I bring glorious news. Remember how you couldn't change chaos armor for "lore" reasons?
GW saw the money and said screw it. I can now roleplay as a night Lord for every class and wear any emblem. You want to pretend to be a regular marine with older armor and clean off all that chaos shit? Entirely possible, although the helmet selection is still rather limited. Its pretty nice.
Is Deathwing any good? I know it's made by the same guys who made E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy.
Deathwing was entertaining as a fan but it had flaws. The graphics and presentation are great, almost enough to overcome everything else, but it's lacking in both story and gameplay.
The single player story is pretty simple and lacking in texture. Space Hulk is threatening planet. Deathwing go in, retrieve shit and blow it up. There is a bit about finding a fallen signal and investigating it but all you really learn is that some poor chaos bastard got eaten by nids. There's some minor story elements they added that get cut off in multiplayer sessions ( all the mission briefing dialogue, opening party banter, minor cutscenes and weird brief flashbacks were you play as a dude fighting nids alone ) But your not missing anything. There's no twist or unique spin on the nids, its just the same old stuff.
Gameplay in said single player is... Well it could be better. First off, only three marines including you which is insufferable in a 4 player game. You cant give them more then basic commands and they can die easily if your not paying attention. (I played this shit on easy and it didn't feel fair) Secondly, simply playing is frustrating because your dealing with close and far ranged enemy's at the same time. You want to relax and cave in skulls in for an hour? too bad, here's 10 cultists on a walkway shooting at your ass from 5 different directions. Oh you you want to just go full gun? Have fun being bum rushed in tight spaces by genestealers, and being unable to effectively snipe cults with shitty zoom in. There's no flexable class that can take on most situations as they change. They try to make it a little easier by locking you in as a Librarian, but there's some weapons and abilities your locked out of as a result.
It's just not the fun Left 4 dead, murder simulator I wanted it to be, but for what it is with friends im sure it's great.
Also brief bit of sperging but why the hell is it so difficult to buy 40k comics? I wanted to get some for a newbie and the marvel comics are either sold out or priced at a 100 a pop
