army. I had no plans to invent any.

I don't know why they've done this, because 1) they already have women and girls in the hobby 2) we overwhelmingly play Tyranids and Dark Eldar already 3) the perceived barriers to female participation in the hobby aren't anything to do with "girl marines" or "female custodes".

Every girl who wants to get into 40K already does so, honestly. Introducing female Custodes who are identical to the male models does.... nothing.

Because I actually play the game and they never have. I don’t think it can be overstated that these people just listen to content farmers yap on YouTube and generate drama they don’t own models.

Bad news, all Custodes are eggs that are about to crack. Uwu guardian spear go spinny.
The "lore fandom" of 40K that mostly dwells on Tumblr and Discord is absolutely drowning in trans Sisters of Battle. Often former Marines who trooned out.

This has probably dulled my response to female Custodes somewhat. I have already beheld the horror. The Slaanesh is coming from inside the power armor

"The people who got you into the hobby and stayed after you left are lying and actually spending all they money on cocaine instead"
Honestly it would be a better twist at least coke is fun.

Gathering Storm very much seemed like it was supposed to be that, but GW stepped away from the precipice at the last moment, leaving pointless stragglers like the Ynnari (which no-one other than tournament grinders actually like) in the process.
That's not how development at GW works. The Gathering Storm was obviously intended as a lead up to 8th Edition (with a big jump in rules), the Primaris Space Marine line, and the return of a fucking Primarch. Models are said to generally be planned at something like five years in advance, and I certainly imagine that being the case for a project as big as Primaris Space Marines.

Ynnari was just a small part of the campaign, an experiment to see if people would be more interested in the various Eldar factions if they could be mixed. Time passed without the audience biting, so the Ynnari were then sidelined as a failure, hence Gav Thorpe's incomplete Ynnari novel trilogy.

Now the onset of the Great Rift is kind of sort of an End Times scenario since it clearly looks like a big step for Chaos, but it's really more like a shakeup to a new status quo sandbox setting since the narrative of the Imperium being in decline and besieged from all sides is certainly not new.

But this isn’t happening, anyone can go check BaC and see it isn’t.

Oh, and, because everyone really wants my opinion "as a feemaleee":

I think this is an absolutely terrible idea and I'm really unhappy about it.

I'm unhappy about it because although it's always overwhelmingly been a male hobby, there have always been girls and women involved, and unusually for an overwhelmingly male hobby (especially a 'nerd' type one), you generally didn't get treated differently, or made unwelcome. You didn't get mansplained, or shit talked, or penises in your DMs. You went round the stores in peace.

As long as you behaved yourself within the accepted rules of conduct and conducted yourself according to community norms online, you didn't get any hassle.

Now the fucking culture wars have arrived. They have arrived not because of anything the "female playerbase" has done, or complained about, or got noisy about. We don't get noisy about a bloody thing. They have arrived because GW has thrown a hand grenade into what was a peaceable hobby.

The hobby is full of fucking autists. We all know this. Everyone got on okay as long as we all forcused on our special interest of toy soldiers. But now the formerly-peaceful political autist section of the community are starting to bring the culture war they engage in elsewhere on reddit and similar shitholes to 40k communities online. (I hope this won't spread offline. I hope people will continue to be pleasant and respectful playing IRL even if they run their mouths online.)

This is not about "reeee wimmin in muh tabletop ruining things". We didn't ruin a damn thing; this isn't something we even wanted. But the discussion about it is, unquestionably, going to bring the position of existing female community members under scrutiny, and that is without doubt going to make common 40K spaces less comfortable for us.

Someone will act the fucking fool on one of the big forums; the mods will smack them; and the trope that "the mods are protecting the wimmin rarrrr free speech millions must die" will be born, like the shittiest Chaos god imaginable.

And then it will be not-fun to go to these places, the same way it is not-fun to talk about video games online in a lot of places post-Gamergate if people know/figure out you are female.

I didn't want that crap in my comfy hobby of decades. I don't know anyone who did. And I do not want to receive reflected crap from GW's stupid and purposeless decision. I just want to build fucking scenery and paint small gribblies. We are not some kind of fifth column, and now there are going to be people who treat us as if we are, and I don't like that.

My only question is, if the custodes can now, and somehow has always been open to women. Why the fuck are none of the sisters of silence undergoing custodes treatment? Imagine a tard army of stupidly powerful anti-psykers running amok on the battlefield. Could this be foreshadowing a potential removal of the SOS entirely?
Or why they didn't just turn Battlesisters into Custodes or such.

Yeah this always have been women shit is what really makes me MATI. Admit its a new development, sell your female marine body pillows GW, okey, you need the coomer cash.

But don't say it has always been so. Because I hate that. And I can get better waifus from Asia.

The big shame? They new female marine models will not even look good, and will suck major tranny ass.

May as well see the carnage that ensures and see it burn. Have a cute Chaos Roon. Kharn needs a waifu too!

Roonzerk39.pngGW1953487331.jpg The latter is GW's usual fare of woman faces. Choose Chinesium today!

Edit: We all know if GW wanted to please women they would have released yaoi space wolf and blood angel marines like Twilight.

It's not GW's regular modus operandi, no, but both games were at an all-time low (albeit much worse for Fantasy), the AoS release was a lower-stakes trial run that was received as it was and part of the Ynnari books involved retconning the War in Heaven to mention that actually, the Eldar and Necrontyr definitely allied against Chaos at the start and so there was precedent for an AoS-style death faction. Then GW got a new CEO around that time and started to course-correct in other regards as well.
That said, I won't deny that Gathering Storm (and Psychic Awakening in particular) did serve as a lead-in to 8th, so maybe I'm just being schizo about it.
