I wrote here a little bit ago freaking out over my weight and how Ive gained weight, cant stop eating etc etc. Well yes I have been eating a CRAP ton of food, it seems like the weight ive gained (5-7 pounds) is mostly muscle as Ive been still unintentionally hitting double my macros.

Sooo.... Win I guess? Its crazy to see my physique now compared to a year ago while I was at the same weight Beforehand I looked squishy with no definition except on my lower legs but now you can see my abs despite the layer of fat. So much fat loss, so much muscle gain. Considering Ive been eating like SHIT for the past three months, I am surprised I only gained around 5 to 7 pounds with most of it being muscle. I pray to God I dont lose that muscle when trying to get lean, its unlikely Id hope as long as I still hit my macros.

225 at the beginning of this year. Was down to 203 by August. And was well intending to keep going but reached a stubborn plateau. The scale is telling me in the last four days I've gained 6 pounds and I'm fucking pissed. I did eat "holiday" food but I still limited myself but Jesus christ it came on so fast. I got up at five in the morning to exercise for months to lose that weight.

I'm just trying not to fall into despair here.

Bro I know it's schitzo-cope, but I swear that many holiday foods have poorly labeled nutritional info. They set people up to gain right before New Years to better sell dieting and weight loss products.

I switched to a different glp-1 for diabetes and weight loss this month. The difference is night and day. Fasting is ridiculously easy, most days I'm doing OMAD without any struggle. And best of all the food noise is gone. No cravings, it's easy to say no at the grocery store, I don't fall asleep thinking about what I'm going to eat the next day. It's insane.

I'm down 7 pounds too. Woo!

I am starting back at the gym next week, I cut my finger badly not long ago so I can't go swimming yet. I have plantar fascitis which makes it painful to walk. Hopefully that will be resolved soon and I can start lifting again too.

I checked in Christmas Eve having dropped only 1.9lbs the past week and the next day on Christmas I got a $100 Domino's Gift Card from my Cousin. There's a Domino's not even a 15 minute walk away from where I live. THis feels like terrorism and it's only been a day but I keep thinking about how if maybe I do an 8 day fast before and after and really bust my ass I can excuse placing even a single order.

It's been years since I had one of those pasta breadbowls. Oh, god. How do I stop rationalizing placing the order? I'm such a fat fuck. I'm literally screaming right now. I've been screaming for hours. The cops just left maybe 15 minutes ago performing a wellness check. My neighbors thought I was being murdered. I might need to be.

Which one did you switch to/from?

Honestly, chop the card up and dump it. Or give it to a homeless dude or a local church or something.

One of the ways I used to rationalize continuing a binge I was in the middle of was that it was a waste of food if I threw out half a takeaway or whatever.

Key to changing that, and it required incremental mindset shifts, was coming to think throwing out food that's not aligned with my goals is not waste; it's an act of self-care.

You're in your cortex now, acting conciously, or conciously not acting on your desire to be more precise. That's

At some stage though you're going to slip in to your limbic system and honestly not have that self control.

Removing things from your environment is essential if you're serious, as is acknowledging your shortcomings. That dominos card is going to be a distraction. So get rid of it.

Feel free to list the reasons why you shouldn't get rid of it, but at the end of the day, if you don't, you're going to use it, and that does not align with your long term goals.

"Your cousin will be offended" I doubt it, if you actually told him the truth of the struggles you have

"It's a waste" not if you give it to someone in greater need than you

"I could just order something small or healthier every once in a while" you won't though. You know you fucking won't.

Etc

I know it's a bit late to be saying this now but I'm going to share a very good piece of advice from CSU professor and doctor of human bioenergetics Andy Galpin and vtuber marimari_en:

You are going to overeat during the holidays/winter months anyway, so do it with purpose and use it as an opportunity to build muscle. You will feel better, look better, and enjoy the holidays more.

God, all I want to do is write how I could rationalize a Breadbowl.

Then I discovered breadbowls aren't 700 calories.

They're 700 calories a serving.

There are two servings in a breadbowl.

I know of no one in the history of time that has only ate half a breadbowl. I don't even think it's physically possible.

The hack I have for Dominos is freezing the pizza. It freezes and reheats very well. You can't binge on it if you have to defrost slices to eat them. It hasn't stopped me (I just end up defrosting several slices at once on a whim), however, and I'm way worse off than most of you weight wise, so, maybe not listen to me.

