Votann are just not real squats. They are knockoff starcraft midgets, the irony. They lack any of the old dwarf charm.

As for custom stuff, just don't sperg it at anyone. People don't have the time to listen to your 5 hour long epic.

A custom color scheme or heads are much easier to get off with than your own tank, the SPERGBLADE which has its own custom guns, or a new set of existing guns.

Your buddies may be ok with the Spergblade, its twin linked grenade launcher sponsons, its hull mounted earthshaker cannon and its turreted twin linked Bombard mortars, but a random you just met may nope out.

This is not to discourage you, if your friends and you like the Spergblade and have the money to get it made, sure go ahead. Didn't stop me from getting an Assault Marine with 2 power fists, or a Tactical Marine with 2 pistols.

I won't. It mostly exists as a way to make custom colours and third party kits without being lore breaking. With the added bonus of being able to make jokes at the table when things go wrong.

I was thinking of having them be based on Starship Troopers (the movie version). Service guarantees citizenship.

Funny you mention that. One thing I'd like to do is have a half-track for an APC. As far as I can tell 40k has no suitable unit I could use that as a reasonable proxy for since a Chimera is tank sized.

I've already seen plenty of Black Salamanders. Not Salamanders with their traditional black skin, oh no: African American Salamanders. With cornrows and afros and shit. Supposedly there are two mid sized knight kits, the old one and the newer one; the newer one came with 2 extra sprues to allow you to make all 6 variants, the older one did not, so only two variants.

This might be them just getting rid of the old old mid sized kight kits, especially if they're shipped in multiple boxes instead of one giant box.

That would honestly be kind of weird if they still had the older ones sitting around, since the listings for the questoris pattern knights have had the variants included for years now(the fact that GW lists a kit that can build multiple things, as its own individual items is a separate annoying issue). What I find more likely is they just didn't bother to do a run of the extra sprues for the additional options this time.

Regardless, I felt it was worth pointing out because it does mean getting the extra weapon options elsewhere. And while there are plenty of places(ebay, 3d prints, and so on) it's still an additional bit of effort and potential cost to do so.

Custom heads and such should be fine, but for casual games the weapons should be very easily identifyable. The APC maybe a bigger issue.
 
Votann guns, and vehicles just look ugly as sin. Blocky, clunky, crude looking pieces of shit, when they're supposed to have access to old STC's in such good condition that they shouldn't need to break out Mars rovers with gravity guns superglued to the front. They should be rolling up in Corvus Blackstars, sleek looking hovertanks and shit. Instead they just look like some Age of Wonders Planetfall knockoffs.

Ahh I remember this guy, Commissar Gamza, he was most known for his theories of "who would survive 40k" videos. He's was sort of like a discount Arch and much like Arch (iirc) GW kicked his teeth in. I respected him mostly because he called out GW for their shitty behavior and helped people try and get into 3D printing for Warhammer with even his own STL files even if his personality didn't really vibe with me. Overall, not really bad. Of course the same people who hate Arch also celebrated his downfall, such as MajorKill(yourself).

Gamza was a normal hobbyist once I don’t understand why he went down this path the fact he fully deleted everything is worse now

Went from doing terrain videos, to the stupid "would goku from DBZ survive in 40k?" type shit, to just bitching nonstop about GW, quit, came back on the 3d printing bandwagon and that went nowhere for him. Quit again, then went straight into the idiotic right wing grifting like all of the other channels.

The last time I saw him live streaming, it was probably around noon his time(I think he's somewhere in the midwest? regardless, it was the middle of the damned day), in the middle of the week, to an audience in the double digits, drunk as shit(slurred speech, looking like he was about to fall out of his chair) whining about one of the guys from miniwargaming having a shitload of chaos models(it was one of those videos where dude shows off his 80k points of a faction or whatever) but owns 3d printers, as if you can't do both.

Guy makes fuck all on patreon, fuck all from superchats on youtube, etc.

He's probably still mad that the bulk of the subscribers he has, are from his can Goku/Darth Vader/OptimusPrime/whoever survive in 40k and he never blew up beyond that, and trying to get on the GW hate train didn't work for him either.

He deleted most of it ages ago. There were a couple tirades he had also done about how he's such a good christian blah blah blah the evil left is trying to take down our country crap and all its ever done is drive away viewers. The buttermilk bob thing and the goofy voices never helped either. He comes off as a manchild. Unfortunately there isn't much hard documentation of this shit around still, because he would actually warrant a lolcow thread(or at least one somewhere on KF).

edit: his patreon failed because while he started with around 400 paid members, and was producing 3d models for printing, the stuff he was posting to his patreon was some of the most generic looking bullshit so he lost 3/4 of those subscribers.
This guy took a look at his tanks(toward the end of the video) and not only are the models boring as hell, the supports are fucked up, they're not hollowed out right, they're not lined up correctly, and so on.

His reputation was in the shitter as the thread you linked suggests as he became more and more engrossed with drama, even going after people who themselves aren't into drama. Combined with GW telling him to knock it off, he must have figured that he had no place in the 40k community in any way anymore and decided to take the easy way out and become a grifter.

Gamza also posted some stupid fucking list of content creators and put himself, arch, and a couple others on the "good" list as they passed whatever purity test he had, while practically every other content creator under sun was either woke, or a fence sitter because they specifically didn't include politics in their content, so they might as well have been "woke".

Much like with video games, I don't want to be bombarded constantly with shit left or right, I don't need it from 40k lore channels or painting channels either.
