Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

Not that I care or that this show has a chance, but is this one also written and directed by the same people that did the previous garbage?
Sadly it looks to be even worse woke garbage.

Why do I need to care that Maria fights against inequality? She's a 10 year old girl that can cast animal based magic power that kill vampires.

Maria was a joke character and an easy mode for the game since she had way more reach and smaller hitbox. And I'm sure they'll make her an annoying brat old for an age rather than likable in any way.

Obligatory Buzz Lightyear of Star Command appreciation post.

Easily one of Disney's biggest mistakes is burying this cartoon and replacing it with a poorly-written CGI movie (Lightyear 2022 does have cool designs and cool toys, I will admit -- it was a disappointment on all other fronts).

I love how this has an interesting, colourful, wacky world full of cool villains, neat robots, and weird planets, with some pretty interesting stories as well. It's also diverse (it has a black character and a female character) without being preachy or having diversity as the main draw, which is the main issue with woke media. It involves galactic police, a concept I fell in love with because of the Lego line (this cartoon does mirror the world of Space Police III very well by the way). I was always curious about the world Buzz Lightyear came from since it seemed pretty cool and interesting from what I saw in the Toy Story movies and games; this show answered all my questions when I saw it. My mind was blown when I saw other people wearing space ranger uniforms in this cartoon. I also like that Zurg was given a comedic side; it made me a lot less scared of him. Finally, and most importantly, the little green aliens are in this, and the aliens are of course supreme!!!

Pantheon season 2 has been picked up and will be distributed by Amazon. Releases on the 15th of October.
Holy shit I can't believe it, Pantheon was great.
Oh hey, a scifi spy thriller show about artificial intelligence, conspiracies, mystery and intrigue WITH a unique animation style to boot? That sounds pretty goo-

Hillariously hard fucking pass.

I don't want to imagine how they would react to this other Bluey. :story:
"NOOOO WHY IS THERE A RACIST WHITE MAN WHERE ARE MY HECKIN PUPPERINOS YALL?!"

Man, I remember this show a little. I remember I also had the video game for GameBoy Color, but I could never get past the first level.

The show had a lot of baggage. It was good, but given the history I can see why it was buried.

Pixar hated this series, going as far as to disallow association in other Toy Story media. At the time, Eisner was going on power trips and wanted to utilize Toy Story for cheap products without Pixar’s consent. They would constantly but heads over material. Toy Story 2 was a compromise as Eisner wanted a direct-to-DVD film, so Pixar fought him until they made the sequel.

Star Command was the project where Eisner over stepped. He developed a show seemingly without Pixar’s consent (or more likely forcing them to agree) and had little involvement from them beyond the opening, I presume. Pixar was furious about the series, which furthered the goal to break away from Disney till Iger stepped in. The series, amongst other decisions, could have easily costed Disney one of their premier studios as they took the series as the insult and power play that it was.

Give it two episodes and then see if it's a pass or not. Trust me.
You understand why I'm a bit apprehensive tho right? The description of the main character has literally every single red flag I can think of.

"A smart, strong intelligent girl that's not like all the other girls because she's not into girl stuff, she's into boy stuff, that's right she's into computers and she's a computer genious better than all the boys, heh, what now chuds? She's also like super quirky and shy and a wallflower xd"

Whole character is the definition of "Daring today, aren't we?"

Shit, its a basically a tumblr bio.

A Booster toy appeared as a character in the 2009/2010 Toy Story comics published by Boom Comics. And apparently Disney uploaded an episode to their Hindi channel just a few months ago, so maybe Pixar is more tolerant of it since 2006?
Lasseter was the big driving force behind the bans, but him and his crew have been ousted from the company since 2018.

As for the 09 comic, apparently it may have been done without Lasseter’s knowledge, leading to fights and the character only being in one issue.
