Pleakly is such a fun character in the original series, he almost writes himself. He's also the only Disney character that is inarguably gay in canon. It's just the rule I'm sorry.

Yeah they might l....MIGHT have my sympathy if this show was made by escapees from north Korea (like a certain animated film who's name eludes me at the momment) but this? No, just no.

To give this one a fair shot, I like the line work and some of the designs are okay. They're also willing to give ethnic characters thick accents, and some of the visual gags are fun. At one point the mom jumps onto a durian fruit like it's a grenade to shield her children, and she curls up like a dead spider.

The "awkward main character" is more of a straight man, like he's more mellow than Dipper from GF. But it does have that same hyperactive personality, posing, and movement that every cartoon has been doing for the past 10 years.
Another problem I'm noticing with this is that the Korean culture stuff seems kind of shallow and surface level. It doesn't bring anything to the entertainment factor of the show.
I'd say a better blend of cultures is shows like Mucha Lucha or El Tigre, where instead of portraying the culture as "just like you!" they instead show what's fun and cool and interesting about the culture.

They also tend to act REALLY sour towards Chinese and Japanese media, and even their people, because of the old grudges the East Asian countries have and had. Some recent Korean media (i.e. Squid Game and Blue Archive) come off as being astroturfed, and not because they gained a genuine audience, namely in the case of Blue Archive, to compete with Chinese and Japanese media.

South Korea also does most of the bad things about East Asian countries, i.e. suicide rates, overemphasis on looks with how HUGE the Plastic Surgery industry is there, and overworking, but they do it EVEN WORSE.

Amazon Prime is releasing an adult comedy cartoon called "Number 1 family USA" that has one single joke and it's "America fears muslims."

This trailer is only 2 minutes long but it's so unfunny it felt like 2 hours.

This reminded of cartoon saloon with the way they drew the fucking eyes.

This is a beautifully made movie that made me hate Islam even more than I already do. 10/10 would recommend.

Its an especially bad argument in this context because they did try to "modernize" Dante with a reboot that everyone fucking hated so much that they scrapped the entire idea and just made DMC5 with a classic Dante that was beloved and widely successful.

This was already tried and failed in the games, seems simply retarded to try it again with the show.
