Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

I'm sure it's been brought up before somewhere in the 800 pages of the thread, but I really liked this era of Superman/Batman TAS/JL. The art looked, to me, like nothing else of the time or after, and the voice acting was oftentimes well above the grade for a kid's cartoon. '{...}but here I am god" is such a hard line for what is pretty much a kid's show, and would be far from the only time those shows would touch on and explore some of the more mature themes of their characters. Gotta say it again but the voice acting for a great part of those shows was incredible. I could listen to Clancy Brown's Luthor for hours.

I never really got much into capeshit, but I've definitely put on some JLU reruns in my lifetime.
The JLU intro was also incredible. Once you hear it, it's like...goddamn.

Also ironically the evil TERF team seems to have more racial variety than the troon team.

I thought Greer's daughter was the Troon at first and that it would be team DEI learning it was okay/overcoming their "bad" feelings.

Of course that type of storytelling involves a level of conciousness and lack of narcissism that uppity niggertroon faggots do not possess. They are the best! Everything is about them!

I know a lot of it is down to nostalgia, but the 90's and early 2000's still felt like the peak of kids TV to me. There's been some more modern shows I've connected with, but I don't think we'll see an era like that ever again. Not in our lifetimes, at least.

idk if this is where to post this or not but it probably fits the best. so anywhore I fuck with looney tunes heavy. I have since I was a kid, it's the one franchise as far as WA goes I have never stopped liking. anyways the new Daffy Duck and Porky Pig movie, The Day the Earth Blew Up hit streaming in Europe and hits theaters in the US in February so I went on a torrent search the other night and I ended up watching it. be careful there's a few torrents out there and a few of them are mislabeled copies of the Al Pacino movie And Justice for All from 1979. which is also a good movie but not what the fuck I was looking for, look for the one with chinese characters in the name that's around 4gbs.

anywho, it rules. think invasion of the body snatchers starring daffy duck. some of the jokes I wonder if will hit the US release though there is a whole extended section where an alien abducts them towards the end where daffy rambles about ass rape in truck stop bathrooms (I'm not kidding) and later on in the movie close to the very end he tells Porky "there is only one thing I'm good at, pulling my crank" which had me dying. anyways it felt like the kind of goofy shit we got in the 90s when every comedy cartoon was looking back at the golden age (cow and chicken, ren and stimpy etc) and was legitimately one of the only times I haven't absolutely hated a modern cartoon in like 20 years. I wish more modern animation was like this, and less were looking at shit like adventure time and jerking off.

moral of the story is if you're like me and think there hasn't been even an attempt at a funny kids movie in a long time, the new looney tunes movie rules and is out there online and hopefully people go see it in a few months and we get some more. my only problem with it is it's literally just a daffy and porky movie and I hoped for a bugs cameo outside of Elmer there is nobody else in it and Elmer just says one line and is gone.
I also saw the movie and it's genuinely good. Not a great masterpiece but a funny light hearted comedy romp with enough plot and character drama to keep invested. It's well animated, voice acting is fine, had various tones from creepy to loony and nothing woke or anti woke about it. It's just a fun 2D animated family movie.

Personal highlights.

Petunia is a fine love interest. She has a personality, serves the plot and comedy, and her and Porky's moments don't feel forsed. It was genuinely cute how Daffy managed to be an unintentional wing man.

It’s the End of the World as We Know It - fighting secment. It was just fun and some of the more impressive animated moves.

The scientist. I enjoyed every moment with him, regardless if he was a serious heroic man or a gum zombie.

"Due to current political climate"
AKA "We know this shit isn't selling anymore so we'll just say that Trump will send the Gestapo after us for releasing a show that nobody except a few manchildren will watch."
Also, why is Trump's America shutting down some cartoons like this but Acrane is still coming out yet has gay characters? Oh wait, it's because people actually watch it because it's focused on telling a good story instead of shoving gender ideology down kids' throats.

EDIT FOR PROPER CONTEXT: This episode of the Disney Channel animated series Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, fittingly titled The Gatekeeper, was reportedly canned from airing in the United States due to prominently featuring a transgender character, transgenderism being a contentious topic that allegedly helped Donald Trump win the 2024 election.
God damn, they bitch about Jynx and Mr Popo and then draw the most tar-baby looking niggers ever.

Also is loony loo's team named "the squirrels" as a reference to squirrel girl? If it is I love how it all comes around full circle as I'm of the mind that unbeatable squirrel girl from 2015ish? Was the ground zero for woke marvel.