The coupon I get nowadays is bread bites (~55 each so ~880 for that order) + diet cola + two pizzas. Eat the bread for a meal, maybe have a slice of pizza, then freeze the rest of it so I'm not tempted. If that's the only meal I'm having that day (and I usually do OMAD) then it works out well enough. But again, I'm as fat as Boogie 2988, so maybe don't listen to the guy who has ruined his life over hamburgers.

Any particular reason as to why you're rationing fastfood instead of anything else? What's your deal? Having problems coming up with alternatives?

I went from Trulicity to Mounjaro.
I'm on Semaglutide, switched to 0.75 recently, but they do offer tirzepatide instead if I want to switch. The 0.75 has been working well enough for me, but if I don't start making more forward progress I think the tirzep might be the way to go.

I live in a rural area without transportation. 3 button presses and receive hamburger was just easier than getting a city cab to the store and back. Not that 1-2 mile walks to the grocery store would have killed me...

But in reality the chain of thought was something like

It's expensive to do doordash -> if I order two subs at subway at once I can do two meals for one delivery fee -> the coupons for Dominos are similar like $18 for food for 3 people -> it's a huge premium to not order 2-3 people's meals at once -> if I freeze this shit then I can partition it rather than overeating.

However, Instacart does groceries and Costco is on there. Getting 10 pounds of Pork chops for $25 or so is just smarter than the burger... but it's a lot easier to do the burger. I should probably stock up with stuff that goes well with simple protien like pork / chicken breast / etc, which would definitely help...

... But it's 3 button presses for a hamburger or pizza.

I wonder how much of our obesity epidemic is a misdiagnosed or intentionally ignored depression epidemic.

Yeah, having a store that far away is a pain in the ass and, tbh, I think going on non-chore-related walks would be a lot better for the mind. I also get the convenience on getting food that's ready to eat as-is. If you don't mind, I'd give 2 pieces of advice:
1) Maybe, if you have the space for it, getting like plastic containers to ration the food more clearly (as in, in a single day you allow yourself to eat only x slices, so each container holds x slices) would make it psychologically harder to eat more than you planned? Just a thought though.
2) Going from fastfood deliveries to pork chops is a big leap, I have no idea what stores look like in the US, but if it's possible, maybe try and find foods that are tasty and ready to eat as-is but are healthier than fastfood? Ideally you could pick out a couple salads (even those with shitload of mayo), maybe some canned shit (there should be various types, with sauces, spices and shit), pate, sausages, ham in slices, nuts, whole meals in jars that you only have to reheat? I don't know what your goals are and how far you're ready to go (and what prices look like over there), but I honestly think that replacing fastfood with food from the store, even if some of it is equally shit, would be a step in a good direction, cause you can go in many directions from there, while staying on a fastfood diet is a dead end.

I'm limited in what I can say because of OpSec/pl/etc reasons, but if you want an idea of the kind of stuff Americans do, food wise, most of our grocery stores have embraced delivery services similar to Uber Eats / Doordash / etc, as mentioned:

All these prices are marked up slightly (5-20%) for being online delivery, and usually its about $10 USD + $5-10 tip for the driver. But, it's convenient.

And yeah you're probably right, moving away from fast food to home food, even if it's processed, would be better. And I have done so (but occasionally fall off the wagon) and keep trying to move to cooking and mealprep. I was mostly just talking in a general, "if I had a $100 pizza gift card, here's how I'd avoid falling off the wagon with it" way.

What does this mean?
Is there some form of diarrhea that affects West Coasters or something I'm not aware of? What's the "Great Green Blanket?"
The Great Green Blanket is a cult of cannibalistic anprim paleovegan ecoterrorists in Oregon and NorCal, originating in Portland. They rationalize that humanity at large has adopted an anthropocentric worldview that voluntarily distinguishes ourselves from animals, thus doing harm to humans does not violate the principles of veganism; however, since they adhere to a paleo diet, they can only eat people who also adhere to a paleo diet, since things like artificial sweeteners and preservatives find their way into the meat. Drinking diet cola or other drinks with aspartame is an effective way to ward them off because they're so emaciated that they can literally smell it on you and leave you alone, and I wouldn't recommend anybody wander the wastes of California without at least a sixer. Just be sure to double check the labels; Stevia is natural and it won't save you.

Assuming this isn't a shitpost (sorry fren, poes law and all), then I've never been happier to have a diet coke addiction spanning decades.
