Weird Dreams Thread

Here are some weird shit that pop up in my dreams from time to time:

- I think it's quite a common theme but I get anxiety dreams where I'm trying to get somewhere but I can't. Like I'll have to go to work at 9am and in my dream I will wake up at 6am, but when walking my dog, I'll run into a friend, get locked out of my house yet when I get back on track, all my work clothes will be dirty and I'll somehow not be able to ring up my work all let them know I'm late.

- If I have a dream where I'm with people I'm no longer friends with, we will almost certainly be hanging about in my primary school.

- I often get dreams where someone I don't like confronts me and is quite aggressive. One of my friends girlfriend, who I heavily dislike, came into my class in one dream and yelled about how I was bullying her. Hell, last night I dreamt one of my horrible old coworkers cussed out at me for drinking the last can of Diet Coke in my fridge at home. I woke up with heart palpitations because the bitch went through me.

- I sometimes dream that a dead person is alive but they're basically just there to die again. So if they've died from cancer they're in my dream on their deathbed with cancer but at *this* point in my life as opposed to whenever they really died. Or I'll think they're dead and they're alive and my dream is about processing that I thought they were dead for the past couple of years yet they're ...here.

If you ever have a dream like that and can summon the wherewithal to confront the demon head on, you'll win a prize - less anxiety and slightly more confidence in your waking life.

I hardly remember any of my dreams but I can recall a few bits. I know that in my dreams I can always jump ridiculously high and can kind of psuedo fly.

I just saw some weird shit. I don't remember what the fuck the actual dream was about, and I don't give a shit, but anyway:
In the dream, I go to sleep, but suddenly wake up with a startle. After 3 seconds of nothing, SOMETHING suddenly SCREAMS into my left ear. It keeps screaming, slowly growing fainter. I panic, with cold sweat all over my body, before recognizing it as "exploding head syndrome". Then I wake up IRL.

I once had a dream involving someone that I wasn't on speaking terms with at the time. In-dream, we got into a small tussle before I finally asked the person what prompted our falling out. Before I could get an answer, I woke up as if my mind was saying, "You don't know why, so you can't get an answer to that question."

I've never thought of them as anxiety dreams but I've had similar dreams:
- Driving down a main road only to have it abruptly narrow to one lane and quickly dead-end where it logically shouldn't.
- Being in an elevator that skips floors randomly and/or never seems to stop on the floor I want.
- Doorways and stairwells that lead to dead ends or what would be fatal falls.
- Opening what should be an exit door only to find another corridor with several more doors. This goes on indefinitely until I wake up, with each door opened leading to an even longer corridor. Sometimes, for good measure, I'm being chased by a large crowd and each door opened results in more people joining the chase. Oddly, they never seem to get close enough to harm or otherwise threaten me in any way.

My most recent weird dream saw me in some sort of testing laboratory where someone had used robotic style lego bricks (the kind used by robotics clubs to make programmable vehicles or other objects with moving parts) to build a small robotic bird capable of brief bursts of flight using miniaturized drone technology. I never saw the other person in-dream, however, they were someplace in the lab using some type of remote control or computer commands to test the bird's flight capabilities. The robotic bird successfully rose off of the table and moved forward until it was hovering in mid-air away from the table. At that point, the bird suddenly transformed itself into a robotic elephant and instantly plummeted to the floor because the elephant weighed significantly more than the bird did and the difference was too much for the flight mechanism to handle. All I could do was watch curiously and ask myself, WTF just happened here?

Can you write about them?

I haven't had them in years but they ranged from nuclear armageddon to zombie and mutant apocalypses, alien invasions, and those were all fun. In the nuclear ones I'd be driving around in a dune buggy thing taking the heads off mutants trying to get to an airport or some other simplistic bullshit.

A depressing one that recurred was just all life on the planet was dying for no obvious reason and I was in some last enclave of people by a lake. The situation was hopeless but we had an endless supply of food and booze so just endlessly partied. I'd sometimes go out and look out on the lake and it would be completely still, with no wind, and just a very faint scent of decay. There was no Moon either and no stars. It would bother me to think that this giant lake had absolutely nothing living in it. Eventually I'd say fuck it and walk back to the party because there was nothing to be done.

I dreamt that I was playing the part of Elphaba in a high end production of Wicked. I don’t possess the skills or desire to act/sing, but it was fun in my imagination.

Had a dream last night about me visiting a Michelin star restaurant. I was a fox with a orange brown fur and wearing a small tuxedo and a propeller hat.

