Weird Dreams Thread

Oh yeah sounds like the dream architecture I usually experience, though I usually experience towns or cities that change all the time. However, I always seem to lose my car in these dreams and spend the second half of my dream unsuccessfully re-tracing my steps.
In one of my favorite of these, I couldn't find my car so I stole a helicopter instead.

I dreamt I was at a party and I stole a fellow party-goers car, I was really drunk and as I was driving down a dirt road there were two people sitting in the middle of it, I tried to swerve but ran them both over. When I hit them the impact was like hitting a tree, and as I hit the windscreen I died but it was so sudden my soul stayed in the car and I watched my own body fly through the air and hit the road. I remember thinking oh I’m dead, let’s see what happens now. Will I see the light or will it just go dark, then everything went black and I woke up.

When I was, I dunno, about 6 or 7, I had a bizarre dream that involved me running around a quarry, in my shorts, barefoot. From what I remember, the quarry was in a place it shouldn't be, like in my neighbourhood. I ran up to some of the workers, asked them something that didn't make sense ("Are you German?", or something similar), then made my way to a cliff on the edge of the quarry, leapt off, and that's when I woke up.

Somehow, even approaching 28 in 3+ months, I remember this dream a bit more vividly than my Late Night With the Devil-The Man Who Laughs one. I mean, yeah, there's the odd one about my mum (who's been gone for around 3 years), and some crappy high school wankery, but the Illogical Quarry one is one that sticks out the most. I've also had dreams/nightmares that involve me "falling" back into my bed, and waking up, for years. Apparently, according to science, that's to do with being a worry wart.

Actually, I've just remembered another one: Several years back, I had a dream where my mum and my stepdad were driving me somewhere, perhaps back home, but I'm not sure, 'cos it was through a motorway, at night, but it was really long and vividly neon, like something out of Robocop/Blade Runner/Cyberpunk.

On the weird shit that happened in the dream, from the motorway we were on, you could see some areas of Leeds: office buildings, pubs etc., and just as I was having a nosy at the scenery, a tsunami started to rise over the horizon.

I think the tsunami then came our way, and we must have driven for hours (though time was weird in this dream), 'cos we got out of the motorway, and ended up on some sort of country-ish road, with rolling hills, and a small mountain (some Pike type thingy), and the tsunami, appeared again, behind the mountain. That's when I woke up, I think.

I've discovered that, apparently, seeing waves in dreams is also to do with worrying. Well, background anxieties.

I went to a Jewish religious theater competition to kill some time, people were mulling around watching a show and then doing their Jew dances like it was a party. I walk up to a middle aged woman (maybe a few years older than me) to ask if it’s okay for me to participate in the ritual and she randomly tells me to follow her back to her apartment to fuck. She did not want to talk and seemed single mindedly but also boredly interested in taking my load. The dream collapsed before we got nude, as it does.
What did the MILF(?) Jew broad look like?

I'm at the store, things seems eerily gray. Suddenly, a big explosion happens and the Russian anthem plays in full blast.

So I "sampled" Dragon's Dogma Arisen to see if I could run it. Even on the lowest settings that make it look like a PS2 game it was a bit too laggy. I thought so. Memories of Celceta seems to be my ceiling. I'll just get it on Switch sometime.

Anyway, I had an awful nightmare about the chimera boss. I was with a group of people at some kind of building. I don't know whether it was a school or a hospital or both. And the damn thing kept chasing us. Only if it couldn't see you then it didn't know you were there. So we hid in a room. But the goat part of the chimera rammed its horns into the wall and made holes. It spotted us and busted down the door. It seemed like the goat was in charge. In game that goat freaked me out. The animations are like something out of one of those satanic themed horror movies.

So the chimera killed a bunch of people. Me and this guy eventually found a group of people at a hospital who were hiding from the chimera. There were all these women dressed in blue nurse dresses and caps who were part of some kind of rumored cult and me and the guy (who I guess was my dream boyfriend?) were asked to join the supernatural investigation team that was trying to find the connection between the nurses and the chimera. At this point the dream became lucid. So we watched the nurses go single file into this room. And then I opened a door that led down this long rocky tunnel similar to one I've seen in many other dreams. And then my cat decided this was the exact moment she wanted to me to share my pillow and I woke up.

Now I'll never know the secret behind the cult of nurses worshipping a chimera. :(

My latest weird dream involved me running in a marathon even though I've never participated in one and have no plans to ever do so.

