HH is too long a tale, even when focussing on the major major plot points. I could see a somewhat bare bones (skipping many books) series being made, but not for a long time.40k just doesn't need live action. It lives best on the tabletop and in books. Whatever is on screen is going to disappoint, either be too much or too little and feel dissatisfied. Worse is that it'll make 40k more welcome to a wider audience. It's bad enough we lost gatekeeping because of Wikipedia making obscure stuff accessible, but by the Emperor I can't image how terrible the waves of new fans will be after this. Also is he doing Horus Heresy or sticking with 40k? HH would be a disaster. 40k I hope he just runs some TTRPG game story he had instead of a full deep dive into established books.
Its going to be played safe. No big campaigns, no main characters etc. Will probably be an Inquisitor in the background of something so whatever the show does, doesnt impact the lore too much. If youve ever read Infinite and Divine, its probably going a similar route where Necron names of shit are thrown at you but with context clues you can figure it out.
Gives the audience a taste of the 40k universe. I will be very surprised if they used major characters and stories.
