Western animation has been at a real low point for the last few years, when people say they want "adult animation" western network and cable channel and streaming service execs all seem to think they either mean porno or Family Guy clones when often they at least want some variety.

Instead, with a few exceptions "adult" Western animation tends towards

-Rick and Morty/Big Mouth/Family Guy/Whatever Series Was Sort of Popular For Awhile Clones

-Drawn Together/Brickleberry type shows where the humor is derived from cheap shock value

-Hideous character design and art for the sake of being ugly

And people will latch onto anything that looks like none of these just because it's different. Variety is what people want.

This woman isn't apparently in the industry. And in any case, this is barely pedophilic. I've known animators who've drawn worse (mind you, they weren't doing it for fap material).

So, has anyone seen Amphibia, yet? I've actually been enjoying that, so far, while everyone else (thankfully not here) is pretty much melting down over this BS, right about now.

Apologies for being late, but I've seen it. It's pretty good, with some pretty decent characters. It has inspired a bit of fear-mongering against one of the animators. So far, the community is small (like most shows starting out) and devoted. Also, the baby tadpole character is the best imo.

What still makes me mad to this day is that there will never be a CD Release of This Song Sends Love Through because the master tapes were stolen from the warehouse that housed them. I really wish they would try to remaster it the way The Rocky Horror Picture Show Boxset Absolute Tresure remastered Planet Schmanent Janet (By finding ways to remove the dialogue/movie sound affects) but I know it's a long shot because Rock and Rule is sadly not as well-known as The Rocky Horror Picture Show. It's a shame because that song showcases Robin Zander and Debrah Harry at their peak

I watched a YouTube upload of that movie and I have to ask: is it supposed to be that slow?
When they speak and emote it feels like the video is playing too slowly but then other parts of the animation (like the singing) look the right speed. Am I just too used to today's ADHD-tier editing, did they do that on purpose to make animating for mouth flaps easier or something??

It could be that the updater modified the video to avoid copywright. If that's not the case, it's probably you're more used to more modern editing than the older variety.

I don't think it's modified because the run time matches up so I guess it is the editing. On another note, a few years ago I stumbled across a lady on DeviantArt who really had a thing for Mok, it was a tiny bit cowish.

So... A certain show that almost looks like Bojack Horseman called Tuca and Bertie got canned. Also, Big Mouth got renewed for a third season and more. Thoughts?

Being honest, I saw Tuca and Bertie getting canned from a mile away, as much as I actually didn't hate it like most of the net obviously does (I actuappy kinda liked it... yeah.) - unlike Bojack, though, it's not hard to see why it failed; no strong appeal or hype, plus too much SJWBS surrounding it behind the scenes.

As for Big Mouth still going... Don't care. Not shocked it did find an audience, though. Too bad it's clearly not one worth being proud of. Bile fascination always finds a way - otherwise this site wouldn't exist, for example.

So far Ive only seen 3 episodes, but its been pretty meh. Basically, its about a 12 yr old going to a fantasy land to escape the reality of growing up. The main character reggie seems too bratty for my taste and in general is very awkward with how it handles the "mature parts"

Like in the first ep reggie's mom gives her a bra for her 12th birthday in front of her guy friend and older brother. Or how her guy friend was cool with reading a book about periods.

When it's not uncomfortable its just kinda boring, my fave character was the witch person.

Sidenote, it was meant to be on cartoon network but I guess CN got cold feet in the end

THIS show is only good for the Butt Witch, as she's called. This is just Star Vs., but worse and even more riddled with SJWBS.

Think I'm making the right call NOT to watch this, honestly. After all, the pilot CN had showed me what I'm saying - the Butt Witch was who the show should've really been about. And no one else.

Seriously, forgetting this show might be for the best. I'm just waiting for Hilda and Harvey Street Kids to drop some new episodes, someday.

I'm just hella disappointed that the Shane kid from the pilot got shafted in favor of the Diversity Squad™. I enjoyed how he was a really mellow, practical guy compared to the main character but wasn't a huge stick in the mud.

The only other character that particularly stood out to me was the Butt Witch, solely because she's voiced by Matt Berry, who is fucking amazing.
