>comparing Lilo to Luz
View attachment 3058067
Nigga, please. Lilo, even in her flanderized TV incarnation, will always be a better character than Luz, simply because of the fact that she has a noble goal: finding all of Stitch's cousins, and finding them a suitable home. That's not even getting into her characterization in the original movie, which is still to this day, one of the best written child characters in fiction. What are Luz's goals? Learning magic? She barely even focuses on that. Finding her way home? Doesn't even cross her mind (gee, way to be considerate of your mother, who's probably worried sick about you, bitch). You're comparing apples to oranges with those two. "Any kid character in western animation from the last couple years"? THAT comparison, I agree with.
Eh fair point there, it's been a while since I saw lilo and stitch in full and the most I remember off the top of my head is Lilo doing some voodoo ritual because " my friends need to be punished." And the whole pudge the fish thing.

My point is season one Luz is a little odd but no where the retarded androgynous clown she'd ultimately end up as. Usually it takes a western show a decade or so maybe five years before characters become flanderized into shells of their former selfs. Owl house accomplished that in just a couple.

I am going to be honest, I never got the hype over Ed, Edd n’ Eddy.

I feel the same way about Foster's home for imaginary friends. The show suffered two problems in its writing. It was either too slow and boring or too hyper and wacky. One minute you'd have something like this:
And the next it's this:

The show was either slow and dull as if it was written by/for autistic kids or it was hyper and loud as if it was written by/for ADHD kids... actually given the people who worked on it, I'm not too far off in saying that.

My twitter feed is nothing but my mutuals retweeting and proclaiming themselves how safe and faggoty their accounts are because of what disney did. Which should be nothing new regardless of beliefs and will have no consequences because queen bee disney needs worker drones, artists need money/recognition, and consumers need to consoom. If they think they could do to disney what they did to scott cawthon (he also got caught donating to both sides), they're dumber and gayer than they look.

Fucking bitch.
With that face? She literally sucked dicks to have the actual position she has now.
Well she's dating Alex Hirsch so you're correct. 🚬

For once I respect Disney.
Don't bother. Disney is already backpedaling for the overgrown spoiled brats who are saying "it's too little too late".

Well happy they piss off both sides.

Seriously how is this a human rights issue? It's a crime that you don't want your kids to be groomed at a young age?

They also short-changed the staff by advertising each "book" as one season when in reality there were all part of the initial batch. This sort of thing is all too common in animation these days.

Netflix is doing the same thing with The Cuphead Show, apparently:
TL;DW: Apparently "Season 2" is actually the second half of Season 1 to avoid paying high salaries for the animators and writers.

How does artificially splitting a season into two parts screw over the animators and writers? I assume they’re still doing the same amount of work overall, except it’s in one sitting instead of being re-contracted for the second season.

Apparently, Netflix ordered one batch of episodes to avoid giving said animators and writers pay raises and benefits, then split it in half and advertised it as a separate season to make it seem like more than it actually is:

It does seem a little bizarre that Cuphead is getting a second season so quickly. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m sure the people behind it love the game and we’re excited to make this, but the second season is supposed to come out in the next FOUR months?

I might not know the animation industry as I thought I did, but this just seems rushed to me for some reason. Not even my favorite anime getting renewed quickly for a second and third season seems as suspicious, and that’s just a completely different story in of itself.

Netflix has been doing this with all their animated series. The same was done to Kid Cosmic.

If that's so, my question is, why did nobody make as big of a stink about it then? Not even with nu She-Ra, which had five "seasons". My guess is they're being opportunistic grifters, as always. Netflix has been doing it for God knows how long, but NOW, suddenly it's a big issue? Because of a fucking hashtag? I dunno, I'm getting shades of #MeToo from this #NewDeal4Animation shit. And we all know how well the former turned out.....

i get that vibe too, especally when they all repeat the whole "animaion is the most streamed thing on streaming services blah blah blah" but ignore that all the stuff that does get streams are CGI animated movies and old shows, not the calarts shit they make

The first time I noticed this practice was in 2018 when I learned that Voltron: Legendary Defender had seven seasons under its belt at the time, despite having come out only two years before; however, the seasons themselves ranged from six to thirteen episodes each* (keep in mind that an average season in a U.S. TV series is about twenty episodes long, give or take). Upon further research, I discovered that this was done for the North American release, but for the South Korean release, the series was divided into three seasons of twenty-six episodes each; however, this was only after the original North American run.

