I’ve got an idea of a devout Necron dynasty seeing what happened to the Flayer and on the outside being cool and at peace with it. On the inside, starting at the upper echelons of the dynasty a cult forms viewing Flayed Ones as “chosen” and generally being the Necron equivalent of an Eyes Wide Shut party.
 
Someone suggested the Vallejo Mecha (Gunpla) line of paints, specifically their varnishes and primers. So trying that, especially since I just discovered my Stynylrez Black Primer has separated, which I believe makes it basically worthless. Sadly, can't find the Vallejo Mecha Matte Varnish anywhere.

Meanwhile my Chinese recaster order finally shipped, so should be able to take a peek at that in a few weeks.

I just use cork and paperclips personally. Finally found a way to paint that will keep my hands stable so now I just have to build the shit and start painting again. At least when I get some time to do so.
 
While I await my Necrons I’ve been brainstorming unique redesigns of certain units, specifically the overpriced Flayed Ones.

As cringe as Terminator: Dark Fate was, the robots wearing a techno-organic sheathe is an interesting idea. Especially the way the future ones used it, some deployed their sheathe as a separate unit while others manifested some nightmarish tentacles

These Rev-7s (terrible name) also exclusively fight with arm blades. Plus cost wise the inner robot is just gonna be a warrior, so another ten pack, green stuff sculpting for the sheathe, chaos tentacles and a singular blade replacing the hands.

Guard, Custodes, and Knights are what's left for Imperium IIRC. I'd guess Custodes cause Guard and Knights need a codex so much more than the Golden Boys.

For Xenos, it's Eldar, Harlequins, Tyranids and Tau if my memory is serving me. Again Harlequins are the ones that need it the least, but I'm going to guess they are going to give it to the 'Nids.

No, it has to be Guard that is the next codex because of the ongoing narrative. Charadon had Ad Mech, Sisters, Dark Eldar, and Death Guard. Octarius has referenced Orks, Tyranids, Guard. Not to mention that Kill Team is Orks vs Guard.

My guess is that the next release of 40k is Eldar vs Chaos, continuing the Vigilus narrative as a lot of craftworlds were gearing up to fight Chaos around that region.

What would be fun is a box set of Custodes vs Genestealer cults. I can see the box art already. A new Custodes hero and his squad in the center with a golden glow around them as a swarm of purple figures surround them in the darkness of an underhive.

Black templars, Tsons, GK and dark angels kinda mogs your theory here. If were were following your theory CSM and Daemons should have come out months ago because of Be'lakor.

As a wordbearer player the notion of more cultist support or cultist variants is exciting. I hope its not the exact same blackstone kits because the repeated special weapon sculpts is a little off putting. I also pray that there's better ways to enable fearless blobs that isn't Abaddon or Skarbrand.

The "Cultists character plus bodyguard" unit is probably just the traitor commisar and mutant ogryn

If its a dud codex at least I spread into goff mixed vehicle orks so I have options.

Like GW I had forgotten about Genestealer Cults, but I'm gonna take that as three-quarters right in my Custodes/Nid prediction if true.

Cadians being in every Guard faction as veterans spread across the galaxy seems very GW to me, but saying Squats are in the pipeline has me doubting. I feel like Squats will forever be hinted at coming back, but won't for a long time.

Also, no Primarch/Demon Primarchs in the works? I could of sworn GW said they were going to announce one of those last year, but maybe they ended up just wording it poorly and meant more Supreme Commanders.

WE dex will have Angron no doubt

I feel like squats have a fair shot from the tech priest mini they made. They are basically the same era of 40k that has GSC and they got ressurected even if they dont get that much support. I'd prefer if they were just a variant human race and present in the IG dex like ratlings or ogryn. Maybe make them explosive/subterranean experts or something I don't know.