Last night I had a dream that I was back in school, anyways, it was like college but in the desk pattern I believe was from my freshman year math class, like almost exactly and I think I was in the same spot up front where I used to sit. I guess I had to give a presentation, for some reason, and I opened my laptop, plugged it in to the projector, and boom KF on the screen. I freaked out, closed the laptop but it remained on the screen so I opened it up again and held the power button. Everyone saw it and I was worried I outed myself until the next fever dream set in 10 seconds later. Something about a castle.

I think I'm ashamed of all of you :P jk

Does anyone have apocalyptic/post-apocalyptic dreams?

I might have written about this already. 2-3 years ago I had a possibly-apocalyptic dream that was pretty freaky.
In the dream I headed out in the morning, it was a beautiful day with a blue sky that seemed... different. Looking up at it it seemed to glisten and undulate slowly and after looking at it for a while I thought it looked like water moved by a light breeze. My neighbor was hosing off her car so I turned to her, she looked at me with a bit of worry in her face, then looked away and continued washing the car.
Walking off I met another neighbor walking his dog, acting all normally but I saw that his eyes darted up to the sky for a second. We said hello and I went to work. On the way there I listened to the radio who, of course, talked about this phenomena. Meteorologists said that it was perfectly natural, though they don't know exactly what it is, all in a pissy tone and the message from the authorities was that the only ones that worried or freaked out were morons embarrassing themselves.

At work everything went on as normal, at lunch in the break room it was mostly silent and everyone tried to disguise when they looked out the windows to check on the sky. Everyone noticed everyone else doing it, no one would be the first one to talk about it. No one wanted to be the embarrassing one that freaks out. The rest of the day went on like that, everyone tried to act normal while being eaten up inside.

One or two days later I had another dream, this time the sky was completely black like it was covered in thick clouds, where the clouds broke a sickly yellow could be seen behind it and that yellow was the only natural light during the day. Again, no one was freaking out, it's natural, don't be morons.

Both of those dreams were unnerving.

Two-three days later, in real life, the sun rose in England and the sky was red, but it wasn't as bad as in Stockholm where it didn't rise and it was still dark at 9-10 in the morning.
Pissy meteorologists said on the radio/tv/internet that it was perfectly normal and by that time I knew that only morons embarrassed themselves by worrying.

It was ash and soot from the massive forest fires in Portugal that affected the sky, it had gotten high enough that it traveled on the jet streams I think, but with the dreams preceding it it was still unsettling

Last week I dreamed that I was trying to improve my hand-eye co-ordination by throwing eggs at a hippo.

I was browsing through videos on YouTube and suddenly Pewdiepie uploads a video "My micky mouse wifu" plot twist, it was a video of him balls deem in Marzia and she sounded like Mickey Mouse instead of her normal self

I mentioned this already somewhere on the board but I had sex with Happy Gilmore-era Adam Sandler, lisp and everything. It was pretty horrifying.

Watched Ghost Ship yesterday and had a weird nightmare about it last night.

Some unknown people and I got off the ship or something, I don't remember much of the beginning. But every once in awhile a piece of wood from the ship would be found and bad things would happen like ghost attacks and people dying. I kept trying to get rid of the pieces to make it go away but they would keep popping up horror movie style.
Feels weird being haunted by a ship.

My lack of proper sleep combined with a Hammer Dracula marathon resulted in a dream last night where Dracula chased me through a crafting store. I was unable to escape even after transmutating myself into a pile of handbags and I suffered several injuries and a bite. Later, when changing the surrounding traffic with a remote control, a homeless woman kindly bandaged up one of my injuries with a tapeworm-like-thing that she pulled out of an infected sore on her side.

Had a weird dream last night where I lived in an idealic forest / lake town. It was really pretty and everyone who lived nearby were friendly people. I lived opposite a lake and while visiting my sister, she told me a story about an old woman she saw swimming with ease, then the woman stood on a rock ledge in the lake and just stared at her forever. After she told me about the woman, I watched the lake in my dream and saw her, too. This old woman in a blue old nighty staring at me. The woman proceeded to keep haunting me throughout the dream until eventually, I took my dog to the lake and we realised it was super shallow and could traverse to where the woman was. Anyway, we got there and she vanished and the rest of the dream was me realising she wasnt a bad entity and that I couldn't find her anymore.
Woke up early and feeling really depressed and the looney, spiritual side of me says it was some kinda horrible forshadowing.
