Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

Close Enough has been cancelled by HBO Max after three seasons.
Sad what happened with Close enough. It was the first time in a while we had an adult cartoon that didn’t rely on excessive profanity and dick jokes or voice actors that always sounded hammered.
On the other hand, it's like the old saying goes: you either die a hero -

- or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain:

Cow & Chicken was experimental animation incarnate with how chaotic yet entertaining it was. :heart-full:

That kid was only in one episode and they already made him gay
Ehhh that's tame compared to what they did for the ugly girl with the bird on her head (saw the clip on twatter some time ago). She and her friend made fanfictions together, told some lesbo couple she felt weird whenever they did it, lesbos told her she likes the girl and she used a fanfiction with both her and the friend's OCs to confess her love to her. Creepy shit.

Sigh...remember when Matt Burnett and Ben Levin did stuff like this.

How the fuck do you go from humor and style on par with The Venture Bros. to CalArts Presents Negros & Neighborhoods?

Their website is down, but from what I remember over a decade ago, Matt and Ben were excited to officially work at Cartoon Network on a series with an Adventure Time alumni. It was a little show called Steven Universe...

I really want to see how they'll tackle this in the future spanish dub, since you can't pull a theythem as easily as you can in english without sounding uncanny, all thanks to spanish being a gendered language.
What will they use? Ellas?/elles?ellx?
Now then you mention it, it's doubtful now then we might see an arabic dub of the new Monster High series.

100% unsurprised that Craig of the Creek was made by two White dudes. No black person would be gay enough to represent themselves as *that*.
Some underaged twink (tv executive moment) with big niggo lips. That buck broken bitch wouldn't last 5 seconds in the hood.

On the Cow and Chicken topic, here's an interview with David Feiss from Cartoon Brew.

Included are pictures of the book he used to pitch the show.
Damn. It's beautiful.
Imagine a modern cartoonist being able to fucking draw...

I know I've only seen clips of this show, but it just feels like its nothing, but representation and little else.
It's slice of life, there's really not much to discuss if you're not into that sort of thing. I've watched a few episodes and enjoyed it just fine, but it's not something I'd go out of my way to download new episodes for when they release.

Nice to see Cow & Chicken receive some love even if I feel it was the weakest of the well-known Cartoon Cartoons. It always felt like it was trying to be CN’s answer to Ren & Stimpy, but never went far enough to be as good as that show in its prime.
I agree, but this one frame justifies the show's existence.

As lowbrow as it was, I never failed to watch it as a kid. Pork butts and Taters.