Now, I am no expert in the practices of the Western Animation Industry, let alone Western Entertainment as a whole, but the reason for this is because binge-watching is now a norm for audiences, and when audiences have reached the end of a series, their interest will wain within a few months as new things come round the the corner. The problem with this, however, is that it puts pressure on animators, scriptwriters, producers, etc. to meet the quota for a number of episodes to put out in time for the official release, and then work on the episodes that have yet to be release, which only screws up any and all progress on the show's development, which is what happened to V:LD that resulted in the series suffering from narrative issues and character development because of these changes (of course, the main complaint people have with the series is about how it "buries the gays" because Shiro had a boyfriend who's killed off only minutes after being introduced)

*Seasons 1, 2, 7 & 8 were thirteen episodes long, while Seasons 3 & 6 were seven episodes long, and Seasons 4 and 5 were six episodes long.
Lot of people are wanting to speak up against shady shit in animation now that there's the opportunity to change something. A lot of it is true, and it goes back a long way.

I'm not saying that it isn't true. I'm saying "the opportunity to change something" has BEEN there since social media's inception, and yet, not until today, when this conveniently timed "movement" shows up outta absolutely nowhere, do people finally take advantage of said opportunity. Hard to think that there aren't ulterior motives here.

It's been going on for a few months, and there wasn't much of an opportunity to change things until the union negotiations began. When you see an opportunity, you strike, and this is the moment.

Hopefully it won’t be co-opted for petty bullshit…oh who am I kidding?

^This is precisely what I was trying to convey with my earlier posts. Might've started with noble intentions, but much like #MeToo, this movement has all the makings for opportunistic grifters to co-opt it for minor shit. After all, "the road to hell is often paved with noble intentions."

Japan is still worse, though - the burnout is worse, the workload is worse... and there's no real way to fix a lot of the problems. Unions are not a thing there. The pay in America, at least, is better than what you get in Japan.

And what do you propose to fix that issue, Bill? Because while Japanese and East Asian/Oriental Animation Industries have problems, they are largely epidemic to them; Western Animation Industries (i.e. U.S., Canada, South and Central America, and both Western and Eastern Europe) problems, on the other hand, have been pandemic, in that what happens to them affects everyone. So while animators and such are seeking gain more rights and improvements in the work environment, you will have the chucklefucks who'll ruin it for everyone with their stupid petty antics and you are only cheering them on as they bring everyone down. If some good could come out of this, even a minuscule one, it could lead to reformation in the workforce for Eastern Animation, though take this with a big :optimistic: . Just remember that doesn't matter how many fags, dykes, troons, niggers, spics, or gooks they add to their production teams even on an "executive" level, what matters is that there is a human shield in affect to defend these companies and their shitty practices, even if unintended.
Speaking of Disney, it seems they're getting dragged by a bunch of their staff over for giving money to Politicians who supported Florida's "Don't Say Gay" Bill, and generally being one-sided when it comes to LGBT issues.

And now Dana Terrace has made a video response on the whole thing.

Boy is this livestream gonna be a shitshow if any of her previous streams are anything to go by...

I'd insert that meme about choosing to push a button. You know the one?

Support multi billion dollar company that makes product.

Support the LGBTQIA cause and boycott product.

It'd laugh if I could remember how...or maybe the idea has just become too much of a cliche to be funny anymore.

I say boycott the product.

