Do I personally think that 40k is about to collapse under stinkditch corpses? No. But some people are worried about that, and I think it's a fair concern to have in current year.
It was already set in stone with the Primaris. You thought Char Aznable's blue childrenT'au were bad, just wait how much they've retconned with the Primaris vs Firstborn shit.

The way they introduced Primaris marines made it seem like there would be a sort of Eastern Roman Empire vs Western Roman Empire dynamic, with the East holding on to more outdated gear as it was cut off from the west. I really would have enjoyed that dynamic as well, as it could have lead to GW taking a number of older models or even Horus Heresy kits and saying "Use these for the Imperium on this side of the Great Rift. Primaris for the other. Mix and match to represent your army's stance on which side of the Imperium they wish to hold their allegiance to." Asking for any degree of nuanced writing from this modern iteration of GW is a far stretch unfortunately.

GW's writing team these days are comprised of hack writers who consider Marvel to be the pinnacle of cinema. So instead of getting an interesting dynamic for creating inter-imperium conflict we will instead get another 60 lore blurps about the Primarchs struggling with their feelings and the importance of their communication with their fellow Primarch brothers. The way I have described the shift in 40k to my nerd friends who did not really bother to get into 40k is as follows: 8th Edition was to 40k as the Legion expansion pack was to World of Warcraft. You had one last effort push by GW to try to make everything work and give everyone a little slice of what they were asking for. We all saw the writing on the wall though towards the end of 8th (and Legion) as there was clearly a noticeable drop in things like art direction and effort. The following expansion/edition for both games went over as mediocre (9th Edition/Battle For Azeroth) before finally stumbling about with Shadowlands and 10th edition.

I think that we are only now starting to see the noticing of GW's slop being picked up by the mainstream consumer base who have seemed to largely reject 10th edition 40k and the increasingly lazy model design for a number of 40k kits (The Stormcast Inquisitor, Rogal Dorn Battle Tank, Blood Angels Primaris Refresh)

I know we are likely another decade off or so before the IP is entirely lost and sold off to some larger entity like Amazon or whatever however the writing is on the wall. Warhammer 40,000 is the next IP that will be milked dry and liquidated like Star Wars before it.

Sorry for bringing this topic back up, how have things been going lately with 40k in that regard? I haven't really followed the hobby anymore after they tried gaslighting fans by claiming female custodes always existed tho that was just the straw that broke the camel's back for me. There was a lot of other reasons prior to that which encouraged me to nope out.

I'd like to try to get back into Warhammer but I've had so many hobbies I enjoyed ruined to the point where I get completely doom pilled if I see even a small amount of gay tranny nigger shit or overzealous corporate greed. Have they been simmering down with all the retarded shit or are they still continuing down the path of death by a thousand HRT laced cuts?
Stay away from social media and don't buy directly from GW. (unless you have a bunch of money)

Just get what you like and find a group of cool people that'll play with you, or at least talk to you about it without talking about cutting off their cock. The trannies are mostly just an online thing, but they're certainly around.

Black Market Minis for recasts of middle and old hammer sculpts. Ebay for anything else.

I have been piecemealing a Warhammer Fantasy Dwarf army together and have just shy of 2000 points while having only spent about 150 dollars or so. You just have to be willing to stretch your hobby skills sometimes with things like stripping paint and whatnot.

Also another alternative is if you are up for it, try Bolt Action or Flames of War. I have met alot of really solid guys in the historical gaming community and they are usually very welcoming to people.

I forgot to specify i don't partake in the game itself rather I'm a lore nerd. My concerns were more geared toward the story going full pozz. Mike Brooks is shoehorning in tons of tranny shit for example

Oh yeah you are completely SOL then there man. Aaron-Dembski Bowden is a few years from trooning out at this point and any genuine talent at that company's lore department left ages ago. They are more focused on checking diversity boxes than producing a good story.

