Pan can not finish a damn thing for LokiIRL to save his life. Even the pilot for this property is not going to be finished when it goes public. He has been at this for 15ish years? Constant redesigns, rewriting characters, and even aborting the web comic for it after around 20 pages. How the hell did the webcomic have better art then what he showed off for the pilot? The man turned into the biggest industry kiss ass all for this.
A video I’ll post below sums it up pretty well. Pan isn’t an animator, nor a particularly great artist. He is a graphic designer by trade, a skill that heavily pushed his YouTube channel to the top during the early years, but not something that translates well into animation.

Is it cringe or just boring?
This video sums it up pretty well:

OK, any new creatives who happen to be lurking on here, a word of advice:

STOP. INSERTING. YOURSELVES. INTO. YOUR. WORK. IT'S GETTING OLD.
That isn’t his self insert, Pan has too much of a humiliation fetish for it to be. If I am not mistaken, his whole premise is that her and Loki are narcissists, so this checks out.

His actual self-insert is the Trans one she is talking too. He used to joke about that character being his “non-existent” sister Emily, but it is pretty obvious it is just him.

Nobody "dumps on" the classic Disney movies.
Except Tolkien and C.S. Lewis. Granted, they did claim the animation was good even if they hated how Disney “dumbed down” the stories

I haven't watched early morning Cartoon Network in ages, what was the last "hey kids buy our card game" TV show? Yokai Watch?
Either something with LEGO - Mixels and Nexo Knights - or probably Mighty Magiswords.

it was funny in that amazingly great shit Megaman comic from Brazil because of how it was physically published, but yeah it rarely works intentionally

This video sums it up pretty well:
"Why don't you maybe try to take us through an episode?"
>Ah-kay, well, it's based on a webcomic that I'm doing.
>The first episode is essentially them just having a fight in a supermarket, but if they cause too much damage, they have to pay for that.
>But they want to win, but they can't be too, uh, blitz (?) in stuff-

>Don't you want to live in Cool World?

Yea I don't think he took that advice to heart.

Edit: I looked up whether there were any live pitches for Adult Swim since this one in 2020. Couldn't find any. Even if this wasn't the worst pitch, I can see why they shitcanned the idea.

That actually sums it up perfectly. The graphic design in his videos and Loki IRL's website are unironically miles ahead of even some of the slop I've seen today, but his animation and art skills when it comes to the characters is just evidently NOT what he's good at.

"Ourselfs"
Ugh, that grammar...

That's the weird thing with anthro stories, is how do the predators get meat if prey animals are also people? Zootopia said predators "used" to eat prey (but doesn't say what they do now,)
Zootopia actually has the 'nivores eat fish according to WoG, so they're okay...

beastars has some kind of underground meat market thing and meat substitutes,
Unlike those poor sods, who don't even have fish (the point is brought up at one point and the leading man says "screw them", despite that Beastar being a hypocrite horse who indirectly ate meat). Even better, it's implied that the herbivores were intentionally weakening and dumbing down carnivores for generations.
However, the plot in Beastars sucks.
You know, maybe I'm silly, but I'd love a show or a series that makes that issue its whole concept. Maybe that's what Beastars is, idk, but a show about anthro animals trying to function in society despite the nature of predator/prey, that'd be interesting.
They wouldn't unless there's a meat substitute that works 100% at least, that's the bare minimum or it can't work.

A lot of animal senses are actually worse than human ones, you furry.
Hey, I'm just going with fictional use of animal senses. Last time I've checked, I don't have a good sense of smell like say a dog.

Zootopia is a race realist film form the liberal perspective. They mention multiple times that predator animals are more violent than pray Animals, but racism is bad so don't do it. You'll even remember that this is said to the mayor of the town by a scientist, the mayor WHO IS A LION! It never solves the problem of the nature of predators it just says racism is bad, I've only ever seen two people bring this up Max G.(hotdiggitydemon) and an old Wisecrack video from back before they went full retard. It's amazing to me that our race obsessed time hasn't talked about this more but all everyone who saw it walked away with was "it says racism is bad and that is good and I am good and think racism is bad so I will say that the movie is good and not think about it"

The "you can totally fuck cartoon characters" bit is NOT something I'd add in a setting like this, because what's stopping anyone from making their own IRLs just so you can fuck them? Hell, the fact that they can reproduce just makes things even more confusion because of Rebeltaxi's cartoony artstyle, so it's hard to tell who's a toon, who's a half-toon half-human, and who's a regular human?