Never cared for her much but damn talk about a glow DOWN

I actually liked her in the 2012 spider man show

n case anyone wants a breakdown w/ screen caps without actually having to watch the Moon Girl episode "The Gatekeeper":

We're introduced to our ensemble cast of loud annoying nigger (he's also a tranny), Asian nigger (she's also a non-binary pooner), Muslim nigger, three other niggers, glasses nigger, annoying midget who bobs her head like a chicken when she sings and white coach.
Reply options fucked again, so lemme just answer here: this is the elaborate, imaginative prose i love the Farms's summaries for, reminds me of @Judge Holden The Watch and @Honka Honka Burning Love Wheel of Time summaries - saves the time you would waste watching this slop, while being more entertaining then the show itself :semperfidelis:

From the description, i kinda get, why they decided to put this episode on ice - it's waaaay on the nose (schnoze more like) and it might brought the woke elements to the spotlight, especially in something marketed for kids (even in 2023, if the Disney spokeperson is to be trusted)

yeah I might have been a little hyperbolic or over hyped it up a little, but it feels like every time I end up sitting down to watch a modern kids film it's shoved full of heavy handed shit or really lazy jokes. the one joke I thought sucked in this one was daffy deciding to be an influencer and then twerking on camera for a minute because that felt like the kind of lazy shit I'm talking about that plagues most modern kid's comedies. I was happy the whole movie wasn't like that. it was also nice to see a 2D animated movie for the first time in forever and the animation isn't mind blowing or anything, but I just tend to like 2d over cg animation in general so it was nice to see.

I also loved the Scientist guy. and I liked Petunia well enough, she wasn't irritating or anything like a lot of kid's movie love interests tend to be.

The link just got taken down. Please share the name.
No fucking way really? Well thank christ I still had it opened in another tab, it's name is "Microbe Václav Mergl (1986)".
EDIT: NVM I'm a retard and somehow completely missed the last character in the link I was copying, it's up now.

Reminds me a bit (story wise atleast) of Il était une fois... la Vie

I was getting that vibe.

I had the Nelvanamation VHS as a kid and this is was on it. I miss old school Canada animation. This is pretty much the same plot as Rock and Rule.
Pixar ripped off some of the plot to Romeo and Juliet 8 for Wall-e:
In a way, Randy Newman was to Pixar as John Sebastian was to Nelvana.

G.I. Joe Resolute's definitely the one I'm more familiar with, and is my personal favorite animated iteration of G.I. Joe ever made.
GI Joe Resolute is the SHIT. I recommend it to anyone whenever the series comes up. I was always mad it didn't get sequels or a series. when I was a little kid I was a GI Joe sperg. I had tons of the comics too that came from garage sales and shit, I think I had damn near 100 of the 155 issues. anyways I was in middle or high school when this came out and I had a friend who had been to my house and seen that the few little kid things I hadn't parted with were GI Joe shit, and that dude taped it for me on a vhs on adult swim when it aired. I didn't even know it existed or was coming out and I was stoned as fuck in his basement and he was like you're gonna love this shit and popped that in his tiny ass little vcr combo tv at 2 am on some saturday. it was awesome, the GI Joe movie I always wanted (the live action movie hit a few months later and sucked ass). it was cool because I had never even had a conversation with this dude about GI Joe he just knew it was something I apparently liked and they made a grown up version and had it ready to go.

Doesn’t stop a select group of the terminally online in the comments and Xitter from calling it “beautiful” and “important messaging” lololol.

the series was created by team of people who were not black but wanted to create a series where black characters are front and center
American culture is centered around niggers. They have holidays for niggers. They killed hundreds of thousands of white men to free niggers. They listen to nigger music. They elected a nigger president. They dress and act like niggers. They draw the entirety of their modern culture from niggers. They post sassy gifs about niggers. They watch sportsball in worship of niggers. Their biggest event of the year involves throwing parties in honor of niggers playing sports. They use nigger slang like “bruh” and “thot”. When you say Martin Luther, they’re not thinking of the father of protestantism. They’re thinking of the nigger. Their cities are completely overrun with niggers. They worship their ZOGbot police force disproportionately filled with niggers and their global police force filled with niggers. Their men sit around watching niggerball while their women sit around watching nigger talk shows. They worship niggers like Mike Tyson, Michael Jordan, Muhammad Ali, Michael Jackson, while ignoring the whites who actually built their country before niggers took over. Their movies are filled with niggers and and their music charts are filled with niggers. They send niggers to the Olympics and celebrate when the niggers win because those are true red blooded American niggers. They watch nigger porn to the point where “BBC” does not make them think of an international media company but about nigger penises instead. America has been and will always be a nation of nigger-loving niggers.
Nigger worship is the official religion of America. Niggers are America’s gods. Americans fear niggers like a mortal would fear God. They’re not allowed to curse or speak ill of niggers, like how you mustn’t blaspheme God or take his name in vain. They devote entire institutions in academia and media to remind themselves of their sins against niggers, and beg for mercy, like you’d beg God for forgiveness for your sins. The only landmarks and monuments they’re allowed to revere are parks, schools, and statues dedicated to famous niggers, immortalized in marble, like gods.
While their ancestors expressed devotion to gods through offerings of food and drink, present-day Americans created food stamps for niggers for this very purpose. Jesus gets two annual days of reverence, while niggers get an entire month, plus MLK’s birthday and Juneteenth. Americans prostrate themselves in the streets to appease niggers.