I apparently had been participating in an annual marathon for the past 2 or 3 years and it was now an annual tradition for me. However, this wasn't any well-known marathon such as the Boston or New York Marathon. I don't even remember it being identified with any sort of name for that matter.

Besides having no recognizable name, this particular marathon allowed runners to start their run at any point within a specific block of time. As long as runners started their run before the cutoff time, they were promised the chance to finish the race. This will come into play later.

As the marathon is in progress, I'm relaxing and waiting for my preferred starting time. Sitting with me is a nondescript black woman, although I don't recognize her, she seems familiar as if we've run past marathons together. Anyways, we make eye contact, nod our heads, and stand up to start running the marathon together.

As I'm running, I notice some of the spectators are fictitious/cartoon characters. I forget which character it was, but I greeted one of them by name as I ran by only to be ignored. I didn't let the apparent snub bother and I remind myself that I've run this marathon multiple times before and I'm looking forward to finishing it again and setting a good example in doing so.

A short time later, though, I'm stopped in the middle of the race. Somebody had a boneheaded moment and shut down the finish line prematurely, meaning that anyone still running the race wouldn't be able to complete it with a finishing time and final placement. Hearing this pissed me off. Although I told myself I had no control over what happened, I still felt disappointed and angry that the race's promise to let anyone starting it have the chance to finish was going to be broken for the first time with me. As I thought about what I'd do next, I woke up.

For some reason, I was helping Viper clean out his house and he gave me a bag of trash and told me to take it outside, which was an enclosed area but open to the sky. I got worried that he was trying to trap me there for some nefarious purpose and started making excuses for not doing it. Then I saw someone come into it through an open door and decided it was okay, and apologized for being paranoid. Then I took it out and I forget where it went from there.

Had a weird dream a few days ago where a friend and I were walking through this field of very tall grass in the middle of autumn during the late afternoon when we came upon an old abandoned school sitting in the middle of this field nowhere near any kind of society. We immediately go inside and start urgently searching for the musician Sonny Sharrock who we believe is trapped inside somewhere. The inside of the school turns into an old nasty looking research lab straight out of Silent Hill as we keep going. Woke up shortly after.

Dream German state of Hesse* went bankrupt so the government was merging or annexing it into other states.

Your mention of the ASCII nightmare remembered me of this reddit post I've seen what feels like aeons ago:

I've never had one of these and for some reason I wish I did.
I've recently had this nightmare sorta, but the round object was just Earth and I was flying away from it at such high speeds that it would appear all flat. Stuff like that freaks me the hell out.

I just had a dream crossing over Spongebob, Gravity Falls, Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, South Park, and The Good fucking Dinosaur of all things. In the dream, Spongebob tried invoking the Axolotl similar to Bill so he could go back in time and not die, this sent him back to the time of the Spongebob Movie where he accidentally changed time allowing for Plankton to win. He then joined a resistance made up of the Final Fantasy characters that were in Kingdom Hearts only for them to be defeated and bucket helmeted by Plankton who showed up to gloat. Then the dream did a complete 180 and I got out of a sewer with the protagonist of the Good Dinosaur only to see my high school in front of me where some shit from South Park happened with Kyle loosing a race and Kenny dying without his orange hood though. I can't remember much else, but this isn't even the craziest dream I have ever had.

Oh boy. I had a mind-altering howitzer last night.

As far as I can recall, I was in the back kitchen of some restaurant, trying to pack a suitcase whilst surrounded by raw meat, shiny tiled surfaces everywhere. As I was about to give up, an estranged relative I haven’t seen since 2018 turned up in a fancy suit, all laughs and high spirits, and helped me pack.

Exited the scene and next we were in a car, driving somewhere around infinite green fields, laughs and joviality continuing.

Then it reaches night time, and I say goodbye to relative. I look out my house window (not any house I have ever seen irl), and see said relative enter the neighbour’s house across the road (who does exist irl). Shortly after he enters, two lesbians I knew from college enter the house also.

Time passes, and I can see the door open again, and the neighbour dumps the dead bodies of the two lesbians outside his front door. No sign of the relative - dead or alive. Then it ends, mild terrors before I am fully conscious.

Decipher that one for me please, friendos.

Okay, last night's dream was weird, but with less crossover shit. I also remember less of it so bear with me here. Me and my family were driving around somewhere in some part of it only to end up at a country gas station where my Mom let me buy some Lego sets from Monkey D. Luffy of all people who was the cashier at the register there. I don't remember much else of it other than it was dark outside.

