It’s been said before, but what CW tried to do with the failed PPG live action reboot is no different with what they tried to do with Riverdale by making the Archie characters dark, gloomy and way too gay for the sake of checking off boxes and not adding anything new or original to the “updated” story.

Same thing with what they did to Nancy Drew on trying to turn her into a “#girlboss” detective.

I occasionally obsess over how boringly bad this show was whenever the usual "Oh it's not THAT bad" crowd starts speaking up, and while it can have some charming aspects, it's way, way worse than "that bad" by virtue of being boring.

That crap was in the abysmal valley between just being bad and so bad it's good, where it wasn't even bad enough to care about. I literally hadn't even thought about it since its mere existence became a thing, and I doubt I will again until the next time I see it mentioned, which I hope is years from now or never.

It was never even in the running for so bad it's good, it was just so bad it sucked and everyone forgot it.
