I get that, its just that given the scale of 40k, you'd think that the factions would be more than four as the entire war has devolved into a rat race for supremacy against each other. Also where is Chaos? I'd expect some stint of Chaos given that it is consistent with each DoW game (Alpha Legion in vanilla + Soulstorm, Word Bearers in Dark Crusade, World Eaters in Winter Assault, Black Legion in DoW2 + all expansions). Also, fuck DLC exclusive factions, we don't have to go down the paypig path Creative Assembly took with Warhammer Fantasy and Total War.

Also, the reveal trailer seems mobile gamey. I know DoWIII is shit but that trailer has always remained kino and will remain so to this day.
Black Legion(generic CSM) for the most part is still just ubermensch in power armor, and other than DG the god specific legions don't have enough on their own to be an entire faction in an RTS.

As far as consistency, again... DoW4 isn't the same studio.
DoW2 didn't have chaos as a base game faction, neither did DoW3 so chaos hasn't been in the base game for 2/3 of the previous games. They don't need to be in everything from the start, since they can do expansions(assuming the game isn't shit and is actually popular enough) just like DoW 1 and 2. Hell, having Eldar missing while citing consistency would make more sense because they were in all 3 previous base games(even though only space marines were even playable in the first 2 base game campaigns).

4 factions for the campaign in the base game with apparently 70 missions is more than any of the previous games did. DoW1 had only 11 total? DoW2 had 27(and some of them were options so that wasn't even the length of a playthrough). DoW4 being the equivalent of a previous base game plus expansions was never going to happen.

On a different topic, I've mentioned this in the past but again like usual a lot of these painting channels claiming they've got methods to speed paint entire armies but never do, apparently after 6 years on youtube Squidmar is finally painting an entire 40k army(except it's not even 2000 points which would just be a list) and included a bunch of time spent om some dragon thing on a tau vehicle that isn't actually even a unit for the army.

How desperate are people to get into a game that they need to find ways to make the, arguably, main part of the hobby take as little time as possible? Not saying you need to go for some golden demon level shit for every unit but c'mon.

Because I hate painting and you can't make me like it. I have tried and it is stressful, time consuming, and expensive. I just want to throw on some base layers and call it a day so I can put my models on the table without hearing people complain that they don't look the way they want them to look.

A lot of people aren't good at or simply hate painting. This has been the case for decades and for more than 40k. The point I was trying to make though, is that a lot of the youtube channels that post videos about ways to paint armies quickly rarely ever actually paint an army to begin with so their slapchop and other bullshit methods they'll do on one model, maybe an entire unit, and then just leave the rest of the box of free shit they got from GW to sit in the closet.

This is why even 17 years ago, you had people doing shit like this with 2-3 colors on a model and then using a can of wood stain and a fucking power drill to try and speed up painting(this is where those cans of army painter dip wash came from as an idea)

Your imperfection sickens me.

Be the best or be nothing at all.

Just put the paint on the fuckin model bro, it's not that hard.

Painted rubrics to scare @Spilled Spaghett

It's been incredibly fun and mistakes can usually be corrected. My autism activates with some music and I go to town. I'm in no rush to get to playing level so I guess if you're just here for a board game it could be tedious. I don't even know where I'd display a full army

Mind the pokemon in the back. I'll probably go back over these guys when I get some more contrasts or things for highlights I like, but I'm especially happy with this guy's color scheme. Was very satisfying when I found the right color mixture for the base and peep the eyeball on the hand eye. Fuckin Picasso. Least favorite part of painting these guys are the jump packs.

Man these are really good. I'd be more than happy if I could get as good a finish as these.

I was reading some of the old games workshop comic books and was more then a little surprised to see what looked like a black Templar space marine as an Inquisitor. Can space marines be Inquisitors?

Working with the inquisition sure, maybe even part of an inquisitor's retinue. But a space marine inquisitor? I'm going to go with "not likely" due to a conflict of interest with their duty to the inquisition and their loyalty to their chapter/primarch/etc. The only way that wouldn't be an issue is if it was the last surviving member of an otherwise dead chapter or something, but they could just join the deathwatch for that.

There are inquisitorial space marine chapters like the red hunters, who I assume are capable of doing some inquisitorial duties.

Absolutely. Hell, the deatchwatch(under the inquisition) and grey knights do all the time. But that's not the same as having an actual inquisitorial rosette.

edit: Apparently midwinter minis is fucking retarded(moreso than usual) and thought this was worth posting

Yes, and they're going to do an ordered campaign like Warcraft 3. First Orks, then Admech, then Necrons and finally the Magpies.

DoW 1 and 2 base game and Chaos Rising were Space marine exclusive.
Winter Assault had some Imperial Guard missions and the other DLC was different factions each playing a near identical campaign.

Has anyone played the remaster yet? Is it worth it?

Do I personally think that 40k is about to collapse under stinkditch corpses? No. But some people are worried about that, and I think it's a fair concern to have in current year.
Sorry for bringing this topic back up, how have things been going lately with 40k in that regard? I haven't really followed the hobby anymore after they tried gaslighting fans by claiming female custodes always existed tho that was just the straw that broke the camel's back for me. There was a lot of other reasons prior to that which encouraged me to nope out.

I'd like to try to get back into Warhammer but I've had so many hobbies I enjoyed ruined to the point where I get completely doom pilled if I see even a small amount of gay tranny nigger shit or overzealous corporate greed. Have they been simmering down with all the retarded shit or are they still continuing down the path of death by a thousand HRT laced cuts?
