Interesting, thanks, I only saw the article.

I am actually interested in HH 3.0 thing being a flop. Is there somewhere I can read more of this? I thought 30k had long been a profitable thing for GW.

I’m not too thrilled with Trayzn. Feels like it’s going to be big chungus Reddit tier, but Infinite and Divine was such a good read I’m hopeful especially with how well done everything has been so far.
I dunno, his apperance in that one Hammer&Bolter episode was pretty cool. If at best hes just gonna be this guy whom you can amuse with your presence and get a neat trinket for it, Im fine with that. I actually need to get back to Rogue Trader myself, was thinking getting the arbiter DLC, but may skip that one.

Of course, but it was an example of a video title from youtube grifters talking out of their ass. A lot of them love making videos with asinine statements that could be refuted simply by spending 5 minutes looking through a doc like I did or anyone else can since they're posted and publicly available. Obviously other publicly traded companies also have to release statements but you look at one from a company like Ubisoft and it's just mealy mouthed bullshit dodging questions, trying to explain away failures, double speak, and so on. GWs are generally written in pretty plain English and to the point because they don't have to try and dodge around shit.

Just like how I've got no problem saying I'm not throwing money at them when I don't feel like it.
I watched a video about the current state of TC not too long ago and it is ridiculous how little these motherfuckers know about running a business. Sad to see someone like Tuomas Pirinen involved with that shit show and also finding out that he's pretty mind-poisoned by Current Year ™️ politics bullshit, dude used to be GOATed back in the old GW days.
Finally got some time to restart Rogue Trader with all the DLC
Void Shadows is so fucking good. The lore conformity brought tears to my eyes. They perfectly set up how MAJOR SPOILERS a Gene Stealer Cult operates, the new companion is fantastic (and even after the latest patch still way overpowered), it's just hands down one of the best DLC's for any game ever. The only video-game-based-on-a-TTRPG-franchise that has better writing than Rogue Trader is Shadowrun: Hong Kong.

I won't preorder Dark Heresy, not after the utter shit show Rogue Trader was in its first six months after release. I put around 200 hours in the game before Patch 1.3 and even managed to beat it but it was an exercise in frustration because of the myriads of bugs, i expect nothing better from DH. RT, while much more playable these days, is still riddled with bugs. Getting Owlcat games at release is asking for being disappointed.

Despite that, i am so incredibely hyped for DH. Anything Inquisition is my shit ever since reading the Inquisition War trilogy by Ian Watson as a kid, can't wait to play my own version of Jaq Draco. The companions in RT were already great but it seems they're gonna top those with the companions in DH. Not sure how i will be able to explain how my Puritan Inquisitor has a Kroot merc in tow but i will make it work.

The writing isn't as good as in the main game or in Void Shadows but it still is a fun, little "episode". I only paid 7€ for the main game last year (via a key site, played the game since Alpha) and unlocked the DLC via Cream API so i can't say if it is worth its money.

I'd say the DLC starts strong (first planet is good, ship fight was interesting), but gradually sinks into mediocrity (second planet is ... very eh) and extreme contrivances towards the end, complete with gaping plotholes.

Nigger arbites is whatever though, and I have no idea who they got to write your responses to him because half of them come off as you being a sexpest.

That was indeed very off-putting, IIRC even in the very first conversation you can unsubtly hint that you want gay homosex with him. Much of the dialogue in that DLC sounds like it's written by an unpaid intern. My main point of critique for Void Shadows is the ending, it felt very rushed and incomplete. Sadly, so do many other parts in the main game, first and foremost the companion quests. I found Kibellah's to be one of the better ones.

I finally sat down and painted for the first time in almost a year. My hands have gotten so shaky that even knowing proper technique made blending and glazing difficult. It's going to take months to rebuild fine muscle. Feels fucking bad, man.

For everyone looking at your gray-tide and telling yourself to just do it tomorrow, do a little bit today instead. You never know when life or health may not give you a tomorrow with which to paint.

'Honoured Custodian,’ Prayto said, bowing respectfully.
The guardian had no helm, revealing a dark face criss-crossed with lacerations. Her great spear was chipped and unpowered. Her cloak hung in tatters, her heavy battle plate was tarnished and mottled with scorch marks.

From Ashes of the Imperium.

This caught me off guard, although I have no idea why it did. I knew it was coming. I hate it.

