“I only binged a little...I didn’t lose seven pounds this week...I gained one pound...I can look at this as a complete failure or look at it instead as I didn’t gain ten pounds in a week.”
Paraphrasing because there’s no way in fuck I’m watching that again. But just for perspective:
“I only shot up a little heroin this...I didn’t stop using it completely this week...I shot up only once a day...I can look at this as a complete failure or look at it instead as I didn’t go through 10 bags a day like usual, but instead only 5 a day.”
You’re an addict Amber. But instead of using a spoon to cook black tar heroine in the closet, you’re using a spoon to put more food that you don’t need into your body. You’re fat because you keep binging but you keep doing it and lying to yourself about how only a “little binging” is better than a lot. Just like a “little alcohol,” or a “little meth,” or a “little smoke”. You either admit you’re an addict, accept this shameful reality and how it’s affecting your life and the lives of those around you and kick the habit entirely, or you do what addicts in withdrawal do and make excuses for why you fell off the wagon.
OR ALTERNATIVELY... you could just accept that you don’t want to change your eating habits and that you aren’t ready to work through your addiction yet. That’s fine. But no one will cry for you when that decision kills you.