You would think that’s what they would do and it’s what one would do if they feel strongly about this subject. But as seen with past controversies once a new product is pushed out people will glue themselves to that and eventually everything will be swept under the rug. Like clockwork.

For once I respect Disney.

keep supporting the "evil capitalistic boomer corporation" or stop shlicking to cartoon lesbians??? man, I wish I was an American libtard sometimes.

The whole reason for this protest by Disney employees, animators, and producers is because Disney isn't acknowledging Florida's 'Don't Say Gay' Bill' (as called by Pro-Queer activists because it limits, if not outright prohibits, teaching of LGBTQAICUP++ shit to kids); now regardless of your opinion of the Bill itself*, what matters is that The Walt Disney Company's lack of a response towards this has sparked outrage from its faggot employees like Dana Terrace and Joaquin Baldwin, because Florida is home to one of their largest parks and the site of many of their urban development projects like the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow (not to be confuse with the E.P.C.O.T. Theme Park), which Disney isn't going to retaliate too strongly, versus Georgia, which passed a bill prohibiting troons from using the toilets of the other sex, and they pulled production out of the state with little trouble. Personally, fuck them both and more importantly fuck industry-cucks and the faggots that they support.

*IMO, faggots and trannies of all walks are a blight to American Society, let alone Western Civilisation, and it would be best to remove them immediately, as well as the liberals and leftists that enable them

the whole issue with this is that Disney isn't taking any

You just answered your own question there buddy boy. Say anything bad about teaching alphabet lifestyles in schools or on tv and they send dyfs to take your kids away. Funny how they call anyone who disagrees with them "Nazis" and yet they've turned social services into their own personal gestapo. Also funny how they claim That's what dyfs is doing to toon parents or the parents of kids that troon out.

But before I moai head too much and to liven things up dyk there was almost a cartoon based on Rob liefeild's young blood?

This demo/pitch pilot was recently found, before the only evidence it existed was parts of this animation being used for 90s young blood action figure commercials. Oddly enough the network this was pitched to was none other than Fox kids. The same network that produced and aired Marvel's X-Men cartoon at the same time.

It really is, though. If you haven't caught on that corporations ain't your buddy by now, nothing I can do for you. And, at the same time, if the corporations haven't caught on that this shit is toxic... well, they've got money.
Stuff like this is why I wonder why people want their identities so badly validated by corporations or get betrayed/pissy when corporations don’t pander the “right way”.

Oh yeah, I remember hearing about this. Given how big X-Men and other Marvel cartoons were, it’s not surprising that Image tried cashing in; there was also a WildCATs cartoon and a Cyberforce cartoon was in the works.

As if it didn’t need to be said, please take the time out of your day to watch Heavy Metal.

I don’t remember the username, but someone on KF once posted that this scene predicted how the police in America would be treated if they were under a police cyber state:

Might be a little hyperbolic, but its kind of hard not to notice that most of this fantasy has (somewhat) become reality today.

And in 40 years time!

Since I can't quote that large-ass post 7 or so posts above this one. I'd like to point out that the only time I've seen Netflix do the whole "Season 2 is its own thing" deal is with some of their anime titles, and even then, probably only with B the Beginning's second season given their other titles are either directly tied into their previous episodes or were released only months after their "first seasons", while that show needed 3 years to get a second batch of episodes out. And it was only a six episode order that were nothing more than glorified padding and ended on a cliffhanger that resolves nothing. And it's unclear if there'll be more episodes to wrap things up.

Them pulling this stunt on their western fare has gotten so common that I'm convinced that for most of them, the show is either near complete or fully completed its episode order, it's just that Netflix really needs those Netbux to keep viewer interest up.

Anyone notice how the audio has higher quality in the Savino seasons of Dexter’s Laboratory? It sounds more a lot more clear than the Tartokovksy era.
Probably had a different studio involved in recording or mixing the tracks on those episodes. Reminded this was around the time Time Warner shut down the original Hanna-Barbera studio and moved to Sherman Oaks.
