I've had a similar experience. Hell, my sibling mains Reindog and he goes for a similar play style.

Sorry that you get cheaped out, but you need to git gud.
It's a chore to play against, especially on certain stages that favor this kind of gameplay.

For those who played against Peacock from Skull Girls, that's what it feels like.
Even when I do good with Taz he feels like shit to play, his tasty debuff goes away so fast and the range on everything but his dogfight and vomit move is awful. You can even get knocked out of your cooldown AOE special by anyone spamming neutrals.
I truly hope they do more than just change his tornado when they buff him.
Taz has always been shit.

Put a ton of hours into this game and overall glad its blowing up.

Enjoy its use of cancelable moves alongside the really aggressive uses of dodges. Characters feel lively and true to their sources while giving us various playstyles. The setting preferences are also good considering all the shit you have to keep track of

For a F2P they really did a good job as a full package, but as stated the money aspect is going to get worse from here. 2000 glem for a Nostalgia batman skin is insane. Most games let you at least buy the battle pass and get some more premium currency, but they nipped that shit quick so you can't grind them out like in something like fortnite.

Think overall the game will last awhile if WB don't shit the bed even more with pricing, but people are more than willing to pay for shitpost smash by the amount of gold names I've seen.

Either way I just like doing Bugs projectile gimmicks and hammer spikes.

I wonder if they’ll add a way to slowly earn glem by playing. Not a whole lot, mind you, but something like 100 every couple of days. Enough that you can save up for a skin in like a month or so, but also not quite enough that people will still spend money if they’re not patient.

Maybe holiday/seasonal gifts, but don't get your hopes up.

Maybe a battle pass thing or something, yeah.

Not that I completely mind or anything. There’s some cool costumes, but none I have to absolutely have no matter what. I did get a couple with the battle pass though

If they want people to play this every day then it better have a way of earning premium currency. Fortnite battlepass pays itself if you play a lot which might not sound profitable but that's what keeps the game alive. This game is fun but i'm already at level 13/15 of the battlepass, my 7 avaiable characters are all level 9~ and my account is level 17 so i'm straight up not getting gold anymore and once i finish the BP i have no reason to do dailies.

This game could just give you some premium currency for doing dailies, like say 5 glims per quest or 30 per day. If you dont want the F2P being capable of buying everything then just make up a new currency that only money can buy or something.

I mean lets be honest, Mortal Kombat 11 had lootboxes AND 7 different currencies which is more than the mobile gachas i play. This game will definitely have more than just gold and glim, and i expect the next currency to be some sort of "E-sports points" you get from watching tournaments on twitch. As long as i can stay F2p and unlock some skins every now and then it should be fine.

There is money to be made so ...No :blart:

Games are a service now, dont you know, silly boi?

The current battle pass was made to be completed by the time the beta period ends, so I’d imagine that once the game “officially” releases in like a week, the new battle pass will be much bigger and more involved. I’ve seen stuff saying it could go up to level 50.

I settled on buying $20 worth of gleamium to support the game rather than a founder pack of any stripe... is it weird that I choose this because I specifically didn't want character tickets and just want to buy characters with grinded gold...?

Looks like they’re delaying the release of game until a bit later, and are extending the pre-season battle pass another week.

If I had to guess, I’m going to assume they’re taking extra time to iron out any bugs that came up in the beta, and maybe adding a few more servers just in case.

EDIT: There’s talk that the game might have ended up being canceled along with a bunch of movies and shows after the recent merger

EDIT EDIT: Thankfully not.

So are they going to swap the free characters soon? I am pretty sure it has been over a week, so I am surprised they are still there?

I really just want to purchase Finn. It sucks that there is no method to do so while they are free.

I think if you go to the collection page you can purchase them from there.

I did it like a day or two ago, you can’t. It has actually been a noted issue with the game as there is no way to purchase weekly free characters. When they are unlocked, they are considered unlocked for the duration they are available. A really annoying oversight that lead to the backlash when the seasonal characters left last session, as many had no means of knowing it was a weekly thing.

I’m guessing they would have switched on the 9th with the start of season 1, but it might be delayed along with the season for whatever they need to work on.

Or they still might change up then.

Yea, remember how I said Multiversus netcode is solid and all? Maybe the low load made this shit not so visible cause I'm starting to see some serious issues that are caused by poor synchronization and high ping.
- You are able to dodge mid knockback, effectively cancelling your knockback and making it really easy to recover
- You are able to cancel out of some moves (most notably, Bugs' side special) and get duplicate effects
- You are able to lag-cancel some moves and get impossible combos (for example Shaggy can combo it dAir, nAir and uAir in under one second) because the opponent rubberbands back into your hitbox.

The community is shit; don't visit the steam forums. It's worse than the smash community; people get really salty if they lose and ask for everyone who beat them once to get nerfed.

Didn't this game just recently come out? How the fuck is it possible for a community to get fucked so quickly?

The "character x needs a nerf" complaints I can believe because that's ANY competitive game. You have those kinds of complaints even for low-tier characters (you know, the ones that are considered bad).
