I’ve actually been really enjoying both Gizmo and the new hitbox updates. Gizmo is definitely tricky, but he’s got some really good moves, particularly his air stuff and jumping out of the car and immediately using the umbrella does for some great damage and knockback. Im also landing a lot more attacks with the hitbox update rather than get overtaken by Bugs or something, so it’s been an improvement overall for me.

Also finally found someone I can communicate with in teams, so I’ll be able to plan better.

Since we’ve been through a shutdown, I’m posting again.

Rick just came out today. He’s easier to figure out than Morty but still fairly tricky.

New patch notes are out as well.

Also, from the sounds of it, the next character may be more straightforward to play as and require less of a learning curve.

Also, I really love playing as Gizmo, he’s become one of my mains and is currently my third strongest in terms of levels.

Stripe is coming next week.

What's the state of the game?

Dropped it a while ago. Heard it's dying.
Not really dying, matches are still instant. The netcode is shit, matches range from okay to unplayable. WB is 100% rushing these devs to fart out characters and patch it later, hence why it launched with the default unmoving hurtboxes.

I haven’t had any problems with the netcode personally.

Well maybe my 1Gbps up and down hardwired connection with the most expensive ISP in the area is just too good for Multiversus' "server-based rollback" to handle then
I’m not denying you’ve had issues, dude. Just that I personally haven’t.

In other news, if this is a hint at an upcoming character, I am all for it.

I finished the battle pass a few days back. The first 80% I didn't miss a day of dailies, the rest is when I finally started to tire of the game and it took me awhile not doing it daily. I don't think I'll get back into for the next battle pass, but I'll still probably check out new characters. Popeye would be one I'd love.

I didn’t always do all my dailies and ended up finishing it near the end of last month. Battle pass is fairly generous in terms of “have to hit this by this time or you’re fucked”. So long as I like the stuff available, I’ll keep participating with each new one.

Stripe is going to be Assassin class, so he’s probably going to be fairly speedy.

And yeah, Popeye would be a great character to get. I’d imagine you can make him fairly simple to play too.

I imagine Popeye could do something like his neutral B has him eat Spinich which gives all his attacks double knock back or something, and then the buff has like a 20 sec cooldown or something like that.

New patch notes are out for tomorrow’s update.

Stripe is being added with combat costume variant, Lady Rainicorn is a new announcer voice, there’s info on the Halloween event, Halloween costumes for Reindog, Cake, Tom & Jerry, Iron Giant, Velma, Superman and Wonder Woman.

They added an anti-infinite system, tweaked dodging to be a bit most costly, buffed Arya(and bug fixes), nerfed Batman bug budged his side special, buffed Garnet, hella nerfed Gizmo while also lowering the Silence requirements, big fixed Iron Giant, nerfed Jake, Lebron, Rick, Morty, Superman, buffed Tom & Jerry, and nerfed Velma.

Halloween event is a month long and let’s you earn a profile icon, an emote, and the Reindog and Cake skins.

New map on customs that they’re testing for online. I’m guessing it’s the Gremlins one.

Stripe is pretty fun, grinding him with the costume to get those two skins. He's pretty straight forward and his gun can be such a dickish knock out tool. It's always satisfying when you knock someone right to the edge of the blast zone, then just tickle them that little bit past it from across the map. Besides his spike (air down normal) though, he has barely shit to actually kill confirm with sub 150%. His down special is completely useless imo. Kamikaze with it even at high damage is negligible knock back, and using it to spike yourself into the opponent really doesn't do shit either. His side air special really feels like it should have higher knock back, it's pretty tricky to land and even at high percent it's not likely to kill.

Rick is whatever to me, nothing really special, but he flows better than Morty.

Really annoyed they doubled the xp requirements. Characters are objectively screwed over not having access to their main perks, needlessly making you have to play a nerfed version of your character for an unreasonable amount of time. Either make them the first things you unlock, or just piss off with the doubled xp and put it back to where it was. Alternatively, give us a reason to even want to grind the levels besides being stuck with a gimped character.

I kinda get the grind increase, but maybe it should have been a .5 increase rather than double, because it is definitely feels slow.

Halloween even is fun. Seems like a lot to grind, but I’m halfway to the Reindog skin after only play 2-3 hours, so I’m not worried about missing out. It’s cool the Black Lanturn variants got different voice lines and all too.

I agree, I wouldn't have much of an issue with the exp increase if it was only 50%. After playing again for several hours recently, 50% really would of been a happy medium, it would still take an actual effort to mastery a character, but not so much that the idea of using a new character feels like a needless disadvantage.

My main focus when I play is leveling characters, but right now I'm stuck with Stripe until I get that Cake skin (Lvl16 Jake) or pick up the Reindog skin to level him and Stripe while I get the other 13k (13 and 11 respectively). I have the Gizmo skin, but Gizmo has the same problem Rick and Morty do, he doesn't feel complete, and I hate playing him. I'm loving Stripe the more I play him though, he flows so damn well and fits my rush down style of play perfectly. Those sawblades are fucking excellent for setting up a combo into gun, 0 to 30 in the first 3 seconds of a match. They're really good for chip damage and edge guarding as well thanks to their quick recharge. Even with the perk, his down special is still pure useless garbage though.

I know the "candy for gold" part of the Halloween event is an afterthought for once you got everything, but the exchange rate is an absolute joke. I know this game has issues with players sticking around after they do the events and I feel having a realistic exchange rate with that particular aspect would of helped. 500 candy for 10 gold. That's 5 full sets (2 wins, 1 loss) with an event costume, for 10 gold. You almost that same amount for a single win. That's 15 matches, for 10 extra gold.

Just saying, if it was 500 for 100/200, I'd be content to grind out gold for those expensive ass Halloween avatars after I get the skins. For 10 though? I'm just checking out at 15k until the next battle pass.

I’ve actually gotten super good with Gizmo, enjoy him a lot. Hopping out of the car only to immediately use the umbrella or an up physical attack is one hell of a good combo, because they’ll still get hit by the car, and his normal Up B locks them in place for a half second. Damage really piles up too. He doesn’t have the best KO potential, but the umbrella and his Up Soecial both deal good knockback, so there’s potential there. Down Special is also really good to combo into his Up Special.

I just unlocked the Reindog outfit tonight, and I really do like the Halloween outfits for everyone, they’re pretty good quality. Turns out you get extra candy if you’re playing on Teams and your partner uses a Halloween costume, just fyi.