I really am liking Void so far, the companion is one OP as fuck chick and I almost always bring her and the Alderi sniper, cause man can they dish out some good damage. Also, thanks fo reminding me that I need to beat Hong Kong

I didn't say it wasn't profitable, it's plastic that costs them next to nothing to produce as long as they can make up for the costs of producing the molds. And of course sales of it to stores that aren't GW stores means they've made their money. But when you go around to game stores and see the dust starting to collect on the same stack of saturnine boxes for months(and can talk to people across the country seeing the same in their areas), the social media discussion of it fell off of a cliff(there's still channels doing batreps and things for it but nowhere near as many as the first month or so it was out when so many channels got their stuff for free) after launch outside of using the saturnine stuff to kitbash grey knights, using it for first born armies for 40k, etc. but considering GW seems to consider it one of their main games now instead of a "specialist game"(necromunda, underworlds, legions imperialis, etc.) it doesn't look like it's doing anywhere near as well as they hoped. Additionally the language in the report was pretty slim for it. They usually don't say too much focusing on specific games it's usually a line or two about how proud they are that they launched something, or discussing a faction launch, or that it's growing, and so on. HH 3.0 got half a sentence on page 9 combined with mentioning the start of The Scouring series and you can see what I mean by comparing the HH mention to AoS and The Old World right below it, or Kill Team above it when HH 3.0 launched in the timeframe of this report it's a bit odd.

Maybe it's Owlcat just trying to appeal to the coomer market within CRPGs? People can't shut up about the degenerate shit in BG3, and although the writing was better for it in Mass Effect as far as initial conversations go, it still gets talked about and that series is basically dead. The latest Dragon Age game was pretty awful with that shit too(among everything else wrong with that game).

It's hilarious how OP Kibellah is. I've cleared multiple encounters just by setting my little murder-blender loose and letting her rip and tear her way through whatever we're fighting while my RT and Cassia give her extra turns.

Exploring the ship has been great and the companion feels super OP but there’s been a few battles where I bite off more than I can chew and she bites it mostly because there’s sniper or long range shooters.

I’m still debating on doing the alpha. Right now I’m content with Rogue Trader but that Dark Heresy itch is creeping into my mind because I can’t stop thinking “This would be much cooler if you were with the Inquisition”. Only thing I don’t like so far are the companions. Ogryn and Catachan guy look cool but everyone else just feels so… bleh especially when you compare them to RT’s where, other than Idira, each one was awesome in their own way. I heard the investigation system is fun and an interesting addition

I pretend Tau don't exist in the tabletop setting but the Kroot mercenary companion is, next to the player character being an Inquisitor/Acolyte, the biggest pull for me. Ogryn and Catachan also have me hyped to no end.

Idira is the lamest companion in RT and someone who i never took along in any playthrough i did but i find her companion quest one of the best in the game. Kibellah's is hands down my favorite of the bunch now that i thought about the game again. I knew shit about Death Cult Assassins before and i loved the lore and how it was conveyed in-game. Isn't one of the DH companions an assassin from the four clades (i don't count nu-lore clades)? Gotta check.

Edit: Nope, no assassin. Too bad, i am hoping someone at Owlcat read the Inquisition War novels and puts in a female Callidus down the line to make my playable Jaq Draco fantasy come even more true.

Most probably. I only ever did one romance in RT (Cassia of course) in my many playthroughs and i really do not get the allure of it. Same for all other CRPG where that is a thing, it's funny how such an extremely weeb game mechanic made its way to become standard in western games.

Really? I just turn her into the Inquisition every time. Shes not interesting, annoying, and redundant between Hendrix and Cassia in your party. Shes okay early on and if you don’t know about perils of the warp you get that Act 1 moment of accidentally summoning daemons mid fight while escaping the planet.

Only interesting romance option in the game is Jae and that’s because she puts on the speaker system for a ship wide broadcast of your lovemaking for a funny scene of awkwardness afterwards.

Ah shit, i did Jae too. Forgot about it. She also gifts you one of these exotic animals which name escapes me right now. Another companion related thing i really liked were the bathing scenes, very goofy but very enjoyable.

I spent way too much time on this game and i really hope that DH will drop this year and i hope it won't be too fucked by bugs at release. Apart from the companions and the initial trailer for DH i am completely unspoiled and i hopefully will remain so until i got the game in my hands/on my PC. Sure is tempting to look for videos of the alpha, i am also pretty sure some sites have the alpha up to be pirated already.

Edit: Heinrix companion quest feels criminally unfinished, i hope Owlcat will flesh it out in some patch down the line but i am very doubtful they will.

Hearing rumors Friday we get the first "real" Female Custodes canon changes -- generic female custodes heads on a plastic refresh and a Female HH Custodes HQ model.

I remain hopeful they'll just ignore the shit to death, and they seemed to be mostly threading that needle until about a month ago -- there were two major books that came out since the codex did the diversity retcon that ignored it -- so who knows now? Progress only goes one way, yeah? You aren't ever allowed to undo a leftysperg change to your setting, that would go against their religion.

I am no hurr durr gendersperg but i am still pissed off by this because it absolutely makes no sense from a lore standpoint, which i find much more offensive than GW prostrating themselves in front of the woke crowd if they actually go through with this.