Bellweather was so clearly in the right she wasn't even made out to be a villain until like the last five minutes of the movie.

Tubi has a handful of cheap original animated shows, I guess it's a dumping ground for shows that aren’t even good enough to be added to Fox's animation lineup with little or no fanfare or interest, before being cancelled to little or no fanfare or interest.

First look at ‘Breaking Bear’, which follows a family of bears who go full criminal to stop frackers, mobsters & a wolf pack from destroying their home. Brendan Fraser, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Annie Murphy, Elizabeth Hurley & Josh Gad will star, coming soon to Tubi.

Oh man, "Breaking Bears"? These people obviously their fingers on the pulse of pop culture. I'm sure with "fracking" being involved there will also be some spot on political satire, like how the blonde reporter's mic is marked "News 69"! Oh, the hilarity. I can't wait to see if they will have a 1980s movie parody episode, because those just never get old.

The art style gives off the sense of being a hybrid of degraded Family Guy and Brickleberry knockoffs. It's at a weird crossroads of being the ugliest and the most generic style at the same time - most "adult" animation in the US is either one or the other.

What really strikes me, though is that specific plot and characters aside, you've seen "this show" before. For over a decade, networks and streaming services have been trying to make 'this show' over and over. Few ever watch "this show", those who do hate it, and it gets cancelled after 1 or 2 seasons max. In part, it's because this show gets made by networks and streaming platforms putting their trust, over and over again, in the hands of inept hacks and Hollywood celebrities instead of proven cartoon talent - and when they do put their trust in the latter, they often breath down their necks and needlessly interfere.

It's almost like he's a Dummy that thought that detail would make it edgy and interesting instead of retarded and weird.
Bellweather was so clearly in the right she wasn't even made out to be a villain until like the last five minutes of the movie.
You can't use animals for a racism allegory and not have it be problematic from a liberal perspective.
"But it says racism bad" yes, but it dose so hilariously poorly.

THANK you. Unless that's a pivotal thing in the show, why would reproducing ever, ever, ever come up?? And double thank you for the "who's a toon and who's not" thing. At the very least, could the toons have brighter colors and the normies be all beige and normal colored?

I think the message was actually that predators AREN'T inherently more violent, because prey animals can also go crazy from night howlers. It was just the night howlers that made the predators a threat, otherwise predators are just shit on the entire movie for being predators and having once threatened prey.
1747083534207.webp This is just Loona from Helluva Boss, but aimed at boomers. Prove me wrong.

Eh. I've seen much worse. Maybe the fact that they're all cartoon animals helps soften the blow.
It'll heavily depend on how it looks in motion though. When the tween-o-rama starts I expect the cracks to begin to show.

Admittedly I only saw the movie once, but I like my interpretation better. It's funnier anyway.

But the funny part is that predators AREN'T shown to be more violent, and the hostile ones are criminals, so the racism angle is a bit flaky...
Bellweather was so clearly in the right she wasn't even made out to be a villain until like the last five minutes of the movie.
Also this, she shows up too late. Consequences of rewriting the plot to make the bunny the protagonist and not the fox, as he was meant to be.

Jeebus, this and the animals in heat cartoon... Are furries getting into the cartoon industry in increasingly large numbers?

I sort of mentioned this in another thread but because a thing makes a joke does not mean it is now a standard to make biting social commentary. A lot of people can't tell when the satire starts and when it ends so they take something that is meant to be a lukewarm joke (the trump episode from Family Guy) and take it seriously on face value. You can also throw this at Metal Gear since it has been clear unless i missed something that Kojima and everyone who worked on it meant for the politics to be contained to the series itself not to be taken seriously.

That is a series where all sorts of things like fictional science (cybernetics, nanomachines, mechs, etc) meet near mystical elements with real world politics being the inspiration for the events that all of these things take place. If anyone is looking at Metal Gear as a sign of how irl politics or technology are shifting they are an actual lunatic.
