Well you cant directly cite them, your citation is essentially a google search and saying "look there it is".
I did, and then you decided they didn't count. So why would I continue providing more context?
Youre the one saying its prevalent that space marines are described as just "over 2 meters tall" and that being the only major descriptor
No, that's not what I said. I said
Just like so many black library authors wanting to describe a space marine as being imposing by describing them as "over 2 meters tall", while failing to realize they're just describing them as NBA players.
Which is true, and it was enough that it stuck in my head for me to comment on it. I think it's shitty writing.
Youre the one making the claims, so you should be the one to prove it. As opposed to saying "just heckin read my google search results",
I did, then you claimed that even with the context it didn't count. Also, google search results?
But because I looked around and found a plugin for this shit.
Plugin for google? Does that look like any google search results? It's the Quality Check plugin for calibre. I didn't state the name of the plugin or app, but I did mention using a plugin and database. What the fuck does google have to do with anything?
Your sports comment also doesn't have much to do with anything really, Doesnt the nba only comprise of like 5000 people or something?
The NBA was one example, other examples have been given with other sports in this thread as well as other levels of basketball play. But let's go with this 5000 number(even if it's wrong but you used it so we're going to go with that). That's one NBA player for every 1.62 million people on Earth currently. Unfortunately there's no hard number on how many humans there are other than "many trillions" and(some claims of quadrillions but again GW doesn't understand numbers). If there's around 1000 chapters of 1000 space marines, that's 1 million. I think maybe 5 trillion humans could qualify as "many". That's 1 space marine for every 5 million humans making them only 3 times rarer than NBA players. If we just assume 1 trillion humans, then it's 1 for every 1 million which is less rare than an NBA player. In either case the rarity of these scifi genetically enhanced super soldiers is still on par with the NBA with your 5000 people. So you're either just as bad as GW with this shit and don't realize it, or you really have no idea what the fuck you're talking about.
Will if youre sensitivity is just using that phrase without the context of anything else is enough for you to say bad writing, Id care to wager that you might be a little over sensitive, or perhaps over literal.
I never said it was the only example of bad writing, it's a simple and easily resolvable example of bad writing that the BL novels are known for. You're the one lying about shit, making numbers up, at least you finally quit double posting. But if you're going to say that anyone else is overly sensitive about a topic, look in the fucking mirror.
