I'm surprised it took this long. With how casually they announced his death I swore they were setting up a new model and a campaign book that reveals he survived.

It costs 20 billion Royal Family Funbucks to make a new figure and they have to cross reference the library of Alexandria to make sure they don't step on the toes of the fluff in a mobile gacha. Give em a break.

I know this is gonna sound like a meme lore question, but apparently is from a book, i Saw an art meme where a space marine grimaldius apparently had to endure bureaucratic work for 9 days and that apparently he had to endure the complains from traders, nobles and unions?

Which makes me question why is there unions on Warhammer 40k? And how do they work? I know is kinda a shit nobody cares about in general lore but honestly this type of niche lore thing is kinda why i like Warhammer 40k.

The Eisenhorn - Ravenor - Bequin series also covers it pretty well. The Chris Wraight novels kinda give some glimpses here and there but it's from the perspective of an inquisitor mostly interacting with custodes, space marines, and the various arms of the administration on Terra.

Hopefully that new pair of books, Hive from Dan Abnett does a better job. He's a decent author when he doesn't have a gun to his head from GW demanding he write something to support the latest releases.

Basically depending on who you ask the AdMech either makes everything and has a complete monopoly on manufacturing or they only make the really advanced stuff and the boring shit is made by regular imperials.

And while by volume most imperials live in hive cities that are also totalitarian hellholes civilised worlds are also a thing and they have the quality of life roughly comparable to modern day earth and allow for a fair amount of freedom, including presumably unions.

Krieg was a spinoff of Steel Legion that got more attention. The most I would expect is a made to order rerun of the old metal models like they are doing with the old marines currently on the website. I'm just waiting for the rules to drop so he's better in every way than Drier and cheaper to boot.

Krieg already existed before the Armageddon supplement/models. Someone just thought they'd make good proxies.

It's been done for some time. According to him they held off on releasing it till the Siege was done, but here we are.

Krieg already existed before the Armageddon supplement/models. Someone just thought they'd make good proxies.

You could already see the krieg influence in the steel legion models though, it makes sense why they got left in the dust over the more iconic looking krieg. The Lt. model shows a pretty good midpoint in terms of influence.



I will say the Steel Legion fit in slightly better with the existing Guard lineup at the time like the Tallarn and Valhallans. It's a shame we don't get more kill team model lines to use as variants.

It's been done for a while now, there's been multiple quotes from him over the past couple of years saying as much but that's the most direct one from his own facebook page. Claims about the specific reason for the hold up are other books, a new edition of 40k, the Henry Cavill show, etc. but we're likely not going to know until GW eventually just decides to release it.

I doubt we'll see Steel Legion even as a killteam, I feel like they want to keep the guard lines to just Catachan, Cadians and Krieger since their gay army variants already cover mechanized infantry, Krieg had too much meme power even though arguably the SL had more weight considering how much importance they give to Armageddon

I wouldn't be shocked if Vostroyans got something eventually. After Catachans get some love I expect a kirkland brand version of the Vrakks traitor milita if only because there's a trend of turning old FW kits into plastic. Give Tempestus over to Imperial Agents or something and let that be an excuse for generic guard tanks in house.
