With the exception of one player, every custodes player I’ve encountered has been some kind of tryhard that cares more about winning the game than actually having fun. the models are all terrible and they’re pretty much made to just destroy every other faction.
Is the one exception Henry Cavill?

I liked them because SoS and Custodes was such a fun dynamic in the lore and Watchers of the Throne was a good series. A shame really, I abandoned my army plans with them because of the Femstodes thing which ruins the unique relationship between Custodes and SoS. SoS probably weren’t the best tabletop wise but I planned on keeping a few on the table instead of forgetting about them like GW does.

Going through the Night Lords omnibus. Surprisingly funny at times but the ninth slave guy being a space boomer who gets upset because he thinks Septimus is insulting the Guard by calling their issue laspistol 'simple to use' got a good laugh. And of course he was going to join the Guard buut..

Honestly I'm not sure what's funnier, Dembski adding a Fudd defending the Space 1911 on purpose or he accidentally created one.

What the fuck even is this? It's like your phone was trying to autocorrect you while being ESL or something...

Anyway.

So not only did they have people showing up at midnight to pick up their shit. They then had people staying overnight to paint? I suppose the one funny thing about this, is that you've got people using what are clearly non GW products, at warhammer world itself. Meanwhile their regular retail stores act like a fucking gestapo regarding non GW paints, brushes, etc. And you can see it isn't just the youtube people there, there's all kinds still there at 7 in the morning or whatever. Hell, they even had the restaurant still open at 3am.

From midnight you get 9 hours to build, paint and play with the contents of your boxes, with staff on hand to help, make sure you bring all the hobby supplies you require, however the shop will be open throughout the night if you do need anything. We will provide a free undercoating service for anyone that would like to get painting and Bugmans will be open throughout the night with some food and drinks to help keep energy up and at 9am the event will end just as Bugmans begins their breakfast service!

Now there are your nigger cattle consoomers keeping GWs numbers looking good.

My excuse is I wont slowly continue to justify playing an army when you would clearly be happy playing a historical and only continue to play IG out of. IGfags are always the loudest and I have grown to dislike them purely as the fanbase has gotten worse and worse.

The main reasons why IGfags still play

1. Spite
2. You wanna look special Guardfags could play historicals and be much happier but they wont look special
3. Cadia and Krieg suck ass, at most I expect Catachans to be updated but I highly doubt elysians will be back.

Valraks rumors are GW are going all in on Krieg memers. Their 10th codex will have Krieg on the cover and around 80% of the special FW Krieg units will be plastic

not illegally printing the polka dotted sniper Cory from the planet run by anarcho capitalists.
Or the confederate planet which doesn't get models but I will legally print other stuff and call it those models and yell at anybody who questions me.
Also the deathcore Krieg have been ruined by redditors and homosexuals there used to be a cool regiment now they're just lame.

Xenos players always complain that they don't get a enough stuff yet no one is willing to buy any of this stuff also
I've never paid full price for anything GW makes doing the summer Floyd this guy an entire van full of the stuff that I bought off him for 300 I'm sure he got it 100% legally.

I would never advocate for people to go into GW stores and just steal stuff however they're really bad security so i've been told

I just want vostroyan firstborn and steel legion stuff.

How common is it for people to play allied stuff that’s available in the app but not in the codex? Yesterday I played a game against another sororitas list that had 2 knights, a vindicaire and greyfax in his list, which was odd to me because he also didn’t use any immolators or castigators. On top of that, he played every named character but daemonifuge. I wound up winning because I held my home objective and both of the no man’s land objectives.

Fairly common, especially recently with the change to knights regarding terrain(a custodes SoS detachment list won a GT a little while back, but really it was the canis rex that did most of the heavy lifting). The only catch is that the army and detachment rules don't apply to the allied units. Would be the same as CSM souping in demons and chaos knights. Inquisitors even come with a special rule that allows them to join in transports they otherwise couldn't use due to keywords as long as they're attached to a unit.

I think the detachment rules thing really hurt him because he could’ve used those miracle dice to help his rolls, especially since the triumph gives you a 6 every turn. He just couldn’t land any hits with greyfax and wound up losing her with the group of sacressants. The most annoying thing to me would be fielding something like a couple of knights and investing all those points only for them to be taken down and to score from a bring it down secondary mission.

Obviously I didn't see the game, but using knights as heavy support rather than their own tanks... kinda works due to the change since now knights can just bust through terrain and if they pass a 2+ on a d6 I believe it is, they aren't battleshocked. Tanks can't normally just go through any terrain they want(only really short walls) so played right... they could have used knights to bust through the wall and immediately get off a bunch of shooting after staying in cover. But that's usually only done so far with 1 big knight like canis rex, because 2 of the mid size knights(or 2 large, and no I can't remember their chassis name, ends up being too much of a points investment). It honestly sounds like whatever he was doing with using every named character is what screwed him.

Triumph of st katherine, aestred, morven vahl, junith, and celestine? And greyfax? That's 750 points of characters alone. So he's already got 1/3 of his army not really supporting the knights, which could be anywhere from 300-700 points depending on which ones he took, leaving less than half his army(I'm assuming this is a 2000 point game) to really be playing objectives and maintaining board presence and control(and like you said, you were the one with the board control) while giving up bring it down and assassinate fairly easily.

The two knights and the characters took up a lot of points in the game which were unnecessary on top of other units like the paragons and seraphim. I didn’t even consider the knights were able to plow through terrain, I just saw they were big centerpieces so I focused my exorcists and castigators on them and fished for wounds until I dropped them both. It was a strange list to see being played and he managed to go 1-2 in the mini tournament we’re having.

I was surprised to see them since a lot of players I play with don’t seem to carry in allies like that. I knew they came around after I quit but had never really given them any consideration.

When I say knights in lists is recent, I literally mean within the past few weeks because of this change

But yeah, 2 knights with all of those characters is kinda weird. If he went 1-2, I can only imagine it was due to someone where not bringing any proper anti tank to deal with them.

I’ve never seen people play them like that, especially since the cast majority of their infantry has a 3 toughness with most melee weapons that have ~4-6 strength. That means they usually trouble against most infantry swinging back at them, especially marines and boys. I can’t complain because it’s a +1-0 making me 2-1, but it’s still something to think about for me.