I bought the Necromunda rule book a while back and under the Cawdor faction lore description, at the very end there is a paragraph that was clearly edited in last minute that says "despite the gang's ban on women holding arms, there are Cawdor gangs entirely comprised of women whose determination to earn their place makes them even more deadly"

It stuck out like such a sore thumb that they may as well have just put a tranny sticker on the bottom of the page.

Also Age of Sigmar has an infamous lore blurp from some book show casing one of the Stormcast Eternals that, prior to going into the explanation of the character's color scheme, they have this line of "This character is a tetra, an ancient gender tradition dating back thousands of years"

GW cannot write lore than does not have hamfisted woke-corpo shit into it.

Has anyone played the remaster yet? Is it worth it?
For me yes, for most people ehhhh maybe? I was not expecting them to really change the game from the ground up with new content or anything. All you are getting is an update. It runs on modern systems out of the box, supports wide screen natively, and doesn't crash nearly as often. It also has new unit pathing which I can definitely feel when playing. Units have a much easier time getting around, especially in melee. There are still no rebindable keys. It isn't directly compatible with every mod out of the box. Ultimate Apocalypse for instance tries to render the UI at 4:3 and unexplored fog of war zones are pitch black due to weird lighting issues. Installing your mods is confusing too. You can't install straight to your game directory, you have to go into %APPDATA%, create a mods folder yourself, and put each mod in its own folder that you install it to.

For the $17 I spent due to the sale and veteran discount I'm happy enough. Just understand you are basically buying an update patch. They will be doing more updates to improve mod compatibility which is nice so they aren't totally done with it yet. If you put in a few hundred hours into soulstorm I'd say yeah why not? I've spent more on pizzas than this game

Everyone assumes he’s an edgy emo boy when he’s just a pretty solid guy all around.

Rate my marines bro, I just put some paint on
IF you cant even shoot some paint with a rattle can and use 2 metallics and 1 contrast paint then what the fuck are you even doing. (For reference: Ultramarine blue rattle can, whatever base color for the gun contrast paint, gold metallic, silver metallic). I assume if you dont even paint or hate painting that your opinion is largely irrelevent because youre not engaging with 1/3 of the core hobby. Its a Great Filter for retards.
my hands are too shaky since chemo
Straight up I dont know your situation, but I do know that if you enjoy and have fun painting then I think you should, even if its not "good". There are a lot of techniques that dont require a steady hand, and in a hobby dominated largely by the older crowd there are plenty of hobbyists with nerve problems/shakey hands. I wish you luck though friend, heres a few examples Ive found on YT of people dealing with that exact issue.

Painting is only as hard as you make it.

Paint 1 for base. Contrast is fastest, especially Baal Red for BA or Imperial Fist for IF.
Paint 2 for trim of base colour.
Silver metallic for gun.
Gold metallic for bling.
Black for joints and gun.
White + red/green/blue contrast for glowy eyes. Blood for the Blood God or Tesseract Glow if youre showing off. You can just paint the eyes the colour straight up, but contrast is just lazy.

Put one of the base technicals on your base.

Congrats, youve spent at most 60mins per model (if you have brain damage), done some real basic painting that no one will callout and it didnt require skill, let alone you doing more than slapping paint on brush and then mini.

I've still chucked a base coat on everything, almost tempted to just spray paint my guard green like those army men toys

Not a bad idea. You could easily get a really dark green Vallejo rattle can and a few light green shades and do some basic sponging/dry brushing and make them look like the green army men toys while adding some volumetric highlights. Sponging and dry brushing take basically 0 coordination and can pretty much always look good if you're just a little careful and deliberate.

Late and gay but why does Dawn of War IV have 4 factions? DoW1 had 4 but Winter Assault had 5, Dark Crusade had 7, Soulstorm had 9, vanilla DoW2 had 5 (4 only for multiplayer), Retribution had 6 and Chaos Rising had the excuse that it was Bloody Magpies focused only campaign. Really, not even Leagues of Votann (which was fucking featured in Mechanicus II).
I'd rather have 4 good ones and get some updates via DLCs and Expansion Packs than 6 halfassed ones.

Valrak is blacklisted on par with Arch, heh. That's hilarious.