This unironically reminds me of the fucking dream I had when I was 3 years old or some shit that never left my mind. basically the entire dream was just me in front of some squad of soldiers telling them not to shoot me and then yeah I think you can tell what happened before I woke up. No they didn't shoot me in a way that killed me, just the kind of way that'd leave me fucking hurting. Also there was no blood, just pus for some reason. Might've brought up this dream in here a few years ago actually.

ANOTHER REMINDER. Reminds me of the dream I had either a year or 2-3 years ago, whenever my friend was taking me through Higurashi. A random fucking character showed up in an otherwise hyper realistic boring dream at like either a convenience store or one of those gas station shops. I never got a chance to write down the exact convo but I ended up forgetting pretty much all the exact words.

Anyways, thing is it was a character that hadn't even appeared yet in the story and somehow they acted the same as they did when we actually got to the part they show up in. Who knows maybe I saw some shit involving the character well over a decade into thep ast and somehow forgot, it WAS a thing that was coming out through basically a good chunk of my life. I used to have dreams with a shit ton of movie and tv show/vidya characters showing up in my dreams as a kid but that was the first time in fucking forever that ever happened to me. It's stuck with me since then. Can't remember if I wrote that one in here or not either, huh.

I don't know what's wrong with my brain. I've been out of college for a decade and I still have the same "about to graduate but I haven't attended a class all semester and the exam is tomorrow" and "for some reason I have to go back to High School for a class" dreams all the time.
That, and dreams about an ex I had in college. Just those three, over and over.

I’m driving in the predawn when the junction I need to take is blocked off. I check the maps on my phone, and sure enough, I can get back to the highway after a short detour. I take the off-ramp and, before a dense copse of trees, is a yellow advisory sign. Rather than a recommended speed for the turn, it just says “Bob.”

Not very descriptive, but I know the rules: don’t invite Bob out, don’t let Bob have anything, be friendly.

The road through the copse trees splits, each direction a single lane out of view of the other. The area is enclosed by mesh wire fence supported by two-by-fours, like a chicken coop. Spaced intermittently are industrial incandescent lighting, the orange radial glow of each on the road just kissing the circle of light, of safety, of the next. The road winds and turns, you have to slow roll through the entire thing. As it runs through the trees, the fencing pushes closer to the road until it’s right against the asphalt. One of the upcoming lights are out. My tension starts to mount; but maybe Bob won’t show up, he sometimes doesn’t.

As I enter the gloom of the dead light, Bob is suddenly there, pressed against the mesh wire fence, his hooked claws hanging from the octagonal openings of the fence. I wait until I reach the next circle of light to roll down my window. He’s waiting for me there when I do. His dull purple skin looks grey in the industrial light. His wide oval head, face way too small, is pressed against the mesh, nose poking through an opening. I think his pants used to be burlap, but they’re little more than tatters now. He greets me.

“How’s it going?” he asks in a friendly, dopey voice.

I respond, “I’m doing well, Bob. How are you?” I use a tone you use with a special needs adult, one you work with. Friendly, simple, but not patronizing.

“Where are you going?”

“I’m going to work, Bob.”

“Can I come?”

“Sorry Bob, only employees can be there.”

He’s following alongside the car as we converse, watching me unblinkingly through the fence. He’s silent now, just watching, and I focus on navigating the road.

“Can I see your cell phone?” Bob suddenly asks.

“Sorry, Bob, you know the rules. No can do .”

“We’ll why not?” He’s starting to pout.

“I dunno, man, I don’t make the rules. I’m just a cog in the machine like anyone else.”

Bob goes silent against. He’s staring, but this time not at me: but where my phone is, through the door. I grab and hang on to it.

“Hey, where’s your phone at?” Bob asks.

“It’s in my hand, Bob,” I reply. I know that if I don’t keep constant stock of it, he’ll find away to get ahold of my phone.

The rest of the drive, he pesters me about my phone. Each time I respond with “It’s in my hand, Bob.”

Day broke during our conversation, and I can see sunlight up-ahead, where the trees come to a sudden end. Bob bids me farewell. “You have a good day, Bob,” I reply in turn. Then I woke up.

Bob was literally just 3-D Squelton from Smiling Friends with long limbs and claws. I don’t know why, but it did wakes up in time to get a morning run in.

I left out a lot of the more dreamy elements, like how the car became a cart on rails. It was a tense dream, but not quite a nightmare. It was one of those that was instantly silly once I woke up.
