Warhammer 40k

Will look into the brands when i get the chance, hopefully one suits what I want to do which seems simple but trying to panel line with a brush takes forever. Even when you put a bunch of flow improver in with the ink to get it to really move along the panels.
Yeah that's why I wouldn't normally bother with acrylics for that. They just don't flow as well as thinner enamels, lacquers, or even oil paint. Flow improver can only do so much as a surfactant but you're also fighting it drying as it starts to thin. Retarder can help but water based paint just isn't great for trying to rely on capillary action for lining.

Edit: now I'm curious what ink you've got that you're that set on for lining?

Finally wrapped up my night lords kill team. Used it to test out some gore effects and osl. Definitely a learning experience but I'm pretty happy.

Professor Donger, decided to make the corpse hanging from the banner one of your blood angels because the red of his helmet works with the overall color scheme, hope you enjoy.

Looks great and the pose is good imo.

Stick a WE berzerker or Tyranid in the claws
So I couldn't find a Berserker or Tyranid for cheap but my friend had the trophy collection lying around the house so I used a tyranid head and some rocks outside and made this.

Daler Rowney Ink. First white, then fluoro orange on wave serpents (Yme-Loc so Dawnstone will already be sprayed on). They have so much potential for this and im just going to drown the grooves with it. Flow Improver should help it flow AND stop it drying so fast. With a brush it will just be ass to apply.

I thought I could maybe do black lining on windriders but im not so sure on that one.

I will say though, some of the audio books are pretty good listens, I've been listening to the Devistation of Baal and it's been fun, and it's nice to be able to listen in the car
I feel that the audiobooks depends a lot on the narrator. Anything read by Jonathan Keeble is amazing.

Just remember to properly clean the rock with soap so they don't grow any mold in it.

The rocks will probably be fine, but remember if you're using natural materials from outside to bake them first so they're properly dry and anything in them is dead.

Ah ok that makes sense. And yeah the tamiya light gray panel liner would work(it's not pure white, but it's generally close enough and still neutral) but it's a bitch to apply but then you'd still need to do the orange anyway. Makes me wonder if alcohol link would flow better for that since it's available in a bunch of colors.

I think some of the best Codex stories I know are from the 7th ed Ork.

You got the Orks doing what the Brits did in Chariot and outsmarting the Tau by infiltrating their space station with their identification codex, allowing them to destroy it and leave the Tau battleship in the area without ammo.

You got the Deathskulls stealing a Titan, it activates by itself, goes on a rampage, and self-destructs, but the stupid Titan ends up causing more damage to the Imperials than orks, so the orks win.

You got the Snakebites seeding Tyranids on planets so they can have a proper fight.

Tamiya panel liner, or oil paint thinned with odorless spirits.
Yeah, the panel liner with a little brush that comes in the same bottle as their plastic cement (glass cube) is supposedly amazing for 40k. Paint with your acrylics, maybe give it a gloss varnish ('ard coat), panel line the edges of marine armor or what have you, then clean up the tiny bit of excess panel liner with a q-tip.

There's also Marine Juice, which apparently originated as a secret mix Forge World used and was popularized by Sonic Sledgehammer:

Warpaints Fantastic Dark Tone Wash 18ml
Lamian Medium 24ml
Reikland Fleshshade 18ml

Fits in a 60ml container perfectly. You can then put it in individual dropper containers afterwards.

There's also that new "Grimdark Shadow" (bet GW wishes they had trademarked the term Grimdark) wash that was added to the Army Painter Warpaints Fantastic lineup with the first John Blanche Masterclass sets.

Holy shit, they took the derpy old crab you needed bands to assemble and made it look badass.

Plus those god-marked heads show that this is a toy the cool kids are getting.

This looks so fucking sick and I love the IW specific options they're giving it too. Saw some trannies on an IW discord complain there was "too much flesh" which is retarded.
Well IW, NL and AL secondaries seem to have an issue with the “CHAOS” part of Chaos Space Marines because their entire understanding is based on YouTube videos.

The chad cult legions do not have this problem.

It even has a generic skull head to match the old one besides the IW skull, very kino. My only real concerns over it is if it's still on a 160mm. Even if you wanted to use it as a gun platform, which has traditionally been a bad idea (and why wouldn't you just take a forgefiend), you cant let it sit on the backline with all the LoS blocking terrain footprints, and you cant really occupy them to shoot out of either. It also has a reputation as a distraction carnifex more than anything - and not really ever getting to shine. You can magnetize the arms from the looks but then you have to chop off the power cables. I'm still buying at least two but theres a lot going on here.

More Ork side box rumors today from CM Val building off the previous
  • 5 HQs (Warboss, Boss Nob, Banner Nob, Wierdboy, Painboy)
  • 20 boyz (monopose but new, standalone wont be)
  • The gun platform has legs

Glad they're throwing us ECfags a bone after they gutted our codex last year. Hopefully this means we'll be getting some more options back come 11th.

See, this aligns with my warp-given prophecy that the most glaring omissions in our range were things that are coming or are being replaced.

Either the Helbrute is getting updated or the cult legions are getting their unique dreadnoughts back.

I’m just shocked they actually were cool with the Defiler update, all the heads are nice, it’s not overdesigned, it balances the fleshmetal aesthetic and the autistic lines in the sand mentality was for once not in play, meaning all the chaos chads get to use the new shiny.

And the secondaries complaining about the Iron Warriors having flesh on one of their models can continue to be no models faggots.

An ill star passes overhead and I have been granted a premonition: they're gonna butcher the Defiler by spreading it out into 3 different datasheets each with its' own predetermined, unchangeable loadout.

Best part about the new defiler is it fits on a base rather well with no more arguments about if you can actually shoot the damn thing or not.

Decided to smoke a cigar and fuckin CRANK out the Lord Commander himself. I got some masking putty so hopefully Im going to do all my BA power weapons in one go at some point.
