Weight loss support thread

Goodbye size 4, hello size 2! (Depends on the retailer and how the pants fit, but it's still a milestone!)

Once again: All just by walking 30-40 minutes 2-3 times a week, and watching what I eat.

Similar to what I do when it's nice outside. I also stripped out all packaged/ premade/ fastfood from my diet and found you can lose a ton of weight doing that, just cook all your own food so you know what you're putting into it.

Like yes, I put on 30lbs. of "Winter weight" this year, but I'll lose that in the next coming months and drop another 10lbs. after that, possibly more.

Hi I'm a fattie. At my highest weight I was 260. I lost 20 pounds in the last 3 months.

I did slip a few times eating ice cream, candy, a rack of ribs, and pizza. It's hard to ignore that stuff when my fiance brings it in the bedroom when we hang out. The only negative eating habit I still keep up day-to-day is coffee. I drink 2 16 oz cups of coffee a day which adds up to 200 calories for both servings. I wants to get back those calories to spend on snacks so I don't eat icecream and candy.

What kind of low cal snacks do you guys tend to eat? Don't recommend cottage cheese that shit's gross.

Although I very rarely eat fast food, that's what got me into cooking my own meals. I started by helping my mom out when she made dinner, and I taught myself from her own cookbooks and online recipes. Not to mention that everything tastes better when you make it!

I like to munch on baby carrots (sometimes with low-fat French dressing), edamame, and sliced cucumbers in between meals.

What's a cookbook? I just throw things together that taste good and go together.

Shit picture I know, but this was one of the turkey's I made. An hour into cooking it I drizzled a bit of melted butter on top to help fry the skin as it cooked then put it back in the oven for about 30 more minutes took it out and rubbed paprika and homemade poultry seasoning into it and threw it back in the oven. The side is where I took a slice to taste it

All left over juice gets strained and turned into homemade grave and once the meat is taken off, the bones get boiled to make turkey stock plus whatever onion, garlic and carrot peels I have and some spices wrapped in some cheese cloth.

That's one of the hard parts in that your choices are fairly limited at the low calorie end of the spectrum, personally I tend to go for fruit mostly and sometimes sardines in oil, popcorn [sans the butter] is also a fairly good choice. It's fine to eat a bit of crap, just need to be careful not to go overboard on it. Have you heard of making ice cream using only bananas? It works a lot better than you might think it would, I'd highly recommend trying it if that is one of your goto's.

I should make that, and put my food processor to work.

Gonna make mocha with chocolate covered almonds.

Iv lost 10 pounds in the last 3 months but I'm having trouble and not losing any weight at all. Any suggestions? I have to go to wedding in 2 months.

Depends on your gender and how you're going about it, hitting a plateau is an annoying part of the process and we've probably all been there. If you're calories are already quite low and you cannot afford to try reducing them a little more, then I would recommend adding some resistance [weight based] training into your exercise routine, muscle burns extra calories while you are at rest, and may help to tip you over the line into more weight loss.

I decided this morning that I should actually sit and keep track of my meals and exercise, and Jesus Christmas it never really occurred to me how much sodium is in my Quick Garbage Meals.
I have almost 900 calories of wiggle room for dinner but only 40 grams of sodium. Gonna fuckin' die from hypertension y'all.

It's taken a bit of time, but I think I've lost close to around 15 pounds over the past few months. I wasn't really that fat to begin with, just really fucking pale and needed muscle mass. I've noticed that when my melanin count increased from merino

after spending more time working outside in the yard and woods, a lot of my anxiety, paranoia, and discomfort in the stomach and bowel area faded away.

Alongside watching My 800lbs Life, my mom has also taken inspiration from me to shed 100lbs and get back down to 200, and has been doing yard work again. She's quit soft drinks and gone full water, and hasn't had reflux or aching joints in the recent days.

If I can get down to a toned 150, I'll be a tad bit happier. I'm currently sitting at 196 and it's not dropping much.

x y z powerlevel tier things happened and I've spent the past two weeks completely broke.

However, this bad situation is turning out to have a silver lining:
you can't binge on unhealthy foods if you don't have the money to buy them.

Wanted to lose about 35lbs this year, and according to the scales, I'm already 5lbs down. Though I believe that some of that will come back as soon as I start eating again, the head start this has given me to control how much I generally consume has been encouraging me not to fall off the wagon in the future.

I've actually lost interest in unhealthy, processed foods - I'm craving anything wholesome that will take me out of this bland, boring diet I've accidentally signed up for (which consists of mostly porridge and coffee).

I would kill for a bit of chicken or fish to spice things up tbh
I've gotten pretty good food from the food pantry, mine gets donations from Trader Joes.

The other day I saw myself in the mirror (full body too!) and actually liked the way my body looked and was happy with it. I don't remember the last time I felt that way.

I'm up to 4-6 days a week at the gym (or walking outside now that it's spring) for usually an hour at least. I'm probably in the best shape of my life. Today I realized none of the aches and pains I had when I first started (stiffness, knee pain, back pain, etc.) are there anymore. This is so cool

I have lost at least 20 pounds within 2 years from joining the gym and I managed to keep it off. It's been pretty slow because of my love/hate relationship with food, but at least I lost a dress/pants size. =D

Is it okay to do both cardio and lifting on the same day, or should I alternate them on separate days (run one day, lift the next)?

EDIT: What are some good protein sources that aren't animal based (not vegan, but I want to expand my palette)?

Beans, quinoa, lentils, peas, seeds, nutritional yeast, and surprisingly oatmeal.

You can use lentil in tacos, nutritional yeast in your pasta sauces, and hemp seeds in smoothies just to name a few things you can do with these things. I like to make a quinoa tabbouleh and kale salad sometimes, it's very good.

Samosa's can use quinoa. I've had a few good ones with that.
