I'm thinking of putting down the White Scar paint first to let that dry, then I dilute a bunch of cyans/yellows/pinks/purples and lightly put them on top but make sure the white layer is still a bit visible underneath. Cautiously optimistic to see how it will work.

Literally. I know some people who just buy bunch of alternative shit planning to play it and just months later try to sell it locally cos it just collects dust on their shelves. I'd love to play Frostgrave or something, but only non GW skirmish they sometimes play is Infinity and I just dislike how it looks.

Finish painting my Kommandos. I got them based and did the skin but they have so many little details spread out between models I’ve just been dreading doing it. Also picked up the Resident Evil table top. Was debating on RE2 or this one but it’s the RE Remake and you have Barry Burton to play as so naturally I got it because that character is basically me (retarded and loves guns)

excuse the predditor link. The model's lovely. I've been thinking of ordering some of the Green Stuff World colour shift stuff to monkey around with some very extra Tyranid carapaces, so I was curious if you were planning on using that.

I have been printing statues and enjoying painting those lately, mostly old star wars related. Some free time later this week so have a large forest dragon printing now (3 plates worth) for painting later.

In currently working on an orcs & goblins old world army, I just built a bunch of spider riders. Currently I am finishing painting up some black orcs (I got em from the old AoS ‘ard boyz box).

Yeah, it does a great job of making Fulgim look somewhat sympathetic.

Also has Eldrad fucking things up for everyone by doing the typical Eldar thing of violently overreacting whenever the humans accidentally do anything through sheer blind ignorance. Like say carrying around a daemon weapon when you don't even know what daemons are.

I had to seriously double check to make sure that was a girl since Fulgrim is typically portrayed as bishie as fuck in that anime-like art style. Which is of course pretty true to some official depictions of the guy.

Working on some of the new Kill Team Corsairs to represent some of the crew of my largest Battlefleet Gothic fleet. For all of the negativity about GW recently, it's a great kit - it's basically an upgrade kit for Guardians and Kaballites, plus a lot of other fun bits and after spending a good while working on printed minis, it's always a pleasure to return to styrene models.

Mantic's (founded by former GW people) Kings of War basically improved on classic Warhammer Fantasy, even has its own lore that people fallow.

Warlord Game's (also founded by former GW people) history based Black Powder, A wargame with models and settings based off of military history. If you want to see Oliver Cromwell's New Model Army vs Otto Von Bismark's Prussian Army this is the wargame for you.

3D printing is always an option too just don't give GW your money but still keep the fire on them though. They need us we don't need them.

Regardless of how many youtube channels constantly mention One Page Rules, no one plays it. I've seen people try to play it, maybe a couple of friends who are both irritated by GW because of something they did that particular week give it a try, and then never touch it again.

I've heard Kings of War has(or at least had) a following in Europe. Never seen that following in the US.

Black Powder? Bolt Action I've seen sold and played in stores. Hell, I've seen events for it. There's a reason why someone thought that World of Tanks f2p grind fest could make for a miniatures game IP. But Black Powder? Again, it's one of those maybe someone can get a game in once a year type of things.

Hell, you're more likely to be able to find a game for Marvel Crisis Protocol, Star Wars Legion, or Shatterpoint than any of what you just listed and look at how Disney has been treating those IPs for the past decade. A Song of Ice and Fire has a decent following if you're into that. Conquest and Infinity I've also seen people host successful events for, so those also have a draw. I'd put Battletech on the "could find a game if you asked around enough" list as well.

At least you didn't bother trying to bring up completely dead games(malifaux, warmahordes, xwing, etc.). Don't get me wrong, I would like for there to be more games to play, and GW doesn't need to occupy 80% of the market while the rest fight over the scraps. More variety is a good thing.

3d printing is an option, but it's still a hobby of its own on top of the existing miniature wargames hobby. It's still not ready for prime time. If it ever gets to the point of opening a box, adding a bottle of resin, and hitting a button to just go, with no fiddly bullshit calibration, failed prints being a rarity, resin that isn't going to give me cancer because I looked at it funny but need to buy a fucking wash and cure appliance that might as well be another dishwasher, etc. then 3d printing absolutely will take off giving GW and some of these other companies something to worry about. But we're still a few years from that point.

GreenStuffWorld have a series of really nice colour-shift paints, check them out they might be good for your project
 
Saying “40k and GW were always leftist so this was inevitable” is a bit misleading. Autist nerds shoehorning references to Maggie Thatcher into their new game is vastly different to the beast we live with today.
They were punks, raised in north England during the miner’s strikes. Being against the conservatives is practically religion there.
Their anger and resentment toward the ruling party and prime minister came from getting the short end of the political stick for years in a major way, not from some multinational corporate propaganda pushed across the sea by the internet.
