I'm surprised it took this long. With how casually they announced his death I swore they were setting up a new model and a campaign book that reveals he survived.
It costs 20 billion Royal Family Funbucks to make a new figure and they have to cross reference the library of Alexandria to make sure they don't step on the toes of the fluff in a mobile gacha. Give em a break.

I know this is gonna sound like a meme lore question, but apparently is from a book, i Saw an art meme where a space marine grimaldius apparently had to endure bureaucratic work for 9 days and that apparently he had to endure the complains from traders, nobles and unions?

Which makes me question why is there unions on Warhammer 40k? And how do they work? I know is kinda a shit nobody cares about in general lore but honestly this type of niche lore thing is kinda why i like Warhammer 40k.
there arent too many looks into hive city life but there is an implication that some of the areas have slightly normal looking institutions like unions or syndicates that are probably full of imperium compliance glowies that dont make them work like they should (just like actual unions eyy) iirc in one of the armaggedon books there is a pretty badass bit where some industrial cargo union workers weld themselves into cranes and somehow stop ork gargants with them

The Eisenhorn - Ravenor - Bequin series also covers it pretty well. The Chris Wraight novels kinda give some glimpses here and there but it's from the perspective of an inquisitor mostly interacting with custodes, space marines, and the various arms of the administration on Terra.

Hopefully that new pair of books, Hive from Dan Abnett does a better job. He's a decent author when he doesn't have a gun to his head from GW demanding he write something to support the latest releases.

God that was just...yeah I'm tempted to get this model. Fantastic video for a neat model.
Must be desperate now if they're just bringing in someone they pointlessly killed off in a paragraph and they're not replacing him with someone with a vagina.
As soon as the guy was shot (which was obviously coming) I figured it would be a "strong and powerful girlboss," pleasantly surprised. INB4 "omg you're so obsessed with women" or something silly like that.
I suppose him being gay gave him a bit of plot armor
Married to his work, uses his faith and Ork skin for "protection."

Arkan Confederates, an entirely CANON regiment inspired by the Confederated States of America.
You know, it is ironic how the idea is "The Imperium as a whole is evil and cruel", but some fans will be taken back by a faction being inspired in real world governments who got a bad reputation.
"I like my guard force that killed 500 billion citizens for revolting, but I draw the line at them cosplaying as 19th century britain"

Basically depending on who you ask the AdMech either makes everything and has a complete monopoly on manufacturing or they only make the really advanced stuff and the boring shit is made by regular imperials.

And while by volume most imperials live in hive cities that are also totalitarian hellholes civilised worlds are also a thing and they have the quality of life roughly comparable to modern day earth and allow for a fair amount of freedom, including presumably unions.

Krieg was a spinoff of Steel Legion that got more attention. The most I would expect is a made to order rerun of the old metal models like they are doing with the old marines currently on the website. I'm just waiting for the rules to drop so he's better in every way than Drier and cheaper to boot.
Krieg already existed before the Armageddon supplement/models. Someone just thought they'd make good proxies.

Edit: Speaking of which. I love this art they got here.

Also just realized the FW tank commander seems to be directly inspired by it.

You could already see the krieg influence in the steel legion models though, it makes sense why they got left in the dust over the more iconic looking krieg. The Lt. model shows a pretty good midpoint in terms of influence.

I will say the Steel Legion fit in slightly better with the existing Guard lineup at the time like the Tallarn and Valhallans. It's a shame we don't get more kill team model lines to use as variants.

When is that nigger gonna get around to writing Pandemonium?

It's been years since Bequin Book 2 released.

It's been done for a while now, there's been multiple quotes from him over the past couple of years saying as much but that's the most direct one from his own facebook page. Claims about the specific reason for the hold up are other books, a new edition of 40k, the Henry Cavill show, etc. but we're likely not going to know until GW eventually just decides to release it.

I doubt we'll see Steel Legion even as a killteam, I feel like they want to keep the guard lines to just Catachan, Cadians and Krieger since their gay army variants already cover mechanized infantry, Krieg had too much meme power even though arguably the SL had more weight considering how much importance they give to Armageddon

I wouldn't be shocked if Vostroyans got something eventually. After Catachans get some love I expect a kirkland brand version of the Vrakks traitor milita if only because there's a trend of turning old FW kits into plastic. Give Tempestus over to Imperial Agents or something and let that be an excuse for generic guard tanks in house.

I do think they are some type of vertical union that is compliant with the "state" of the civil world they are on, so they don't strike or whatever.

We already got shitty plastic traitor guard in the retarded blooded killteam. So I doubt they would re run the Vraks shit since it would also imply something fun like chaos imperial guard that I simply think they can't do anymore. Because what, 10th is like months away from being shoah-ed and they JUST shoved in shitty custom character rules in a magazine very few people buy unless it has plastic? When they have a perfectly good and updated internet platform for general news announcing

Nu Hammer fags not understanding that the man was telling the guard to abandon billions of lives because he was afraid is hilarious.

The governor would have been arrested and then court marshaled irl if he tried doing this. The T'au would have killed him on the spot if he was one of them and had tried doing this.

These leftist fags don't understand that in total war where your enemies are going to enslave you at best and kill you in horrible ways at worst you don't tell the soldiers to fucking run.

It also gives planetary governors something to be doing, so they can have the local PDF or arbites do some plot related union busting.

Hell, these retards likely don't even understand that the opponent in this case are orks, which are known in 40k to enslave and eat humans. But not understanding shit like that is par for the course. They're also likely stupid enough to think "well maybe if they just gave up and left the orks alone" while forgetting that the orks will eventually spread out from wherever they're at for a waaagh putting even more lives at risk elsewhere.

I could’ve sworn they do limited releases of some guard models.

It’s moral cowardice and abandoning a strategic point to the enemy. That’s BLAM land for anyone regardless of their position. If things were going that bad they’d just Exterminatus the entire planet and shrug, but considering they’re committed and iirc Armageddon does hold significant value, it’s pure dereliction of duty.

Much they could still do that doesn't have proper analogues. I dont think more chaos guard support is unlikely given how popular Darktide is//was. To me its a when not an if.

It shows how ignorant a lot of these Warhammer tourists are. Armageddon is as important as Cadia at least in the eyes of imperial designations. They aren't just going to leave the world and anyone who says otherwise is getting a bullet.

The fact that they think the Orks would just stop after Armageddon is also just hilarious
