Likely wasn't intentional with the timing, there was an image floating around of a box fished out of a trashcan earlier, and 8pm in the UK even on a Friday was likely still early enough to make someone post a warcom article and send an email about it. And this definitely isn't the first time things have been discovered in the trash from GW(Magnus got leaked this way)
image-2081.pngIMG_1885.png

There's a bunch of talk about it being a leak for 11th. I doubt that. There's probably still another narrative book or two to go before the end of 10th, and from the warcom article
Warbosses rarely come alone. This might not be the ONLY new Ork on the way, so you WILL definitely want to check back on Monday.

The rebranding of everything GW to Warhammer continues apace. This time it's Citadel Colour.
I actually dislike this move even though it toally makes sense to put their big brand on everything.

Citadel gave GW a foot in the hobby camp. Paint, tools etc. Sometimes having a different name can shield you from the other side of things. Forgeworld did something different to the mainline models and was seen as seperate.

I'd like Citadel to have expanded their hobby range and try and compete at least a little. Instead its just there to sucker someone in who doesnt know better.

This podcast is a great interview with one of the hobby product designers from GW regarding why some products don't exist, why some others do, and so on.

But it basically boils down to
"can we make our expected margin on this?"
"can we market it as being child safe?"
"can we market this to someone's mom in a game store as being a necessary product for participating in the hobby?"

Citadel was also conceived at a time when GW was making a variety of games not called Warhammer. But of course now Warhammer has bigger brand recognition than ever, which prompted GW to consolidate branding for the past many years. Regarding paints in particular, when GW's is being placed alongside racks of competing brands in the same game store, you can see how GW wants to signal to shoppers "THIS IS THE OFFICIAL PAINT FOR WARHAMMER".

Valrak claims that dropper bottles are still going to come, possibly at around the time of 40k 11th Edition this summer. So this would be GW using up their last stockpile of infamous pots.

On a related note, I saw this pop up in my YouTube recommendations, indicating to me that Arch continues to be a naysaying clown as usual.

I'm reminded of when Arch displayed his brilliance in business analysis by claiming that GW's mini-boardgames they sell at common big retail stores like Barnes&Noble indicate that GW is giving up on complex wargames to instead reorient to such simpler board games. It seemed like it never occurred to him that those board games are clearly intended as an entry point to ultimately guide new customers to the full wargames and hobby.

Is he aware of how stupid he looks with 2 pairs of headphones? Or is this his idea of making some kind of "statement"?

Hell, those big box games have also done some other stuff like provide another way to get that honored of the chapter sprue for space marines at less than half the normal cost, and GW knowingly driving customers to retailers like Target and B&N that carry such things and seeing possibly swift sales as a result.

What product, let alone game has Arch ever sold? Oh wait, fucking nothing.

edit: Because his retarded thumbnail popped up on my screen(without the headphones)

"Because Tourists..." no you fucking mongoloid. It's because they want a unifying brand name since it's been fucking forever since they've had a product that isn't "warhammer"

They even knew they were going to get that one fucking retard that asks if it's the same paint as citadel and mocked it in the video. Fuck, when even was the last time they released a game that wasn't warhammer something? Technically Stormvault in 2019? Bloodbowl I guess didn't specifically have Warhammer in the name anywhere. MESB's last big release in 2024? Bugman's Game from 2009? It's clear they want warhammer to be the brand with 40k, HH, AoS, and ToW being variations of "warhammer". And tourists going as far as buying minis and then a bunch of paint to go with them? That's basically GWs ideal customer. Buys a bunch of shit and then never says anything again.

Funny, I already had the thought that Arch might have an AI face in the thumbnail, but I didn't focus enough to notice the two pairs of headphones. I guess he didn't either until comments remarked on it once he posted. Glad I happened to catch it in a screenshot, then.

It appears that all GW model products have the Warhammer logo on the front corner of the box now. Including games like Blood Bowl that technically are not called Warhammer.

I actually forgot about "Citadel Miniatures" until comments on the paint announcement video reminded me of it. That brand name still appears on the back of boxes. For now.

Arch is as much of a tourist as the faggots on YouTube who think they’re experts cause they watch vids.

No models, no games, wiki-skimmer, gay fake accent and low iq. He can fuck off.

Yeah, and there's no reason to keep it there since outside of MESB(which is still GWs game even if the IP is licensed) Citadel doesn't make miniatures for any other companies or really games anymore like when they first started as a company/retailer.

But I'm sure Arch would bitch about that as well, not that it matters to him in any way since he's a fucking tourist himself.

Actually, "Citadel Miniatures" is also on the front of boxes when there's a model count. So if the Citadel brand name goes entirely, there has to be a different label for the model count. Perhaps "Plastic Miniatures" since I don't think there's anything resin or metal that's put in packaging with a printed model count.

I'm surprised that to this day, no one has ever thought of reading the Lexicanum wiki.
Do better. Read the game books.

Would have been better if there were buyable versions of these books just to get the kickass physical covers but downloading is better I guess.

They still use resin. Most of the auxiliary units in Necromunda are resin and there's oddball minis in The Old World that are still resin that are mostly old stuff. For some reason, the one named Beastmen character that was released last year that's resin. Have a personal theory it was gonna be used for Slugtongue or they were gonna make a new character for a new codex before they went the End Times route instead.

His argument seems to be that they're dumbing shit down as part of an attempt to turn GW products into "The Warhammer Brand" like how Marvel turned their shit from a line of comics and associated products to "The Marvel Brand." More people than ever wearing a t-shirt with the Captain America shield on it while the actual Captain America comics are abysmal dogshit -- but who cares about what a bunch of nerds obsessed with comic books care about?

Yeah the Warhammer paint pots still suck dick and you get less than a teaspoon of paint in them for $7-9 each but who cares, we have licensed Purity Seal Air Fresheners to sell. Subscribe to Warhammer+.

feels like I'm having an especially hard time getting this glorious Chinese resin cleaned - can I just let them soak in simple green for 12 hours and then rinse? The quick wash in soap feels like its not doing the job.

To be honest years ago I used to like arch's lore channel but he is such an unbelievably disgusting coward. Hopefully he continues to seethe weekly, year over year about how the PENDULUM is FINALLY SWINGING as he slowly dwindles into a corn cob (or however you ridicule people you dislike these days)

I think accidentally sending out Dante early to a guy was the best one.

Are you passively letting the resin rest in soap or are you using a soft toothbrush. Some release agents need scrubbing action which is why some modelers buy ultrasonic cleaners.

Letting resin soak in anything is generally a bad idea(you've got no way of knowing how the 2 part resin will react, you could have a situation like it leeching out material and ending up as a rubbery mess). It shouldn't take much effort beyond a few seconds of lightly scrubbing with an old toothbrush and some water with a little dish soap in it.

"dumb grifting faggot" would be appropriate.
