Some of the media this universe has created really needs to be validated as the important folk art it is. I'm just stumbling into the mass of 40K lore as of late and I think this universe does the amazement/horror thing better than any other franchise.

I'd like to know more about cultural rebellion within the imperium that is not a wedge being used by the forces of chaos. Is there such a thing?

Here's some info.

Some humans willingly join the Tau Empire. Still others are enraptured by the glory of the "People's" Rebellion, comrade.

Every now and again there is some planet that goes "hey, fuck the Imperium, let's secede", because they have legitimate or semi-legitimate grievances with the way the Imperium is doing things. They usually wind up getting bitchslapped back into line a few years or decades later, provided Chaos or someone else doesn't get to them first. The way things go in the 40K 'verse, it can take a very long time for the bureaucracy to notice when some minor colony stops sending in its tithes.

I find a good measure of the creativity at play in a universe to be a catalog of its fictional drugs. 40K does not disappoint. Where can I read more about how drugs are used in 40K?
The stuff on the blade and cog was fascinating.

The most famous use of drugs in 40K is for the Eversor assassin. They take a biologically engineered assassin, jack him full of drugs that turn him into a blood-crazed psychopath, and drop on him on someone who needs to be killed as hard as possible. The drugs in question are so addictive and toxic that the Eversor's immune system has to specially tailored to withstand them, and they're kept in cryosleep between missions. If an Eversor dies, the drugs react so violently that they make him explode.

Are there any novels or stories that revolve around the use of combat drugs in the imperium?

Not really. Every now and again there'll be a character who uses them in a book. Probably the closest we'd get to that is the Beheading, where a bunch of Space Marines fought a hundred Eversors while trying to take out a psychotic High Lord of Terra. There was a Ciaphas Cain novel that featured a former commissar who'd been removed from his position for going crazy and was now a battle-slave for an Inquisitor who got hopped up on drugs when it was time for him fight, but that's about it.

Wow, the eversors have to be one of the worst possible jobs in the entire Imperium.
Shit, those guys do some suffering.

Imagine being hooked on bathsalts, steroids, heroin, and crack, all of the highs blowing in at once. You gaze upon the thing that your mind screams "KIILLLL KILLL FUCKING KILLL" laced with the sweet release as you think of how to murder, how to slaughter it. You're babbling and screaming about the Emperor and his praise silently behind a skull mask, chewing off a bit more of your lips in the process as you leap at inhuman speed like a leopard on meth.

That is how the Eversor do.

The nazis in 1944 started researching a mix of cocaine, oxycodone and methamphetamine aimed to give soldiers superhuman endurance and strength. Unfortunately the war ended and it was only tested on some camp prisoners with quite impressive results, as well as used on few pilots of one-man submarines. As you may suspect, being submerged deep underwater, by yourself, in a tight space unable to move, in total silence and almost complete darkness all while being high as fuck on a godly speedball mix of pure medical grade cocaine, meth and oxy, often resulted in side effects that these submarine pilots reported to be severe entheogene-like visions and total ego death.

I've never understood this autism concidering Sisters of Battle exist and are pretty well supported if you want females in power armor and several other factions exist where you can do female armies if you want to be that guy. Just another case of troons and male feminists wanting every thing to cater to their fetish.

At times like this I think it's always healthy to remind myself of how during some Blizzcon one woman was demanding that all "muh sexism" was toned down in World of Warcraft, while the next woman in line was demanding that female Moonkin get visible breasts.

And both of them I hate because Warcraft 3 was great and WoW is fucking lore-raping garbage with tumblr-tier writing with an actual 'nothing personnel kid'-moment from an overpowered Sue with daddy issues in the Undead quest line. Women ruin everything. They're coming for your Warhammer next.

Oh, you're new to this? No worries, I'll catch you up to speed:

These people do not actually consume the product they want changed to fit their needs. The end.

The thing it comes down to to me is just, “Why should someone cater to the tastes of people who don’t like the stuff in the first place, and aren’t the target audience?”
Let’s be real, the target audience for 40k is male nerds. That is where pretty much all the money comes from. That’s also why things like romantic comedies don’t market to men, that’s not the audience for them. I don’t go to shojo BL manga and ask for more guns and tits, it’s just not for me.
And I’d argue that 40k has many strong women in the lore and canon. The Sisters of Battle are the obvious example, but a fair amount of important Inquisitors and saints and the like were women. But what they want are women Space Marines.
You can just, make your own homebrew space marines. Paint your own kill squad of ladies in armor, no ones stopping you. People have been home brewing chapters forever, that’s part of the fun of painting your own things.
