Tubi has a handful of cheap original animated shows, I guess it's a dumping ground for shows that aren’t even good enough to be added to Fox's animation lineup with little or no fanfare or interest, before being cancelled to little or no fanfare or interest.
First look at ‘Breaking Bear’, which follows a family of bears who go full criminal to stop frackers, mobsters & a wolf pack from destroying their home. Brendan Fraser, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Annie Murphy, Elizabeth Hurley & Josh Gad will star, coming soon to Tubi.
Oh man, "Breaking Bears"? These people obviously their fingers on the pulse of pop culture. I'm sure with "fracking" being involved there will also be some spot on political satire, like how the blonde reporter's mic is marked "News 69"! Oh, the hilarity. I can't wait to see if they will have a 1980s movie parody episode, because those just never get old.
The art style gives off the sense of being a hybrid of degraded Family Guy and Brickleberry knockoffs. It's at a weird crossroads of being the ugliest and the most generic style at the same time - most "adult" animation in the US is either one or the other.
What really strikes me, though is that specific plot and characters aside, you've seen "this show" before. For over a decade, networks and streaming services have been trying to make 'this show' over and over. Few ever watch "this show", those who do hate it, and it gets cancelled after 1 or 2 seasons max. In part, it's because this show gets made by networks and streaming platforms putting their trust, over and over again, in the hands of inept hacks and Hollywood celebrities instead of proven cartoon talent - and when they do put their trust in the latter, they often breath down their necks and needlessly interfere.
