I've been hearing a lot of animation people say that things are going back to the way they were in the 80s. I assume this is what they were talking about.

Though the 80s laid the conditions that led to the 90s, so perhaps this'll all be for the best.

(BTW, remember when Netflix was one of the few players in streaming and it had a little bit of everything on it? Now everyone has their own streaming service and Netflix has nothing.)

Given the sheer amount of money Riot invested into Arcane, it'll probably be safe.

I do worry about the fate of DOTA 2's Dragon's Blood, given how more hands-off Valve is in general, and because Valve spent a lot less money in it, in comparison.

Nimona is being distributed on netflix, not made by them. And the article's writer specified it's animation series, not movies, getting shaken up. Unless Stevenson is a fid kucker her gay show movie will go on.

Netflix is netfucking itself even further with more password sharing crackdowns. I'm one executive/CEO scandal away from buying marshmallows to roast over the flaming pile.

BONE was among the cancelled netflix shows that was the most anticipated among hardcore animation fans. BONE has tried to be made by dozens of animation studios for decades but productions keep falling through. Luckily the creator Jeff Smith had a successful kickstarter for a new comic book so he'll survive with or without this project.

The 80s weren't all THAT bad honestly I'd almost have them back as opposed to the trash fire the animation industry is even.... Even though that decade had problems of its own.

Is Gravity Falls good?

It's a pretty excellent show. I'm not one of those people that likes looking for hints and secrets but the reveals are pretty good and makes sense. The show doesn't overstay it's welcome and ends without really any filler.

That depends if Biden still thinks Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue was still "the single most ambitious and important drug education program ever attempted anywhere."

But what they mean are the rampant half-hour toy commercials that marked the decade. Personally, I think we're more like the stagnancy of the 70s. The 80s had a lot going on.

It was never actually very popular and only got a second season because it got good reviews.

It was said before, but MTV’s Downtown deserved more than 13 episodes. The last episode in particular ended on a somewhat anticlimactic note, when Alex’s sister was sent to the hospital after she ate what appeared to be Halloween candy that was laced with LSD, only for Alex to get (somewhat) friendzoned by Serena after he stood her up to try to save his sister from getting strung out on drugs

Either way, I can at least be thankful he made Megas XLR. It’s still one of the more underrated examples of Americans loving mecha anime and copying their own version of it into making it their own thing.
